Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mengetahui kendala komunikasi lintas budaya yang terjadi di antara penjamu wisatawan (hosts) dan wisatawan asing (surfers), motif pengguna Couchsurfing yang menjadi penjamu wisatawan (hosts) di Kota Bandung, serta mengetahui konsep diri dari pengguna Couchsurfing yang menjadi hosts di kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan Fenomenologi dari Alfred Schutz. Ada pun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam (In-depth Interview), serta observasi yang dilakukan terhadap 7 (tujuh) orang informan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motif pengguna Couchsurfing Bandung menjadi penjamu wisatawan (hosts) terbagi menjadi motif eksistensi diri, dan motif pemenuhan diri. Sedangkan kendala komunikasi lintas budaya yang dihadapi oleh hosts dan surfers terbagi ke dalam tiga tahapan yaitu pre-hosting, on-going hosting, dan post-hosting. Konsep diri yang muncul dari pengguna Couchsurfing ini terbagi ke dalam dua hal yaitu sebagai komunikator yang peka akan penggunaan pesan non-verbal, serta sebagai aktor multikultural.

Abstract

Kreativitas para sineas di Indonesia dapat dikatakan masih statis, dilihat dari minimnya genre-genre film yang ada di tanah air. Kebanyakan genre film di Indonesia hanya seputar drama romantik, komedi, horor, dan seks yag inti ceritanya sama sekali tidak memiliki unsur edukasi (mendidik), jangan hanya kemasan di buat berbeda. Hal ini yang semakin mengurangi pudarny rasa nasionalisme masyarakat Indonesia khususnya dikalangan mahasiswa. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan verifikatif, yakni hasil penelitian yang kemudian diolah dan diambil kesimpulan. Metode deskriptif untuk menggambarkan permasalahan dan metode verifikatif untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh rumusan masalah. Tentunya terdapat pengaruh antara skenario dan gambar pada rasa nasionalisme mahasiswa. Begitu juga antara skenario dan rasa nasionalisme mahasiswa. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis skenario dan gambar pada film "Ayo Pulang Kampung" memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap rasa nasionalisme mahasiswa brodcasting BSI Jakarta.

Abstract

The emergence of new media, one of which is the social media TikTok, in mass communication has had a significant impact, especially on the dissemination of news information on this new media, so that many news media have taken part in using TikTok as an alternative forum for spreading their news, such as the Inspira TV news media. This research aims to show the role of TikTok as an alternative forum for disseminating news information for Inspira TV. This research uses a qualitative approach method and the study used is a case study with a constructivist research paradigm and is assisted by new media theory. Research data was collected using in-depth interviews and online observations. The results of this research are that the strategy used by Inspira TV is in the information processing process which is made straightforward and clear, as well as in the implementation process using several elements contained in the new TikTok media. The comments on the Inspira TV news account are varied, including positive, negative and zero feedback. The difference felt by the Inspira TV news media in disseminating its news is its affordability, the dissemination process, and the content of the news. So Inspira TV as a news media considers that the role of social media TikTok in disseminating the latest news. Inspira TV is still not effective enough, because it still has limitations and shortcomings in processing news..

Abstract

Along with the current development of the internet, social media has become a broad and easy-to-use means for people to interact attractively and can be accessed anywhere and at any time. Through social media, someone can express themselves, share thoughts and knowledge, increase relationships or networks, and build personal branding, such as on the @istiqmhhhhhhh account. This research aims to see the fact that Instagram can build a personal personal branding through Islamic motivations on social media. Istiqomah is a Muslim content creator who builds personal branding on her Instagram account through Islamic motivational content and productivity as a Muslim. This research is a qualitative descriptive research assisted by symbolic interaction theory which uses data sourced from in-depth interviews during online observations. The results of this research are Istiqomah's strategy, type of content, and consistency in building its personal branding on Instagram social media. This requires someone to be able to adapt to changes and remain relevant in building personal branding.

Abstract

Background: The cultural practice of inheritance through the female lineage, known as matrilineal relationship, is built on the belief in inheritance values that women are more appropriate to be heirs. However, belief alone is not enough to build a shared commitment to maintain the cultural relationship of the matrilineal system. Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the process of matrilineal cultural relations in the interpersonal relationships of the indigenous people of Kampung Pulo, Garut. Methods: It employed a phenomenological study with a qualitative approach. Data was collected through observation and interviews. The participants were selected purposively with a total of 10 informants consisting of the customary head, deputy customary head, and indigenous people of Kampung Pulo, the original descendants of Embah Dalem Arief Muhammad. Result: This study shows women in the indigenous people of Kampung Pulo play a crucial role in cultural inheritance, especially in preserving heirloom property. Some aspects of interpersonal relationships strengthen matrilineal relationships among the indigenous people of Kampung Pulo. Matrilineal cultural relationships are maintained because they are believed to have values, such as togetherness, harmony, mutual respect, nurturing, and cooperation. Conclusion: The family of the indigenous people of Kampung Pulo is more harmonious with the matrilineal cultural relationship system. The culture is preserved if the members can establish good interpersonal relationships. Implication: The study results are expected to contribute to the cultural preservation in Kampung Pulo, Garut. Besides, it might be worth referring to those who research the matrilineal system, either further research related to its relationship with interpersonal relationships or other fields.

Abstract

Background: Sports tourism is a new approach to growing public interest in sports. Sports tourism is expected to foster interest in sports and build an image of sport tourism as a dual force that can help economic growth. Purpose: The research was conducted at Kiara Artha Park, one of the sports tourism sites in Bandung. The aim is to analyze the stages of forming the image of Kiara Artha sports tourism. Methods: Using a qualitative and phenomenology approach, involving 11 informants: Kiara Artha Park managers, tenants, and visitors. Results: The study results explain that the image built in Kiara Arta Park is a place of recreation with the concept of healthy living. The stages of building the image of Kiara Artha Park begin with the commitment of the management to prepare facilities in the form of green open land designed as a recreational park and exercise. They are also conducting socialization in conventional media, building sports community support, and managing community participation of social media users. Conclusion: The image of Kiara Artha Park as a tourist sport place is built through public awareness as users need a place to exercise and recreation. The two combined concepts encourage interest in maintaining a healthy life. Thus, the type of image formed is a user image or image built by consumers based on personal needs related to personality, lifestyle, and social status. Implications: The results of this study can provide input to the management and government of the city of Bandung as a policy in every tourist destination to provide sport tourism facilities as an additional public space that can improve the physical and mental health of the community.

Abstract

Information about tourist attractions is the right of tourists protected by tourism laws and consumer protection. One approach used to fulfill consumer information is through User Generated Content (UGC). This approach serves as virtual branding activities to promote tourist attractions. The content presented must be able to attract visitors' interest. Therefore, there needs to be an effort by tourism managers to provide facilities and tourism infrastructure to ensure visitor comfort. The experiences of tourists will become content published on social media or applications used in User Generated Content (UGC) activities. The purpose of this research is to analyze the motives behind visitors' communal experiences and to analyze the challenges faced by tourism managers in dealing with User Generated Content (UGC) activities. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results obtained indicate that the main motive consciously and collectively built for UGC is to share useful information about tourist attractions through citizen journalism activities. Other results show that the challenges faced by tourism managers in dealing with UGC activities include enhancing facilities, improving tourism accessibility, and increasing cooperation to generate more UGC content by actively involving the community through local activities. One successful example of cooperation is through empowering local residents in the traditional weaving handicraft activities typical of Lombok, which are part of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Abstract

Permasalahan yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah disparitas gender dalam penggunaan Couchsurfing sebagai media pengembangan pariwisata backpacker di Kota Bandung. Sebuah platform online yang memungkinkan wisatawan untuk merasakan “tumpangan menginap gratis” dan mendapatkan pengalaman autentik daripada sekadar mengunjungi tempat-tempat wisata populer. Fenomena penggunaan Couchsurfing merupakan bukti nyata dari pergeseran perilaku wisata yang telah terjadi. Namun demikian, perlu diakui bahwa meskipun fenomena ini mempromosikan pertukaran budaya, harmonisasi budaya seringkali masih sulit tercapai. Sejumlah penelitian terdahulu belum menunjukan pengetahuan terkait ketimpangan/disparitas gender yang terjadi pada penggunaan Couchsurfing. Padahal berdasarkan praktiknya, kendala seperti hambatan bahasa, kesenjangan budaya, disparitas gender, bahkan kejahatan berupa love scamming, pencurian, dan pelecehan seksual kerap terjadi terutama pada wisatawan perempuan. Merujuk pada fokus tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi wacana disparitas gender yang meliputi perspesi aman dan nyaman pengguna Couchsurfing perempuan serta pola interaksi pengguna Couchsurfing lintas gender dalam konteks dimensi budaya Geertz Hofstede. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai dinamika relasi gender dalam ruang digital pariwisata, memperkaya kajian komunikasi lintas budaya, serta menjadi dasar pengembangan strategi komunikasi yang mendorong lingkungan wisata digital yang lebih setara, inklusif, dan berkeadilan gender di masa depan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menyoroti pentingnya literasi digital dalam memperkuat kesadaran wisatawan.
