Abstract

One of the information technology (IT) utilization by the government is the establishment of an official website for public access, designed to disseminate information about the COVID-19. Gaining public trust in the information dissemination is getting harder due to the amount of information, while the government is striving to provide reliable information. The service quality provided on the official website will affect the public’s trust and desire to use these services. Citizen loyalty is known when people intensively use the government electronic services because they believe in the government and its e-services based on perceived satisfaction and service quality. This research studied the effect of service quality, trust, and user satisfaction on user loyalty when using e-services by the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) government. The study used a trust model developed by Alkraiji and Ameen and applied it to the official COVID-19 website. Data were collected from 100 respondents in the DIY who were in the productive age range. The experiment was carried out using explanatory and inferential techniques with multiple linear regression methods. The results of the study indicate that all model hypotheses are accepted. The relationship between antecedents and citizen loyalty was more influenced by trust in government and e-government. This finding explains why Yogyakarta citizen trust the government and its electronic services and will be loyal to use these services during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as other facilities in the future.

Abstract

The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia is known as Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan (BPK). In carrying out its duties and functions, it empowers and relies on information technology (IT) infrastructure that covers all aspects, including planning, procurement, service provision, information asset security, service continuity, and evaluation. BPK implements a collaboration portal to meet service needs and teamwork during the audit process, ad-hoc committees, and leader instructions to follow BPK’s strategic plan. BPK needs to assess the effect of the collaboration portal in supporting employee performance and improving IT services. As a result, this study aims to investigate the factors that influence the effectiveness of the BPK collaboration portal. This study used Delone and McLean model of information system success by looking at the relationship of system quality, information quality, service quality, facilitating conditions, and collaboration quality to user satisfaction and individual job performance. The research method used a quantitative approach with partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The sample data was collected from 60 respondents at BPK. The data obtained from the respondents were processed using the SmartPLS application. The study results show that information quality, facilitating conditions, and collaboration quality positively and significantly affect user satisfaction. There is a positive and significant influence of user satisfaction on individual job performance. In addition, system quality and service quality do not significantly influence user satisfaction with collaboration portal services.

Abstract

MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) is an innovation in the field of online learning that has been popular since 2012. MOOC users during the COVID-19 pandemic increased dramatically, but the dropout rate for MOOC was also high. One of the things that causes the high dropout rate is the MOOC design. To get a good MOOC design, it is necessary to design an instructional design. Instructional design is a guide in designing instruction or learning stages to facilitate effective learning so that learning objectives can be achieved. Many examples of instructional design have been introduced in previous studies, one of which is "The 7Cs Learning Design Framework". In this research, a mapping of elements that are found in MOOC will be carried out into the category of MOOC features that are closely related because of the similarity of functions and properties with "The 7Cs Learning Design Framework". It is hoped that after this mapping has been carried out, system developers and MOOC instructors can focus more on a good MOOC design so as to maintain MOOC user retention and satisfaction.

Abstract

This research presents the INVys system aiming to solve the problem of indoor navigation for persons with visual impairment by leveraging the capabilities of an RGB-D camera. The system utilizes the depth information provided by the camera for micronavigation, which involves sensing and avoiding obstacles in the immediate environment. The INVys system proposes a novel auto-adaptive double thresholding (AADT) method to detect obstacles, calculate their distance, and provide feedback to the user to avoid them. AADT has been evaluated and compared to baseline and auto-adaptive thresholding (AAT) methods using four criteria: accuracy, precision, robustness, and execution time. The results indicate that AADT excels in accuracy, precision, and robustness, making it a suitable method for obstacle detection and avoidance in the context of indoor navigation for persons with visual impairment. In addition to micronavigation, the INVys system utilizes the color information provided by the camera for macro-navigation, which involves recognizing and following navigational markers called optical glyphs. The system uses an automatic glyph binarization method to recognize the glyphs and evaluates them using two criteria: accuracy and execution time. The results indicate that the proposed method is accurate and efficient in recognizing the optical glyphs, making it suitable for use as a navigational marker in indoor environments. Furthermore, the study also provides a correlation between the size of the glyphs, the distance of the recognized glyphs, the tilt condition of the recognized glyphs, and the accuracy of glyph recognition. These correlations define the minimum glyph size that can be practically used for indoor navigation for persons with visual impairment. Overall, this research presents a promising solution for indoor navigation for persons with visual impairment by leveraging the capabilities of an RGB-D camera and proposing novel methods for obstacle detection and avoidance and for recognizing navigational markers.

Abstract

Trust is described in various contexts, such as e-commerce, e-government, reviews, and online health information. Credibility and information quality are fundamental to building trust in those contexts. This study aimed to develop trust perception (TP) and information use (IU) indicators in an information evaluation context. Indicators were developed through three processes: searching, grouping, and construction. Relevant indicators were grouped based on similarities to construct statements, which were validated for face and content validity by three experts. The validated TP and IU were then tested using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS)-SEM. The data used for measurement obtained from 110 participants comprising 55 Indonesian academic librarians and 55 university students. Participants responded to indicator statements after evaluating information from four prepared informational websites. This study yielded five TP indicators and a single IU indicator, where TP significantly predicted IU. The five indicators described TP as make-sense information relevant to needs, provided by trusted authors and providers, and accompanied by accessible author information, provider information, and reference sources. IU was described as the information used for its credibility. The measurement demonstrated distinct participant behaviors. Differences in needs influenced assessments, while author and provider trustworthiness showed no bias toward participant type. Trust perception significantly predicted IU, with moderate model fit and varying predictive strengths across the websites. Tested as reliable, valid, and a significant predictor of IU, TP serves as a tool for examining factors that potentially influence trust in online information.
