Abstract

Mathematics is a tool to simplify the presentation and understanding of problems. Every business actor must do what is called an economic principle, namely that with a little effort or capital it can generate large profits, so that optimization problems arise. The simplex method is an algorithmic procedure that is used to calculate and store a lot of numbers in the initial iterations and for decision making in subsequent iterations. The simplex method is a method commonly used to solve every problem in linear programming where a combination of variables consists or two or more variables. The aim of this research is to optimize daily profit at Viola Batunirwala restaurant. This research is literary by examining journals and books in accordance with the field under study. The steps to optimize daily profit include : (1) Observation, (2) Data Collection, (3) Optimizing daily profit using the simplex method. The results of calculations using the simplex method show that the production applied to the Viola Batunirwala Restaurant is optimal. Profit in one production is Rp. 373.762.

Abstract

Regional development is one of the problems that are often faced by PDAM. The development of the area is the development of a water pipe distribution network. The more people there are, the more people will find it difficult to get optimal drinking water because they leak it without thinking about other peoples. As an example of the problem of regional development, there are several areas that have not received water from PDAM, this shows that the distribution of clean water isn’t optimal. In an effort to overcome these problems, an action is needed to optimize the pipe leaks. The purpose of this study is to minimize the leaks of the primary pipe by using the concept of applying the domination set of graph theory. The research steps carried out by researchers include data collection, determining the domination set, and distribution of drinking water pipelines. The comparison of the total initial primary pipe leaks points is 80 points that dominate 117 house points and by minimizing the primary pipe leaks by applying the concept of the domination set to 44 points that dominate 117 house points there is a reduction of 36 primary pipe leaks points that will be closed. The data concludes that the concept of the domination set on the graph can be used to find the optimal network in the PDAM water distribution network.

Abstract

In the academic world, the preparation of the lecture schedule on campus is related to the division of time, the availability of lecturers in each department and the availibility of lecture rooms. In the preparation of the lecture schedule, conflicts often occur between one schedule on another due to the limitations of the study space which is not balanced with the number of study groups, the room used for lectures is only four rooms while the study group has nine classes, namely in the first semester there are two classes, the third semster there are three classes, the fifth semester there are two classes, the seventh semester there are two classes. The informatics engineering department in the preparation of the lecture schedule is still manually so it takes a lot of time in its preparation. Schedule problems can be overcome with a technique that can optimize the preparation of the lecture schedule. One technique that can solve this problem is graph coloring, namely point coloring by utilizing the Welch-Powell algorithm so that an optimal solution is obtained with coloring results, namely the same color conducting lectures on the same day with different times and spaces

Abstract

The outbreak of COVID 19 has resulted in educational institutions implementing an online learning system and the impact on students' declining abilities in mathematics. This service activity aims to help students understand the material about the basics of counting outside of school hours. This service activity was carried out at the Ebenhaezer Mabu Congregation, Alor Regency with the target of junior high school students in the area. This activity was carried out for 6 meetings, starting with the pretest and ending with the posttest. This activity is said to be successful because of the positive response from students and parents to this activity and an increase in scores between the pretest and posttest.

Abstract

 Diagram making training using Microsoft Excel is a community service carried out at the Toyg State Junior High School, which is in the Toyg Village, Alor Regency. This activity was carried out for 1 day during the training. This training aims to make students understand how to present diagrams using Microsoft Excel. The material provided has been prepared before the training, namely regarding the presentation of data with diagrams in the statistics subject. The method used is presentation and then direct practice is carried out by students. The obstacle at school is that there are no computer facilities so this is a new thing for them and they are very enthusiastic about participating in this training, so that the children quickly understand what they are being trained to do.

Abstract

Counting for some children is a difficult and boring activity, this has an impact on children's interest in mathematics is low. Therefore it is necessary to make efforts to increase children's interest in mathematics. A creative, innovative and interactive and fun learning process can increase children's interest and ability towards mathematics. Besides that, fun counting activities can increase a love for mathematics and counting, this is the goal of this community service activity. Multiplication by using the jarimatics method can help students more easily understand and remember multiplication one (1) to nine (9). The target of this service is all elementary school-age children in Alaang Village, Alor Barat Laut District, Alor Regency-NTT. These activities can run with the support of the Alaang Village government and all the community, our learning activities are carried out in the open, namely the shores of Alaang beach, with the concept of learning while playing. The enthusiasm of the children was high and they were interested in and really enjoyed the process of learning to count multiplication with fingers.Keywords: Calculate Multiplication, Jarimatika method.

Abstract

This study aims to introduce the concept of graph coloring using the Welch – Powell algorithm in an effort to help related parties, in this case the government in the Alor Island region, to facilitate the coloring of village maps. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative research method which aims to explain a phenomenon by using numbers that describe the characteristics of the subject under study. The results of graph coloring made in this study produce at least 5 colors needed to color the map. The number of vertices (villages) on the Alor Island map is 120, and the chromatic number in the graph of the Village map on Alor Island is 5 (. The vertices (villages on Alor Island) can be colored using only five colors, and between Villages that border each other have different colors.

Abstract

Mathematics is a subject that is considered difficult and frightening for almost all students, so that their interest in learning decreases and impacts their academic achievement in that subject. This encourages the importance of this community service activity to foster students' love for mathematics and open their horizons about the importance of mathematics in everyday life. Mathematical games can make students enthusiastic about taking mathematics lessons, while the implementation of mathematics in everyday life can open up insight for them about the importance of mathematics. The target of this activity is class VIII students of SMP Negeri Wakapsir. This activity went well without any problems due to the good reception from the Head, Staff, and Teachers of SMP Negeri Wakapsir, especially the mathematics teacher, and was complemented by the enthusiasm of the students who participated in this activity in listening, listening, and being actively involved in participating this activity. The results obtained from this activity were in the form of differences in students' views regarding mathematics between before and after the activity, where views that were initially negative became positive after going through this service activity.

Abstract

Visual aids are tools that can stimulate students' thoughts, skills, attention and willingness so that they can encourage the learning process in students, besides that using teaching aids can provide space for students to be actively involved in every learning process. In fact, in Toyang State Junior High School, mathematics learning has not used visual aids. The props created and used are number pattern boxes made of used cardboard, which are designed in such an attractive way to form several number pattern boxes consisting of: square, rectangular and triangular boxes. This visual aid is used in the learning process for class VIII students of SMP Negeri Toyang. This training aims to help foster the creativity of students and improve students' ability to use teaching aids. The result of this training is that students get new experiences by learning to use visual aids, this can be seen from the enthusiasm of the students who are very large and students more easily understand the concept of number patterns

Abstract

The Teaching Campus Program provides opportunities for students to learn outside the classroom by becoming teacher partners in the learning process at the educational level. Through this program the role of students is needed to provide better learning to schools and hone creativity. In addition, during the assignment, students are also given the task of assisting the administration at the school where the assignment is. As for what we do on the sidelines of the activities that we program, we also help with school administration in accordance with directions from the school and school operators.
