Abstract

Abstract. Electrical energy has become a staple for humans. Almost all human activities always require electrical energy. To maintain the availability of electricity at any time, then it takes the process of global electricity savings. The electricity savings can be done in two ways, the first is the development of technology to make electric appliances that require low power for operation and the second is to improve human behavior in the use of electrical appliances (turning off electrical appliances when not in use). This research aims to create a centralized smart home that can help people to monitor the condition of electrical appliances in the house and turn off automatically when not being used. Besides this system could also be used in manual mode and be controlled remotely using a smartphone through the Internet. The system is made centrally so not only for the home but can be used for many homes. After application was implemented it can monitored which device is turned on or turned off.Keywords: Smart Home, Monitoring and Power Savings

Abstract

Instead of thermometer, an infrared camera could be uti-lized to scan body temperature instantly and non-contact. This paperproposed a non-contact measurement of human body temperature by au-tomatically locating inner-chantus on thermal images. The inner-canthuswere detected in both eyes individually. It located inner-canthi based ontemperature where inner-canthi has the highest temperature in face area.A Thresholding based on 9-highest temperature were applied to detectcandidates of inner-canthus' blob as it must have minimum 9 pixel areaaccording to the Standard. Three knowledge based on characteristic ofeye were also applied in the algorithm as several spot in face usuallyfalls within the temperature threshold. The result show accuracy of al-gorithm to detect eye is 82% whether the eyelids were open or closed.There is no signicant dierent of temperature between closed and openeyes based on paired t-test. The algorithm also showed similar result tothermometer measurement based on paired t-test.

Abstract

Distortion for 3D printing using Selective Laser Melting (SLM) on AlSi10Mg aluminium is an important issue that affects the final manufactured product. This research aims to develop a finite element method (FEM)-based computational simulation and experimental validation to predict distortion in 3D printed products using SLM. The study results found that the variation of 3D printing position affects the resulting product's distortion and mechanical properties. The 90° part print position results in smaller distortion of 0.303 and 0.335 mm than the 0° part print position of 0.329 and 0.378, respectively, making it more suitable for high-precision applications. This study confirms the importance of scan orientation in controlling distortion in the SLM process, which can be used as a guide for optimal printing parameters. With proper orientation selection, the risk of distortion or defects in SLM products can be minimised, and industrial production efficiency can be improved.

Abstract

Sampah plastik menjadi salah satu permasalahan lingkungan yang terus meningkat akibat penggunaan plastik sekali pakai dan rendahnya efisiensi dalam proses daur ulang, di mana salah satu faktor utama yang mempengaruhi efektivitas daur ulang adalah pemilahan sampah plastik yang tepat. Proses pemilahan manual memerlukan tenaga kerja dan waktu yang besar serta rentan terhadap kesalahan, sehingga pada penelitian ini dikembangkan sistem pemilah sampah plastik otomatis berbasis Raspberry Pi dengan dukungan kamera, motor servo, dan konveyor. Sistem ini menggunakan algoritma YOLOv5 untuk melakukan deteksi dan klasifikasi objek secara real-time serta pustaka OpenCV untuk menangani pemrosesan citra, di mana kamera menangkap gambar sampah plastik yang bergerak di atas konveyor kemudian Raspberry Pi melakukan inferensi terhadap citra tersebut dan mengarahkan objek ke jalur sortir menggunakan motor servo sesuai dengan hasil klasifikasi. Model dilatih menggunakan dataset dari Roboflow dengan proses pelatihan dilakukan di Google Colab, sedangkan hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu mengklasifikasikan botol plastik dan plastik lainnya dengan akurasi sebesar 47,5%. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa rancangan sistem yang dikembangkan telah dapat berfungsi sesuai dengan tujuan utama dan berpotensi untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi berupa prototype sistem pemilah sampah plastik otomatis yang dapat dijadikan dasar untuk penelitian lanjutan dalam meningkatkan akurasi deteksi serta keandalan sistem di masa depan.
