Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of drill methods in increasing the ability to tie shoelaces to autistic children. The type of research method used in this study is single subject research (SSR), with A-B-A research design. this research was conducted at the SLB Paulus Tomohon. The subjects in this study were autistic students who sat in class X. The results showed that subjects could not follow instructions along baseline A1 in 5 times, baseline B as many as  15 times, and baselin A2 as much as 5 times, Analysis of data at baseline (A1) long conditions 5 sessions with mean level 0, 0% presentation stability. Furthermore, in the intervention stage (B) the condition is 15 sessions long with mean level 6.46 and stability percentage 33%. The baseline stage (A2) with the condition of 5 sessions and mean level 10, the percentage of stability is 100%, with the existing data, it can be concluded that the drill method can improve the ability to tie shoelaces to autistic children in class X at the SLB Paulus Tomohon.

Abstract

Grit merupakan ketekunan dan kegigihan terhadap hal yang diminati demi mencapai tujuan jangka panjang. Pola asuh demokratis merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi grit. Dukungan dari orang tua berperan penting dalam membantu mahasiswa dalam mengatasi tantangan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh demokratis dengan grit pada pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir Program Studi Psikologi Universitas Negeri Manado. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 80 orang yang terdiri dari 30 orang mahasiswa semester VI dan 50 orang mahasiswa semester VIII. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah sampling jenuh. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan positif antara pola asuh demokratis dengan grit pada pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir Program Studi Psikologi Universitas Negeri Manado. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari nilai korelasi product moment sebesar 0,426 dengan taraf signifikan sebesar 0,000 (p 0,05), dimana semakin tinggi pola asuh demokratis maka semakin tinggi pula grit pada mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceptions of students with Deaf Sensory Disabilities (DSR) towards English language learning innovations after the initial implementation stage. Qualitative methods were used by conducting in-depth focus group discussions involving a number of DSR students who are currently studying for higher education. The results of the study indicate that DSR students have diverse views on the English language learning innovations that have been implemented. Several key findings include: (1) an increase in learning motivation with the use of visual and interactive technology, (2) the important role of various parties in supporting learning, and (3) the need for adaptation of learning materials that are more in line with the characteristics of DSR students. Challenges identified include limited understanding of linguistic components by DSR students and lack of peer support. This study concludes that English language learning innovations have significant potential to improve learning effectiveness, but need to be adapted to the specific needs of DSR students. Implications of this study include recommendations for the development of more inclusive curricula and teaching methods in higher education.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is a learning approach process for students with different abilities in the same class. The purpose of differentiated learning is to maximize the growth/progress of each student and individual success through the adjustment of each student (from where he or she is), and assistance in the learning process. It is very urgent for students with special needs to be served according to their capacity.. From the research results obtained data, students with special needs at Unima consist of the blind, deaf, and physically disabled, without intellectual barriers, with diverse learning needs. With the act of making a difference in the media and learning models, they are able to master the lecture material well. Universities such as Manado State University, are able to implement it, and have an influence on the optimization and existence of inclusive learning services.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of the direct instruction method could improve the self-development ability to tie shoes with laces for children with Down syndrome. The research method used is the Single Subject method. this was held at SLB Theresia Sonder. With the subject of class IV students totaling 1 person, as for the data collection techniques (observation and tests). The results showed that the direct instruction method could improve the self-development ability to tie lace-up shoes in children with Down syndrome at Theresia Sonder Special School. Therefore, the use of this method will greatly affect the improvement of the results of students' abilities.

Abstract

Learning in inclusive education schools, which have students with very varied abilities, is different from regular schools where students generally have uniform levels of ability. Most teachers in inclusive schools are not prepared to teach children with disabilities or special needs, so they often have difficulty in developing appropriate individual learning programs. In this study, the method used is the ADDIE R&D development model, which includes five stages: 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation The purpose of this study is to develop one product, namely PPI (Individual Learning Program). The Individual Learning Program (PPI) is very influential and proven to be effective for learning in inclusive schools because students with special needs can follow the existing learning, the learning outcomes obtained have also changed since implementing the Individual Learning Program (PPI) in regular schools. Based on data analysis from the results of the study and discussion, it can be concluded that the PPI (Individual Learning Program) in regular schools has a very significant influence on the student learning process by looking at the evaluation and instrument of the PPI (Individual Learning Program) that is carried out

Abstract

This research aims to improve the verbal communication skills of autistic children so that they can more effectively express their needs, wants and feelings, develop independence in communicating with others without the need for assistance and to evaluate the impact of the PECS method in reducing the difficulties experienced by autistic children when interacting with others including behaviors that can hinder effective communication. Even though previous research has shown that the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) method can be effective in improving the communication skills of autistic children, there are still some gaps in research related to the use of the PECS method in improving the verbal communication skills of autistic children such as, the lack of research evaluating the impact of the PECS method in improving verbal communication skills in SLB Kreasi Mandiri. This study using single subject research method explored the effect of PECS method in improving verbal communication ability of autistic children. The results of this study indicate that the use of the PECS method has a positive impact in helping to improve the verbal communication of children with autism. Where at baseline-A1 before being given treatment got a percentage of 33%, in the intervention phase 75%, and at baseline-A2 got satisfactory results of 91%. There is a change in the value of means that initially baseline-A1 the value obtained is only 1.33 until the baseline-A2 reaches a value of 3.66 and the change in data levels between baseline-A1 and intervention (B) conditions of (+2), intervention (B) and baseline-A2 of (+3) indicates a good trend and there is no overlap of data because the percentage is 0% indicating no overlapping data, and the effect of the intervention and target behavior can be clearly observed. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the PECS method is effective in helping autistic children develop verbal communication skills. This research is expected to contribute to SLB Kreasi Mandiri regarding communication strategies for autistic children

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of task analysis methods can improve the ability to fold shirts in moderate mentally retarded children in grade III at SLB-C Katolik Santa Anna Tomohon. The method used in this study in SSR (Single Subject Research) with an A-B-A research design consisting of baseline-1 (A1), Intervention (B), and Baseline-2 (A2). The data collection technique in this study uses the ability recording technique. The results of the study can be proven that the research subjects increased. Where in baseline-A1 before being given treatment, the percentage was 12,5%, in the intervention phase 79%, and in baseline-A2 the results were 87,5%. There was a change in the means value, which was initially baseline-A1, the value obtainted was only 0,75 until baseline-A2 reached a value of 5,25 and a change in the data level between the intervention/baseline-A1 conditions of (+3) and intervention/baseline-A2 of (+6) indicating a good trend and no overlap of data because the percentage wqas 0%. Indicating no overlapping data and the influence of intervention and target behaviour can be clearly observed. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of the task analysis method can improve the ability to fold shirts in moderate mentally retarded children in grade III at SLB-C Katolik Santa Anna Tomohon.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to recognize number symbols in mildly mentally retarded children in grade VII at SLB-C Katolik Santa Anna Tomohon by playing number cards. The research method used is SSR (Single Subject Research) with an A-B-A research design. A1 (Baseline-1) is the initial test before the subject receives intervention, B (Intervention) is the condition of the subject when receiving treatment and A2 (Baseline-2) is the final test of the subject after receiving intervention. In this study, data collection techniques were through observation and interviews with teachers and principals. The results of the study can be proven that the research subjects increased. Where in baseline-1 before being given treatment, the percentage was 25%, in the intervention phase 75% and baseline-2 got satisfactory results of 83.33%. The change in the means value obtained at baseline-1 only reached 0.75 and at baseline-2 showed the means level obtained was 2.5 and the change in data level between conditions at Intervention/baseline-2 was (+2) and at baseline-2/intervention conditions was (+3) indicating a good trend and there was no overlapping data because the percentage was 0% indicating no overlapping data. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the use of number card media is effective in improving the ability to recognize number symbols in children with mild mental retardation. This study is expected to contribute to other researchers who are interested in studying the same problem, as well as providing guidance in developing more effective interventions to support the education of children with mental retardation. The results showed that playing number cards can help mildly disabled children to recognize number symbols. In addition, the use of media encourages the creation of a more adaptable and inclusive curriculum. Educators should be trained in the use of new learning media that can improve the academic abilities of mildly retarded students. This has a theoretical basis that supports the learning approach of using concrete media in the education of children with special needs. This approach is in line with constructivist learning theory which emphasizes the importance of direct experience in the learning process. Therefore, playing number cards helps education practically and theoretically. Games are also the theoretical basis for inclusive education

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplor dukungan sosial dalam penerimaan diri orang tua yang memiliki anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) di SLb poyowa besar kotamobagu. Orang tua ABK sering menghadapi tantangan emosional dan psikologis yang signifikan, termasuk perasaan tertekan dan terisolasi. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi, penelitian ini melibatkan wawancara mendalam dengan enam orang tua ABK untuk memahami dampak dukungan sosial terhadap penerimaan diri mereka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dukungan sosial dari keluarga, teman dan komunitas berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan kesejahteraan emosional prang tua. Dukungan ini membantu mereka menerima kondisi anak dan menciptakan lingkungan yang positif bagi perkembangan anak. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi beberapa model perlakuan orang tua terhadap ABK, termasuk kecenderungan untuk menarik diri, overprotektif dan menghindar. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya dukungan sosial dalam membantu orang tua ABK menjalani peran mereka dengan lebih baik, serta menciptakan kesadaran akan pentingnya penerimaan dan dukungan sosial.
