Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kesulitan siswa SMP dalam menyelesaikan soal operasi hitung yang ditinjau dari penguasaan tiga elemen dalam pembelajaran matematika yaitu konsep, keterampilan dan pemecahan masalah serta mengetahui faktor penyebab kesulitan yang dialami siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-A SMP Negeri 1 Manganitu dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 21 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 5 butir soal essay operasi hitung bentuk aljabar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal operasi hitung bentuk aljabar dengan persentase memahami konsep 45,71% tergolong kategori cukup tinggi, persentase dalam hal keterampilan 22,38% tergolong kategori rendah dan persentase melakukan pemecahan masalah 13,33% tergolong kategori sangat rendah.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti jenis-jenis kesalahan dan fakto-faktor penyebab yang dilakukan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal pada pokok bahasan matriks berdasarkan prosedur Newman. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian merupakan 30 siswa kelas XI IPA 1 di SMA N 1 Tondano kemudian diambil 6 orang siswa sebagai subjek wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan presentase kesalahan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal pada pokok bahasan matriks berdasarkan prosedur Newman: kesalahan membaca (reading error) 0.67%, kesalahan memahami (comprehension error) 1.33%, kesalahan transformasi (transformation error) 24%, kesalahan kemampuan memproses (process skill error) dan kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir (encoding error) sebesar 37.33%. Faktor penyebab kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa adalah tidak teliti dalam membaca soal dan dalam melakukan operasi penjumlahan matriks, terburu-buru dalam menyelesaikan soal, tidak memahami syarat perkalian matriks, tidak tahu rumus yang harus digunakan untuk menyelesaikan soal, tidak membuat langkah-langkah penyelesaian secara rinci, catatan tidak lengkap, dan tidak belajar.

Abstract

Mathematics is an important basic science, because logical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills are needed in various fields such as business, technology, health and the environment. Strong mathematics students are expected to be able to adapt, innovate, and contribute to solving global problems, so that their learning outcomes are important in preparing them to face global challenges in the future. In the current era, the government product curriculum is known as the Merdeka Curriculum, or Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM), one of the programs of which consists of the PMM program. The aim of this research is to analyze the positive impact of the PMM program which is so important on mathematics learning outcomes which can provide insight into how well this program prepares students to face global challenges in the future. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a case study research design. The results obtained from this research are that the impact of the PMM program on the learning outcomes of students majoring in mathematics at Unima is categorized into the good category with an overall percentage score of 85.7%.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi tulis sangat penting dimiliki oleh siswa untuk menyelesaikan masalah matematika. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat adanya hubungan antara kemampuan komunikasi tulis siswa dengan model pembelajaran Think Talk Write .Jenis riset ini adalah riset kuantitatif korelasional.Riset ini dilaksanakan pada siswa kelas VIII di SMP N 1 Duhiadaa tahun ajaran 2022/2023.Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII tahun ajaran 2022/2023 yang terdiri dari 3 kelas yang berjumlah keseluruhan 76 siswa.Hipotesis uji dengan memakai analisis regresi korelasi sederhana. Mengacu pada hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara kemampuan komunikasi tulis siswa dengan model pembelajaran Think Talk Write, hal tersebut dapat terlihat melalui nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,62. Model pembelajaran Think Talk Write memberikan kontribusi sebanyak 38,44% terhadap peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi tulis siswa melalui hubungan linear Y 48,2805+0,4330X

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the types of errors and the causal factors that were made by students in solving question on matrix based on the Newman procedure. The method of this research is descriptive qualitative. The data was collected by using tests and interviews. The subject of this research is students of class XI IPA 1 at SMA N 1 Tondano. Among these students,  6 (six) students were taken as interview subjects. The result of this study is the percentage of students’ errors in solving matrix problem which consist: reading error 0.67%, comprehension error 1.33%, transformation error 24%, process skill error and encoding error 37.33%. The factors that cause errors made by students are students: (1) not careful in reading questions and in carrying out matrix addition operation; (2) rushing in solving problems; (3) not understanding the terms of matrix multiplication; (4) not knowing the formula that must be used to solve problem; (5) not making steps to solve problem in detail; (6) incomplete notes; and (7) not learning

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) such as ChatGPT is applied in education as a tool in the learning process that plays a role in increasing access to information quickly and directly, so that students can more easily understand the material. The use of ChatGPT in modeling courses is triggered by satisfactory learning results, and in the learning process it is more time efficient and makes it easier for students to understand complex material in mathematical modeling courses. This research was conducted at Universitas Negeri Manado on students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, using a qualitative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed online, as well as documentation of student learning outcomes with data analysis using a Likert Scale to measure student perceptions, including comfort of use, quality of information, and motivation to learn, evaluate, and use technology. The results showed that students benefited in the learning process due to the quick and relevant information from ChatGPT, as well as its ability to provide detailed answers. ChatGPT is considered to help their understanding in dealing with abstract concepts that often appear in mathematical modeling. On the other hand, students feel that the use of this AI still requires direct support from lecturers, especially for tasks that require critical and independent thinking. Although ChatGPT cannot replace the lecturer's role completely, its presence is supported to complement learning in a more efficient and interactive way, and allow students to learn more independently and actively

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using problem-based learning model on students' mathematics learning outcomes in cognitive aspects. The method used in this research is quantitative research method with Quasi-Experimental Design research design. The population in the study were VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Tondano in the 2024/2025 academic year consisting of 4 classes. The samples taken were VIII A class with 29 students as the experimental class and VIII B class with 24 students as the control class. The sampling technique was carried out using simple random sampling technique. In this study, the instrument used was a post-test test instrument in the form of an essay. The test statistic used to test the hypothesis is the t test. The results of the study using the t test obtained = 4.79 and = 1.67 with a real level of 5%. Because then reject and accept which means the hypothesis is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of students' mathematics learning outcomes on the material of the system of linear equations of two variables through the use of problem-based learning models.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to explore the positive correlation between students' interest in learning and their mathematics achievement. A quantitative approach using a correlation method was applied, with the research conducted among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano. The study's population included all seventh-grade students, with a sample size of 44 participants. Data were gathered through questionnaires designed using a Likert scale to measure the students' level of interest. The hypothesis was tested through the Pearson Product Moment correlation method. The results indicated a significant positive relationship between students' interest in learning and their mathematics achievement, with a correlation coefficient of 0.7886, which falls under the strong correlation category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the errors experienced students in solving word problems on the material on the flat side of the classroom VIII SMP Negeri 2 Langowan based on the Newman procedure. This research using this type of qualitative research, with the methods used in data collection, namely written tests in the form of essay, interviews, and documentation. The subjects in this study were class VIII C students 26 students. Based on the results of the data obtained, it shows that in solving word problems on flat sided space material, students make mistakes at the stage of understanding the problem (comprehension) with a percentage og 18,4, this stages of process transformation (transformation) with a percentage of 28,4%, the stages of process skills (process skills) with a percentage of 44,6%, and the stages of writing the final answer (endcoding) with a percentage of 51,5%.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether the implementation of Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative learning model has an effect on students’ learning outcomes on the algebraic expression material in the 7th grade at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano. The research method used was a quasi-experimental research type with two groups of subjects, namely class VIIA with 26 students as the experimental class and class VIIB with 23 students as the control class at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano. This study used the pretest and posttest control group design with data collection techniques using learning outcomes tests, which were then analyzed by conducting a t-test. Based on the t-test calculation, it obtained tobtained>ttable = 2.613 > 2.012, thus reject H0 and accept H1. This means that the average learning outcomes of experimental class students taught using the TAI cooperative learning model are higher than the average learning outcomes of control class students taught using conventional learning models.
