Abstract

STEM PBL emphasizes integrating several aspects of science, such as technology and design, where in this aspect, there will be an innovative engineering process based on science and mathematics that aims to carry out innovation and problem-solving. The research design is a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test control group design—the tests conducted by pre-test and post-test of the learning process in experiment and control groups. The experiment and the control group were conducted in two classes with different treatments; the experiment class used the PBL STEM model, while the control class was treated using a conventional model. The results present that the average percentage of the student’s problem-solving in the experiments class increased after implementing the STEM PBL model. More students were experts in all aspects of problem-solving in the post-test compared with the pre-test.

Abstract

This research and development aims to produce e-modules based on epub plant structure and development that are valid, practical and effective. The development of teaching materials follows the ADDIE instructional design model. The instruments used were epub-based e-module validation sheets by expert lecturers as well as student response questionnaires and science literacy pretest-posttest scores which were analyzed using the One-Way Ancova test. The results of research and development show the acquisition of a validation score by teaching material experts of 100%, Material experts by 100%, education practitioners by 99%, student response results by 87.05% and efficiency results of 0.013<0.05 so that the use of Epub-based e-modules is effective in the learning process, it can be concluded that EPUB-based e-modules are classified as very valid, very practical and effective as teaching materials that can be used by students.

Abstract

This research is a research and development of Microbiology Handout on the topic "Antibacterial Test on Bacterial Growth Inhibition" which uses natural materials, namely star fruit extract (Averrhoa carambola L.), which will be used as teaching materials in the learning process to help improve students' science process skills. The purpose of developing Microbiology Handout is to produce teaching materials that are valid, practical and effective for use in learning Microbiology subjects. Microbiology Handout development uses the ADDIE development model. Validation of Microbiology Handouts was carried out by learning media and teaching material expert validators, Microbiology material experts, and Microbiology learning practitioner expert validators. The Microbiology Handout trial was conducted through three stages of trials, namely a one-to-one trial of 3 students, a small group trial of 10 students, and a field trial of 15 students. The effectiveness of Microbiology Handout in improving students' science process skills can be seen through pretest and posttest scores analyzed using the IBM SPSS version 26 application through the One Way Ancova test. The results of research and development show the acquisition of validation scores by learning media and teaching material experts of 100%, Microbiology material experts of 94.3%, education practitioner experts of 99.64%, student response results of 91.43% and efficiency results of 0.028
