Abstract

Counting for some children is a difficult and boring activity, this has an impact on children's interest in mathematics is low. Therefore it is necessary to make efforts to increase children's interest in mathematics. A creative, innovative and interactive and fun learning process can increase children's interest and ability towards mathematics. Besides that, fun counting activities can increase a love for mathematics and counting, this is the goal of this community service activity. Multiplication by using the jarimatics method can help students more easily understand and remember multiplication one (1) to nine (9). The target of this service is all elementary school-age children in Alaang Village, Alor Barat Laut District, Alor Regency-NTT. These activities can run with the support of the Alaang Village government and all the community, our learning activities are carried out in the open, namely the shores of Alaang beach, with the concept of learning while playing. The enthusiasm of the children was high and they were interested in and really enjoyed the process of learning to count multiplication with fingers.Keywords: Calculate Multiplication, Jarimatika method.

Abstract

Mathematics is a subject that is considered difficult and frightening for almost all students, so that their interest in learning decreases and impacts their academic achievement in that subject. This encourages the importance of this community service activity to foster students' love for mathematics and open their horizons about the importance of mathematics in everyday life. Mathematical games can make students enthusiastic about taking mathematics lessons, while the implementation of mathematics in everyday life can open up insight for them about the importance of mathematics. The target of this activity is class VIII students of SMP Negeri Wakapsir. This activity went well without any problems due to the good reception from the Head, Staff, and Teachers of SMP Negeri Wakapsir, especially the mathematics teacher, and was complemented by the enthusiasm of the students who participated in this activity in listening, listening, and being actively involved in participating this activity. The results obtained from this activity were in the form of differences in students' views regarding mathematics between before and after the activity, where views that were initially negative became positive after going through this service activity.

Abstract

This service aims to improve learning outcomes and the process of learning mathematics in this case, number patterns that are more active, creative and enjoyable. The process of learning mathematics in school-age children greatly influences when they go to school later. Some students feel that learning number patterns is helped and some students feel very difficult, this service activity is supported by the Student Creativity program that passed the Ministry's grant funding. The process of learning number patterns greatly impacts when they learn mathematics in this case, number patterns, therefore we are present in delivering material about number patterns in the village of Talim Preparation, North Central Alor District, Alor Regency. This activity went well, the results obtained by many students began to develop in terms of learning number patterns. The activity was carried out in the village office room, the enthusiasm of junior high school students was very good. In the process of learning mathematics about number patterns by applying realistic, it can run well and can improve the quality and learning outcomes of junior high school students.
