Abstract

The development of ecotourism based on coastal and marine potential is an appropriate alternative development pattern. Ecologically and economically the coastal and marine areas are very potential to be developed for the prosperity of the community. Mangrove forest is one of the potentials in the coastal area of Rejoso District, Pasuruan Regency with an area of 400,275.40 m2 located in two villages, namely Patuguran Village and Jarangan Village. Rejoso Mangrove Conservation (RMC) as a local resource which is a potential new tourist destination located at the mouth of the Rejoso coastal river. Business Model Canvas (BMC) is one of the relevant methods for answering the needs in creating a RMC ecotourism model design. The results showed that RMC Ecotourism was a diversified type. The main value offered by RMC Ecotourism is fishing tourism services and mangrove forest conservation education. BMC can make it easier for managers to see business integrity more concisely. In addition, the canvas model can also be a reliable media for compiling a series of changes and strategies for running the business.

Abstract

Sea and fisheries are a great potential in Indonesia. Many national development policies and programs are directed towards this sector. Along with the development of information and communication technology that is so fast now, the development policies and programs of the sea sector and fisheries require adjustments, especially in terms of adopting digital-based technology in order to meet the economic needs of the community. The rapid development of technology, the digital world and the internet certainly has an impact on the world of marketing. Digital marketing or marketing done online is also called e-marketing. Market digitalization with the current e-marketing model has become a crucial point in daily activities, including business activities. The indication is the growth of smartphone or android ownership that provides easy internet access, the large number of social media users such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and so on. The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) unit that contributes 61.41% of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is a major power of the Indonesian economy. However, of that amount, 90% of MSME units are still running in the offline domain, even though the data in January 2016 stated that the infrastructure potential of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) covers around 90% of the population with more than 126% mobile penetration rates with internet users reaching 51.8% of the total population of Indonesia. In the preliminary study it was found that there were 45 MSMEs processing seafood and fisheries in the Minapolitan area of Pasuruan Regency assisted by the Indonesian Fishermen Association (HNSI), 11 of which were in Rejoso District. This is because HNSI Pasuruan Regency is headquartered in Patuguran Village, Rejoso District. However, the productivity of a number of MSMEs is still seasonal, due to the very limited market access. Why not, most of these MSMEs are still running offline or conventional. The limitations of skills and information technology tools in the form of smartphones or androids become an obstacle in their development efforts. HNSI Pasuruan Regency was chosen as the first partner in this community partnership program, because HNSI is an organization that is quite intense in conducting guidance for MSMEs, especially in the Minapolitan area of Pasuruan Regency. In addition, the Head of Patuguran Village was chosen as partner II in this community partnership program, because at the end of 2017 he had been awarded the "Maslahat Award" in MSME in Pasuruan Regency.

Abstract

The growing demand for halal-certified food in institutional food services underscores the importance of structured risk management across the raw material supply chain. Despite regulatory requirements, many food service providers still face challenges in identifying and controlling halal-related risks, particularly in upstream processes. This study employed a cross-sectional design and applied the Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) method to assess and prioritize halal risks across eight categories of raw materials. Data were collected from 30 respondents, including procurement staff, team leaders, and crew members, using structured questionnaires and interviews. Risk Priority Numbers (RPNs) were calculated based on severity, occurrence, and detection scores. The findings showed that meat and meat products had the highest RPN (94), indicating a tolerable but high-priority risk requiring strict control measures during procurement. Other categories, such as extra food, snacks, vegetables, fruits, spices, side dishes, and rice, were classified as acceptable risks but still require regular monitoring. These results highlight the effectiveness of the FMECA method in identifying critical Halal Control Points (HCPs) and supporting risk-based decision-making within halal assurance systems. Institutional food service providers are encouraged to adopt quantitative methods, such as FMECA, to enhance the effectiveness of halal risk mitigation strategies. Further studies with a broader scope and cross-industry comparisons are needed to strengthen halal integrity across diverse supply chain contexts.

Abstract

Abstract

The halalness of animal food products, especially chicken meat, is a central issue in the food industry in Indonesia, where the majority of the population is Muslim. Chicken meat is considered a high-risk commodity among consumer food products. This study aimed to identify and evaluate Halal Risk Points (HRPs) in producing male chicken meat in a medium-scale chicken slaughterhouse in Pasuruan Regency, Indonesia. The method used Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), by assessing three main parameters, namely Severity, Occurrence, and Detection to calculate the Risk Priority Number (RPN) of each potential risk in the halal production chain. The analysis was carried out with reference to the national halal slaughter standard of SNI 99002: 2016. A total of 17 risk factors were identified and analyzed at five main stages of production, from chicken arrival to final packaging. The results showed variations in RPN, ranging from acceptable risk categories to extreme risks. The slaughtering stage was the most critical stage, with three HRPs categorized as high extreme risk, including the slaughterer is not halal certified (RPN = 350), the cutting point is not correct (RPN = 378), and the chicken is not completely dead after slaughter (RPN = 420). These risks were directly related to violations of Sharia principles and require immediate mitigation actions. Other moderate to low risks were found in hot water soaking, offal removal, and product labeling stages. This study confirmed that the FMEA method was effective in systematically identifying halal risks in chicken slaughterhouse operations. The findings provide a strong basis for implementing risk mitigation strategies, such as standardization of procedures, labor certification, and utilization of monitoring technology to strengthen halal assurance and regulatory compliance.

Abstract

The garment company UD. Jadi Gumilang is a home-based industry located in Mojotengah Village, Sukorejo District, Pasuruan Regency, East Java. UD. Jadi Gumilang engages in the production of bags, clothes, uniforms, and embroidery, which are produced only when there are customer orders. Frequent damage to the computerized embroidery machine occurs because operators do not perform routine maintenance as per the garment's regulations. To address this issue, the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value was calculated to analyze the major factors causing downtime. OEE itself is the result of multiplying the variables of Availability (90%), Performance (95%), and Quality (99%). After calculating the OEE value, the six big losses values were calculated to identify the highest losses that cause low OEE values. Then, from the highest loss values, a fishbone diagram (cause-and-effect diagram) analysis was conducted to identify the factors causing damage to minimize the recurrence of similar issues in the future. The results of the study show that out of the 2 computerized embroidery machines, one machine has an OEE value below 85%, which is the computerized embroidery machine 1 (84.64%). From this value, the six big losses calculations reveal that the largest loss is idling and minor stoppages losses, amounting to 20.02%. After conducting a fishbone diagram analysis, the factors causing idling and minor stoppages losses were identified as Human, Machine, Method, and Raw Material. Suggestions to prevent idling and minor stoppages losses include frequently cleaning the production area after production, regularly lubricating the machine to prevent wear, always checking the machine's condition before use, and others.
