Abstract

Teralis banyak digunakan sebagai pengaman maupun hiasan rumah. Pada umumnya, teralis dapat diproduksi secara manual atau menggunakan mesin. Penggunaan mesin tersebut dapat menghasilkan produktivitas dalam produksi teralis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merancang dan membuat mesin pemuntir besi pejak kotak dengan posisi vertikal dimana ukuran penampang dari besi pejal 10x10 mm. Metode yang digunakan adalah VDI 2221 yang dimulai dari mendefisinikan permasalahan, fungsi dari mesin, mencari solusi dari beberapa penelitian sebelumnya, membuat sketsa, pembuatan spesifikasi berdasarkan hasil dari beberapa perhitungan, pembuatan produk, hingga pengujian. Pengujian puntir dilakukan dengan menggunakan bahan uji besi pejal persegi 10x10 x1000 mm. Hasil dari perancangan tersebut menghasilkan spesifikasi dengan ukuran maksimum sebesar 600x300x2000 mm dengan material BjTS 280 atau setara dengan tegangan luluh 280 MPa. Mesin tersebut juga dirancang memiliki kapasitas motor sebesar 0,75 kW dengan putaran 1500 rpm. Sedangkan hasil dari pengujian menghasilkan putaran sebesar 28 rpm saat pemuntiran besi pejal persegi 10x10 mm dengan panjang maskimum 1000 mm. Putaran ini juga menghasilkan penuruan sebesar 4,65%.

Abstract

Indramayu terletak di utara jawa. Selain pengasil ikan dan mangga, Indramayu merupakan lumbung padi nasional. Hal tersebut dapat berdampak pada kualitas air nya. Lokasi yang terdampak air keruh adalah Pondok Pesantren Manbaul Ulum Indramayu. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dan mengurangi limbah sekam padi di Indramayu maka timbulah ide untuk membuat karbon aktif dari sekam padi untuk filtrasi air. Sekam padi dipanaskan 100oC dalam oven selama 1 jam. Proses dehidrasi ini dilakukan agar pembuatan karbon lebih mudah. Selanjutnya sekam padi dilakukan pembakaran 300oC sampai terbentuk arang. Kemudian karbon tersebut dipanaskan di dalam furnace dengan suhu 750oC selama 3 jam untuk proses aktivasi karbon. Setelah itu karbon dari sekam padi dimasukan ke dalam alat filtrasi air bersama dengan pasir silika dan zeolite untuk meningkatkan daya serap filtrasi air. Hasil dari pengujian air secara fisika, kimia dan bakteriologi di dapatkan penurunan kadar pencemar sesudah dipasang alat filtrasi air.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penggunaan electro pneumatic untuk press tahu yang akan digunakan untuk skala home industry yang saat ini masih diproses secara tradisional. Electro pneumatic yang digunakan berjumlah lima (5) buah untuk menekan kapasitas 50-80 kg adonan tahu. Selain itu, electro pneumatic ini juga digunakan untuk proses pemotongan tahu yang berukuran 40x40x70 mm. Rancangan rangka sebagai dudukan loyang tahu dan dudukan electro pneumatic mengikuti prinsip ergonomis dan safety. Ketinggian meja untuk loyang tahu sesuai dengan antropometri rata-rata orang Indonesia yaitu 772 mm. Sedangkan hasil safety factor yang didapatkan 4.38 untuk perhitungan true engineering dan 1.88 menggunakan software Solidworks berdasarkan hasil Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan electro pneumatic pada proses press tahu untuk skala home industry dapat meningkatkan produktivitas usaha tahu sebesar 45%. Efisiensi waktu proses press dan pemotongan tahu 57.4 % lebih cepat dari proses tradisional.

Abstract

The aluminum casting industry has experienced a lot of innovation and creativity to maintain its existence. Metal casting is a process by which hot molten metal is poured into a mold containing hollow pieces or cavities of the desired finished shape. The process of casting with a permanent mold is preheating the casting mold before the casting process is carried out. This is done so that the temperature of the casting mold increases, so that the difference between the temperature of the mold and the temperature of the aluminum to be poured is not too great. This study aims to overcome or prevent hot tearing by increasing the preheating temperature in the mold. The test results show that the preheating temperature of 200ºC does not experience shrinkage in the metal casting results. Whereas at preheating temperatures of 125ºC and 150ºC there are hot tearing defects and there is shrinkage. whereas at the preheating temperature variation of 200ºC there are only shrinkage defects. The results of the vickers hardness test showed that the higher the preheating temperature, the hardness value of the casting product will increase. The highest vickers hardness value was obtained at the 200°C preheating temperature variation of 69.55 HV, while at the 150°C preheating temperature variation, the vickers hardness value was 68.51 HV. and at a variation of the preheating temperature of 125ºC, the vickers hardness value is 67.04 HV. The results obtained from metallographic testing are aluminum 6061. Judging from the microstructure at the 200℃ preheating variation, the dentite grains look smaller than the 125℃ preheating variation and the 150℃ preheating variation. It can be concluded that the higher the preheating temperature, the better the denrite density.

Abstract

The use of cooking fuel, both in businesses and households, is essential, especially given the lack of alternatives to LPG following the fuel transition. The rise in global oil prices due to fuel shortages has become a global issue. Biogas, produced through the anaerobic fermentation of organic waste by bacteria, generates methane gas that can be utilized as an alternative energy source. Therefore, a landfill gas model biogas machine was designed to convert organic waste, such as cow manure and tofu liquid waste, into alternative fuel. The machine is equipped with a microcontroller system for automatic valve operation and gas pressure monitoring. Static load simulation on the machine frame using SolidWorks software showed that the maximum stress experienced was 10.4 x 10^6 N/m², well below the material's yield strength of 203.9 x 10^6 N/m², indicating safety. The displacement simulation on the machine frame ranged between 0.1–0.2 mm in the loaded areas, and the resulting factor of safety (FOS) was 19.5, signifying a highly safe design (FOS > 1).

Abstract

ASTM A36 is a type of structural metal that can be applied for various purposes such as making gears, bridge structures and ship buildings. After welding, ASTM A36 steel will produce residual stress. Residual stress in the welded metal is caused not balanced temperature distribution. The method for eliminating residual stress is tempering. Tempering is used to reduce residual stresses, increase the ductility and toughness of metals. This research aims to analyze the effect of variations in tempering temperature on the mechanical properties of ASTM A36 steel after SMAW welding using E7016 electrodes. The tensile strength test on the specimen showed the highest increase due to the tempering effect of 537,880 MPa at a temperature of 200°C. This is proven by the reduction in material hardness of 165.07 VHN at a tempering temperature of 200°C when compared to the hardness of the raw material. The growth of ferrite grains in the material structure shows that the ASTM A36 material is increasingly ductile after tempering. The results of research on the effect of variations in tempering temperature on the mechanical properties of ASTM A36 can be used as an alternative way to increase ductility after the welding process

Abstract

Plasma cutting is often used in the industrial world, because this process is more effective and efficient in its users, therefore this cutting process must be considered material properties and cutting methods based on function and purpose. In this study, cutting used plasma cutting, the cutting speed variation method used for SUS 304 stainless steel. The speed variations used are 0.0045 m/s, 0.0252 m/s, 0.0470 m/s. Then it is tested by micro and hardness testing. In this observation, the best speed was obtained at the third variation of 0.0470 m / s because it had the smallest average HAZ width value of 427.83 μm and the highest average material hardness value of 167.753 Kg.f. For the largest average HAZ width was found in the first variation of 0.0045 m / s which was 1240.33 μm and the smallest material hardness value was found in the second variation of 0.0252 m / s which was 163.76 Kg.f.

Abstract

The escalating volume of plastic waste has become a critical environmental challenge, highlighting the need for innovative solutions to repurpose it into valuable construction materials. This study aimed to design and develop a pneumatic-based eco-paving block printing machine that uses plastic waste as its primary raw material. The research methodology encompassed the design and simulation of pneumatic circuits, structural analysis involving stress distribution, displacement, and factor of safety (FOS), and strength testing of the fabricated eco-paving blocks. The machine was equipped with a pneumatic cylinder measuring 80 × 75 mm, operating at a pressure of 6 bar and generating a maximum pressing force of 300 kg. The simulation results confirmed that the maximum stress and displacement remained within safe limits, with a minimum FOS of 8.4, thereby ensuring a stable and reliable design. Testing of the eco-paving blocks revealed compressive strengths ranging from 38 to 54 MPa, surpassing the requirements of the SNI 03-0691-1996 standard. This study demonstrates that a pneumatic-based eco-paving block printing machine effectively transforms plastic waste into high-quality construction materials compliant with national standards, offering a practical solution to the plastic waste crisis while promoting sustainability in the construction industry.

Abstract

Indramayu is the largest rice barn area in Java, so it contributes waste from the rice production process, but the waste processing process is less productive or there are very few enthusiasts. So there is a very big opportunity by utilizing waste which is more useful, namely by processing it into fish pellets which have a high price value compared to other processing methods. The design of the rice husk grinding machine uses a type 32 disk mill knife and a type 32 fish pellet printer that will print 3 mm pellets with a machine frame dimension of 849 x 597 x 918. The frame of this machine uses 40 x 40 x 1.35 mm hollow iron. The specifications of this fish machine consist of three main components, namely a husk refiner, a pellet dough mixer, and a fish pellet molder driven by a combustion engine with the motor power and speed used, namely a refiner power of 1.82 HP with a speed of 3600 rpm, a mixer power of 1.86 HP with a speed of 771.42 rpm, a molding power of 0.56 HP with a speed of 771.42 rpm. So the total power used for this machine is 5.5 HP or 4.1 kw. So it can be seen that the motor power is 5.5 HP < 7 HP, so a 7 HP drive motor can be used.

Abstract

Proses pembuatan bumbu Soto Mie Bogor secara manual membutuhkan waktu yang lama, antara 1 hingga 2 jam untuk mengolah 3 kg bumbu, dan mengandalkan tenaga manusia yang besar. Hal ini mengakibatkan pengadukan yang tidak merata serta mempengaruhi kualitas bumbu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan menguji mesin penggiling dan pengaduk bumbu Soto Mie Bogor dengan kapasitas 10 kg, yang terdiri dari 8 kg bumbu dan 2 kg minyak, guna meningkatkan efisiensi produksi UMKM. Mesin ini menggabungkan fungsi penggilingan dan pengadukan dalam satu unit yang digerakkan oleh motor listrik 0,75 kW dengan sistem transmisi gearbox rasio 1:40. Desain mesin menggunakan perangkat lunak SolidWorks 2021. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa mesin ini dapat mengurangi waktu pengolahan bumbu menjadi sekitar 1 jam, jauh lebih efisien dibandingkan dengan metode manual yang memakan waktu 3–4 jam. Mesin ini diperkirakan mengonsumsi sekitar 0,75 kWh per hari, dengan biaya listrik bulanan sekitar Rp31.000 jika beroperasi selama satu jam setiap hari. Implementasi mesin ini diharapkan dapat mengurangi kesalahan manusia, meningkatkan kapasitas produksi, dan mengoptimalkan waktu operasional UMKM Soto Mie Bogor.
