Abstract

This research explores the integration of technology into fable narratives as a means of introducing digital literacy to children, thus, it aims at investigating the perspectives of three experienced literature lecturers on how technology can be embedded within fable stories, focusing on narrative structure and moral conflicts. Employing a qualitative research design with a narrative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with literature. Thematic analysis was used to interpret the findings. Results reveal a shared view that technology should not merely serve as a narrative backdrop but should catalyse critical reflections on ethical, social, and personal dimensions of digital life. Fables are seen as an adaptable medium to instil both traditional values and modern critical thinking about technology. The study concludes that technologically infused fables have the potential to enrich children’s literature, balancing aesthetic integrity with the demands of digital literacy. It is suggested that future research expands into creating and testing specific fable models within educational settings. Keywords: Fable, Technology, Children’s Literature, Digital Literacy

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose: This research examines contemporary literature perspectives on the prevention and management of early childhood exploitation. Despite growing global attention to child protection, there remains a critical need to synthesize evidence-based approaches that effectively address various forms of exploitation affecting young children. This study aims to identify the most prevalent forms of exploitation, evaluate current prevention and intervention strategies, and provide evidence-based recommendations for comprehensive child protection programs. The significance lies in its systematic analysis of recent literature to inform policy and practice in safeguarding vulnerable children. Methodology: A systematic literature review was conducted analyzing scientific articles published between 2018-2023. Data were retrieved from leading electronic databases using predefined inclusion criteria. A total of 48 selected articles were systematically reviewed and analyzed to identify patterns in exploitation types, prevention strategies, intervention programs, and their effectiveness. Thematic synthesis was employed to categorize findings and assess evidence quality across different protection approaches and contexts. Results : The analysis identified five primary forms of early childhood exploitation: labor exploitation (43%), sexual exploitation (27%), early marriage (18%), exploitation in armed conflict (7%), and online exploitation (5%). Multisectoral programs integrating educational, economic, and legal aspects demonstrated highest effectiveness. Comprehensive trauma recovery programs showed 73% success rate in short-term outcomes, while school-based education (68%) and family strengthening programs (42%) proved effective for long-term prevention. Technology-based solutions offered innovative approaches but faced challenges including data privacy concerns, digital divide, and sustainability issues. Effective policy reform requires strong political commitment, rights-based approaches, and clear accountability mechanisms. Conclusions: This research underscores the importance of evidence-based, multisectoral approaches in preventing and managing early childhood exploitation. Findings highlight the necessity of local contextualization and active child participation in developing protection programs. Future interventions should integrate comprehensive support systems addressing immediate trauma recovery while strengthening families and educational institutions for sustained prevention. Policymakers must prioritize child rights, ensure intersectoral collaboration, and leverage technology responsibly to create effective and sustainable child protection systems.

Abstract

The integration of digital media in early childhood education has become increasingly prevalent, yet understanding pre-service teachers' perceptions toward its role in stimulating language creativity remains limited. This mixed-methods study examined 95 pre-service early childhood teachers' perceptions of digital media for language creativity stimulation. Using a structured questionnaire with 21 Likert-scale items and three open-ended questions, we assessed six dimensions: importance of language creativity, readiness and competence, perceptions of digital media, teaching methods, frequency and effectiveness, and barriers and challenges. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative responses underwent thematic analysis. Results revealed an overall high perception (M = 4.353), with the highest scores for importance of language creativity (M = 4.703) and readiness and competence (M = 4.532). Participants demonstrated strong awareness of digital media benefits, with 77.9% emphasizing vocabulary enhancement, while acknowledging significant challenges including infrastructure limitations (41.1%) and content appropriateness concerns (38.9%). The study contributes to understanding pre-service teachers' preparedness for technology integration in developing country contexts and highlights the need for comprehensive technological pedagogical content knowledge development in teacher education programs to support effective digital media integration in early childhood language education.
