Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explore how students at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya, utilize cyber religion as an alternative source of Islamic learning in the digital era. It investigates their preferred platforms, motivations, types of content consumed, engagement patterns, and perceptions of online religious authority. Methods – Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research collected data through non-participatory observation, in-depth interviews with 15 students, and document analysis of digital artifacts. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns across the data, supported by triangulation to ensure validity. Findings – The results indicate that students actively use platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Islamic websites for religious learning. Their engagement is driven by both academic and personal motives, with fiqh and aqidah being the most frequently accessed topics. Students demonstrate selective trust in digital preachers, forming hybrid models of religious authority. While cyber religion enhances religious understanding, it also raises concerns about information credibility and theological consistency. Research implications – The study highlights the need for Islamic higher education institutions to integrate digital literacy into their curricula, enabling students to critically evaluate online religious content. It also suggests a reevaluation of how authority and authenticity are framed in contemporary Islamic learning environments. Value – This research contributes a localized, empirical analysis of cyber religion among university students in Indonesia. It bridges theoretical concepts of digital religion with real-world student practices, offering insights into the transformation of religious learning in a digitally connected society.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need to optimize the management of productive zakat as an instrument for empowering the community's economy, not just for consumption. The East Kutai National Zakat Agency (Baznas) was the object of study because it successfully implemented a structured productive zakat distribution model that has a real impact on the community. The purpose of this study is to analyze the distribution pattern of productive zakat by the East Kutai Baznas and assess its effectiveness in increasing the economic independence of mustahik (recipients). The research method used is a qualitative descriptive case study approach, through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of Baznas managers and beneficiaries. The results show that the productive zakat distribution model implemented through the Kutim Sejahtera program integrates capital assistance, entrepreneurship training, business mentoring, and marketing partnerships. Data from 2023–2024 shows an increase in productive zakat funds of 338.8% and a 162.5% increase in the number of beneficiaries, indicating the model's effectiveness in increasing the community's economic capacity. The findings of this study indicate that productive zakat can shift the recipient's paradigm from a consumptive to a productive one. The implications of this research emphasize that institutional strengthening, digitalization of monitoring systems, and cross-sector collaboration are important factors in maintaining the sustainability of productive zakat as a just and effective Islamic economic instrument.

Abstract

Violence in the name of religion continues to sprout within Indonesian society. This article aims to describe the religious conflict resolution model of the NU Ansor Youth Movement and the Muhammadiyah Youth of the Paciran Lamongan Branch. This research employs a qualitative method with a sociological approach to religion, and data collection was conducted through interviews and the study of relevant literature. The findings of this study indicate that: 1) Both the NU Ansor Youth Movement and Muhammadiyah Youth reject violent models of preaching. 2) There is a difference in attitude towards perpetrators of violence, where the NU Ansor Youth Movement tends to adopt a non-accommodative firm stance, unequivocally rejecting and insisting that perpetrators of violence must be punished according to legal statutes, whereas Muhammadiyah Youth exhibits a firm-accommodative attitude, sternly condemning acts of violence but remaining willing to embrace and invite the perpetrators back to a tolerant and inclusive understanding. 3) The media of resolution employed include issuing advisory letters, press releases to the media, dialogues among community elements, conveying deradicalization insights through religious study sessions (Yasinan and Tahlilan), and the formation of Densus 99 Anti-Terror. 4) The conflict resolution model consists of two stages: long-term, aiming to build cadre awareness of the importance of a tolerant attitude and peaceful living through education, training, social and economic empowerment, ideological development, and the distribution of cadres to the public domain; and short-term, wherein preaching programs are executed sporadically and reactively at the time or after acts of violence to prevent the expansion and escalation of conflict.

Abstract

Perpustakaan merupakan sumber ilmu dan pusat informasi yang sangat penting bagi perkembangan dunia pendidikan. Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Pati merupakan perpustakaan umum satu-satunya di Kabupaten Pati. Penataan ruang Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Pati, belum sepenuhnya memperhatikan prinsip penataan ruang perpustakaan, sehingga kedepanya perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif dengan tujuan menganalisa zonasi ruang Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Pati, serta menganalisa tata letak ruang perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Pati, berdasarkan prinsip penataan ruang perpustakaan menurut Lasa Hs (2007 : 202) dan menganalisa besaran perabot berdasarkan neufert. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa terdapat empat kategori zonasi, berupa area buku, area pelayanan, area baca, dan area pendukung lain. Menurut hasil observasi yang dilakukan di Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Pati, mengenai kondisi Sarana dan prasarana Perpustakaan Kabupaten Pati, serta penataan ruangnya, Sebagaian besar sudah memenuhi prinsip penataan ruang yang baik, tetapi sebagian masih ada yang perlu untuk  diperbaiki maupun ditingkakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pustakawan dan pemustaka. Penataan ruang yang sudah baik diantaranya yaitu, ruang yang memerlukan konsentrasi sudah dipisah, ruang yang bersifat pelayanan umum sudah ditempatkan di lokasi setrategis, perabot perpus sudah disusun dalam garis lurus dan lebar koridor sudah sesuai standar, namun diantara itu masih ada yang perlu diperbaiki atauppun ditigkatkan, yaitu besaran perabot sebagian belum sesuai standar neufert, jarak sirkulasi antar rak buku masih sempit belum sesuai standar, dan penempatan ruang dengan tugas yang hampir sama sebagian belum ditempatkan secara berdekatan.Kata Kunci:  Penataan,  Perpustakaan, Tata Letak AbstractThe library is a source of knowledge and information center which is very important for the development of education. Pati Regency Public Library is the only public library in Pati Regency. The spatial arrangement of the Pati Regency Public Library has not fully paid attention to the principles of library spatial planning, so that in the future it needs to be improved. This research was conducted using a descriptive method with the aim of analyzing the spatial zoning of the Pati Regency Public Library, as well as analyzing the room layout of the Pati Regency Public Library, based on the principles of library spatial arrangement according to Lasa Hs (2007: 202) and analyzing the amount of furniture based on neufert. The results of the study stated that there were four zoning categories, namely the book area, service area, reading area, and other supporting areas. According to the results of observations made at the Pati Regency Public Library, regarding the condition of the Pati Regency Library facilities and infrastructure, as well as their spatial planning, most of them have fulfilled the principles of good spatial planning, but some still need to be repaired or increased to meet the needs of librarians and users. . Spatial planning that is already good includes rooms that require concentration that have been separated, spaces that are public services have been placed in strategic locations, library furniture has been arranged in straight lines and the width of the corridors is up to standard, but among them there are still things that need to be repaired or increased , namely the amount of furniture is partly not according to the Neufert standard, the circulation distance between the bookshelves is still narrow, not according to the standard, and the placement of rooms with almost the same tasks, some of them have not been placed close together.

Abstract

Tuisan ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran peta pemikiran aktivis mahasiswa di Lamongan Indonesia terhadap gerakan Islam radikal (ISIS). Gerakan ISIS menjadi fenomena internasional dan nasional yang banyak dikecam oleh masyarakat. Kecaman tersebut disebabkan aksi dakwah yang digunakan dengan simbol Islam namun prilakunya sangat jauh dengan nilai-nilai Islam (membunuh, merampok, dll). Penyebaran ISIS juga luar biasa massif dikalangan masyarakat termasuk dikalangan kaum muda (mahasiswa), banyak terlibat. Sehingga fokus penelitian ini adalah para aktivis mahasiswa di Lamongan. Dengan memfokuskan pada aktivis mahasiswa, kita akan dapat mengetahui (memahami) pandangan mereka, maka kita dapat melakukan antisipasi atau kebijakan berkaitan dengan program deradikalisasi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah observasi, wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi. Informan peneitian adalah aktivis mahasiswa di Lamongan. Analisa data yang digunakan dengan analisa data multidisiplin keilmuan. Hasil penelitian, pertama: secara garis besar pandangan para aktivis mahasiswa (IMM, HMI, PMII) Lamongan adalah menolak akan aksi-aksi yang dilakukan oleh gerakan Islam radikal (ISIS), karena aksi-aksi kekearasn yang dilakuakn ISIS bertentangan dengan idologi gerakan mereka dan tidak sesuai dengan ajaran Islam yang rahmatalil’alamin penuh dengan tolerasi moderasi dan penuh kesantunan. ISIS hanya memanfaatkan Islam sebagai alat legitimasi untuk memenuhi kepentingan ekonomi-politiknya, karena dengan menggunakan Islam diharapkan dapat dukungan dari umat Islam di seluruh dunia. Kedua, respon aktivis mahasiswa (IMM, HMI, PMII) Lamongan terbagi dua, respon secara internal dan respon secara ekstrenal (Pemerintah). Pertama, respon secara internal dari ketiga gerakan mahasiswa tersebut (IMM, PMII, HMI) memiliki kemiripan yang sama, yaitu untuk merespon gerakan ISIS dengan dilakukan adalah penguatan internal kader dengan mengintefsikan kajian-kajian Keislaman Moderat dan penguatan pengakaderan melalui DAD (IMM), LK (HMI), PKD (PMII). Kedua, respon secara eksternal (pemeritah) bervariatif, PMII mengatakan pemerintah Lamongan sudah responsif dan maksimal terhadap penanganan isu dan gerakan Islam radikal di Lamongan, sementara aktivis IMM dan HMI, mendorong Pemerintah untuk lebih responsif terhadap aksi-aksi Islam radikal di Lamongan, sehingga dapat meminimalisir citra Lamongan yang selama ini dianggap sebagai Kota Teroris.   Keywords: Peta Pemikiran, Aktivis Mahasiswa, Gerakan Radikal Islam

Abstract

This research explains about the rise of Muhammadiyah’s Islamic da’wah in the contemporary era. In particular, this study aims to describe the transformation of Muhammadiyah’s Islamic da’wah through social media and its response to Islamic moderation in Indonesia. The transformation of online da’wah was absolute, because it was based on the spread of ideology and narration of religious extremism that had been spreading on social media in the last two decades. This research used qualitative approach by strengthening the argumentation building on the research topic through descriptive analysis based on extracting data in the field. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews and documentation from various Muhammadiyah online da’wah sites. This research found a new and very important thesis issue, Muhammadiyah experienced a positive trend in strengthening Islamic da’wah strategies on social media. The rise was marked by an increase in the number of new online da’wah portals affiliated with Muhammadiyah. The various da’wah sites seemed innovative and creative in content and professional from the management side, as well as voicing the narrative of Islamic moderation.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Progressive Islamic ideology promoted by Muhammadiyah within a traditional Muslim community in Waru Barat Village, Pamekasan, Madura. The socio-religious structure of the community, characterized by the dominance of Islamic boarding schools, the central authority of kiai, and deeply rooted cultural obedience, has shaped a gradual and often resistant response to reformist ideas. This research employs a qualitative field study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive-interpretative methods within sociological and historical frameworks. The findings reveal that ideological transformation did not occur instantly but evolved through cultural negotiation and persuasive da’wah strategies. In its initial phase, the movement encountered ideological rigidity, religious exclusivism, and symbolic conflict. However, through strengthening educational institutions as Muhammadiyah’s charitable enterprises, Progressive Islamic values were gradually internalized. Education functioned as a strategic instrument in reducing ideological tensions and fostering a more rational, inclusive, and adaptive religious outlook without erasing local identity. This study highlights that ideological transformation in traditional societies requires dialogical, contextual, and long-term approaches
