Abstract

Abstract

Background: The Tropical Tamarind Plant has great economic value and benefits for society, from the stems to the leaves it can be used to treat diseases, such as fever, dyspepsia and even gonorrhoea. The chemical components of Tamarind seeds include alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, glycosides, malic acid, tartrate, pectin, arabinose, xylose, galactose and glucose. Objective: The study was directed to determine the activity of ethanol extract from tamarind seeds in reducing uric acid in mice. Methods: Preparation of dry extract of Tamarind seeds (EKBAJ), phytochemical screening, and testing the activity of reducing uric acid in mice induced by potassium oxonate at various concentrations of EKBAJ. Measure the levels with Easy Touch GCU. Results: EKBAJ can inhibit mouse uric acid synthesis. The higher the concentration of EKBAJ, the greater the effect on reducing uric acid levels. Conclusion: A concentration of 200 mg/kgBW had the greatest effect on reducing uric acid in mice.

Abstract

Malnutrition in toddlers is a significant health problem, especially in the working area of the Jembatan Kecil Health Center, Bengkulu City, with a prevalence of 0.8%. Factors such as limited access to health services, minimal nutrition education, and family economic conditions also affect this problem. The impact of malnutrition is very large, affecting children's physical health and cognitive development. The purpose of this service is to improve the nutritional status of toddlers and pregnant women in SEZs through assistance and provision of supplementary food (PMT). The method used is a comprehensive nutrition intervention approach, targeting undernourished toddlers aged 6-60 months and pregnant women with KEK. The activity began with village community deliberations (MMD) and continued with the measurement of nutritional status and the provision of nutrition education and PMT. The assistance was carried out for 3 days, with monitoring of the nutritional development of toddlers and pregnant women. The results showed an average weight increase of 0.1 kg after PMT in the form of formula milk. Although the increase in maternal knowledge about nutrition is quite significant, there are challenges in the implementation of education due to attention disorders due to children's conditions. Nevertheless, education to pregnant women in SEZs has succeeded in increasing their knowledge about nutrition. In conclusion, mentoring and providing PMT in a targeted manner can improve the nutritional status of toddlers and parental awareness, although it requires continuous efforts in monitoring and education for more optimal results.

Abstract

Islam has significantly influenced the history and growth of civilization in Indonesia. The arrival of Islam in the archipelago was a key event in the nation's history. This is because Islam transformed not only religion but also politics, society, the economy, culture, and education. Islam came to Indonesia peacefully, slowly, and without coercion. This distinguishes it from the spread of other religions in other parts of the world. This qualitative research uses literature review methods to examine the history and how Islam arrived in Indonesia. Based on the researchers' findings, we can conclude that Islam entered Indonesia slowly, peacefully, and gradually. Traders, religious teachers, and local leaders spread the religion through social and cultural interactions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of a humanistic counseling approach (client-centered) in assisting students who experience a decline in life enthusiasm and self-expression due to social pressures at school. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study design involving a seventh-grade student who exhibited behavioral changes from being cheerful to withdrawn and apathetic. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and counseling reflection notes, validated through source triangulation. The results indicate that the implementation of empathy, unconditional positive regard, and reflection of feelings in individual, group, and classroom counseling effectively facilitated the student’s emotional recovery, fostered a positive self-concept, and enhanced learning motivation and self-expression. The client-centered approach proved effective in helping the student restore socio-emotional balance and rebuild self-confidence.
