Abstract

[The Existence of Pottery Craftsmen in Kedaton Village Kayu Agung District 1980-2020] This study highlights the problem of how the existence of pottery craftsmen in Kedaton Village, Kayu Agung District in 1980-2020. The method used in this study is a historical sociological approach which aims to provide an explanation of the existence of pottery in Kedaton Village, Kayu Agung District. This discourse will be used as a warning to the community to protect and preserve the existing culture. Data collection techniques in research were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation in the field. Sources of data in the study were obtained from sources who work as pottery craftsmen in Kedaton Village who have been working on pottery craft from generation to generation. This research shows that craftsmen of pottery crafts in  Kedaton Village, Kayu Agung District still exist. However, there has been a decline in terms of the pottery craftsmen themselves. This is due to several factors, that is: The high cost of pottery raw materialsthe time in pottery making, the age factor, and the change in the livelihood sector which creates difficulties for the craftsmen who are still engaged in making pottery in Kedaton Villager. This article presents changes in the existence of a culture due to the absence of efforts to preserve that culture

Abstract

Kalamansi orange (Citrus microcarpa Bunge.) has the potential as a source of antimicrobials because the skin of the fruit contains flavonoid compounds, tannins, and alkaloids which have been shown to be able to inhibit the growth of gram-negative bacteria. This study aimed to obtain information on the effect of ethanolic extract of kalamansi orange peel (C. microcarpa Bunge.) on the growth of Salmonella typhi bacteria land the minimum inhibitory concentration of ethanolic extract of kalamansi orange peel (C. microcarpa Bunge.) on the growth of S. ltyphi bacteria. Experimental research with a completely randomized design, the results were analyzed using the One Way ANOVA test. Calamansi orange peel ethanol extract with concentrations of 0%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%, 12.5%, and 15% was tested for antibacterial activity against the growth of S. typhi bacteria using the disc diffusion method. The parameters observed were the diameter of the inhibition zone formed around the lpaper disc. The results of this study showed that ethanol extract of kalamansi orange peel (C. microcarpa Bunge.) had a significant effect on the growth of S. typhi bacteria, with a 95% confidence level and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of ethanolic extract of kalamansi orange peel (C. microcarpa Bunge.) on bacterial growth. S. typhi was at a concentration of 10%, to be precise, MIC was at a concentration of 5% with an average inhibition zone diameter of 5.27 mm. Abstract

A type of coffee plant that is widely cultivated in the city of Pagar Alam, South Sumatra is Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora). The robusta coffee plant is one of the traditional plants that can be used as a medicine. The purpose of this research is to analyze the potential of Robusta peaberry Sangrai coffee bean extract and green bean from Pagar Alam city against the growth of Candida albicans fungus. The test method is carried out by extraction, phytochemical screening test and anti-fungal activity test of Robusta coffee bean extract. The results of testing antifungal activity showed that ethanol extracts of roasted peaberry robusta coffee beans and green bean can inhibit the growth of C. albicans fungi by forming clear zones. Secondary metabolite compounds contained in roasted peaberry robusta coffee bean extract and green bean are alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and terpenoids. The minimum inhibitory content (MIC) of ethanol extract of roasted peaberry robusta coffee beans and green bean against the growth of C. albicans fungus in vitro is at a concentration of 10%. Based on the results of research on ethanol extract, roasted peaberry robusta coffee beans and green bean have the potential to be anti-fungal because they can inhibit the growth of C. albicans fungus.

Abstract

The results of an interview with a science teacher in Ogan Ilir district that science teachers mastered the skills of various learning models including direct learning models. Some of the junior high school science materials are declarative or procedural. Material that is declarative or procedural requires skills that are carried out in stages of the entire series of activities displayed. The purpose of this community service activity (CSA) is to improve the ability of junior high school science teachers to master the direct teaching model, compile a direct teaching model rpp and be able to implement the direct teaching model in the classroom. The implementation of the activity is carried out in several stages, namely: 1. The preparatory stage, namely field observations and interviews with teachers, reading references to direct learning model materials, holding discussions with PPM team members, preparing training materials in the form of Power Point, approaching school staff and teachers and coordinating related parties. 2. Implementation stage, namely direct training with training methods, demonstrations and discussions and visualizations. Through CSA activities, science teachers from the Ogan Ilir MGMP groups can compile or modify direct learning models with a scientific approach. MGMP science teachers have been able to make 5 aspects of learning implementation planning (LIP), namely listing: learning indicators and objectives, organizing materials, media and learning resources, learning activity steps, and evaluating learning outcomes. Therefore, the RPP format made by mgmp science teachers in Ogan Ilir district was declared feasible. This is evident from the assessment results with all 100 values. After attending the CSA training material, participants enjoyed the material presented, felt that this material was very necessary and felt that their knowledge increased

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji toksisitas dan potensi repelen dari ekstrak kasar lengkuas (Languas galangal L.), beluntas (Pluchea indica L.), dan sirsak (Annona muricata L.) sebagai insektisida botani kumbang kacang hijau (Callosobruchus chinensis L.) (Coleoptera : Bruchidae). Nilai LC 50 ekstrak lengkuas selama 24, 48 dan 72 jam terhadap kumbang kacang hijau berturut-turut, yaitu 1,60,1,35, dan 0,48 %. Nilai LC 50 ekstrak beluntas selama 24, 48 dan 72 jam, yaitu 1,46, 1,67, and 0,73 %. Nilai LC 50 ekstrak sirsak selama 24 dan 48 jam, yaitu 0,98 dan 0,42%. Fumigasi ekstrak lengkuas, beluntas dan sirsak selama 24, 48, 72 dan 96 jam berpengaruh secara nyata terhadap mortalitas kumbang kacang hijau dibandingkan control (0%). Jadi ekstrak lengkuas dan sirsak berpengaruh terhadap kumbang kacang hijau dapat meningkatkan nilai indeks repelen. Namun pengaruh ekstrak beluntas terdapat kumbang kacang jihau menunjukan nilai indeks repelen menurun, artinya ekstrak beluntas memiliki sifat sebagai atraktan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh tanaman mempunyai potensi sebagai insektisida botani.Kata kunci : Insektisida botani, indeks repelen dan Callosobruchus chinensis L.

Abstract

This research was aimed at exploring and identifying the entomopathogen fungi Aphis gossypii (Glover) (Hemoptera: Aphidiidae) in the agroecosystem of the lowland and highland of South Sumatra. The surveys of the entomopathogen A. gossypii were conducted in 11 locations of the vegetable centers of South Sumatra.  The Identification of entomopathogen was conducted in the Laboratory of the Entomology, Department of Pests and Plant Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University.  This research was conducted during the period of July 2009 and July 2010. The results of the study also revealed that two species of entomopathogenic fungi: M. anisopliae and B. bassiana were found. In the medium culture, B. bassiana colony was white and formed a bundle like cotton.  When it reached the age of over 10 days old, it looked like yellowish white chalk.  The spores of  B. bassiana were oval, with an average length of 3 μm, white in color and grow  in zigzag form from conidiospores.  In the medium culture , M. anisopliae colony was greenish yellow in color and forms spots.  The spores of  M. anisopliae were green in color, cylindrical in form with an average length of 10 μm and form a chain. Key words: Aphis gossypii (Glover), Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) and Metarrhizium anisopliae (Metsch)

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran dan mengajar (PBM) pada umumnya luput dari perhatian wali murid dan pihak-pihak lain yang terkait. Wali murid terkadang menuntut pendidikan untuk anak-anaknya adalah pendidikan yang berkualitas. PBM yang dilakukan oleh guru tidak ada yang tahu atau hanya guru itu sendiri. Siswa terkadang tahu tetapi untuk menyatakan kekurangan dari setiap guru tidak dapat menyampaikan pesan. Tentu saja kami sebagai pihak yang mengajar di Pendidikan biologi FKIP Unsri terpanggil secara moral ikut ambil bagian merubah kondisi ini. Salah satunya melalui Lesson Study (LS) berbasis MGMP guru IPA di kabupaten Ogan Ilir.Tujuan dan manfaat dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat (PM) ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru IPA SMP menguasai materi IPA, mengajar, membuat perangkat pembelajaran dan  dapat percaya diri serta terampil membimbing praktek IPA di laboratorium sekolah. Pelaksanaan kegiatan PM diperlukan beberapa tahap sebagai berikut: Tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Dari kegiatan PPM tentang pelatihan LS Berbasis MGMP IPA SMP Kabupaten Ogan Ilir dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan LS sangat berpotensi meningkatkan profesionalisme guru IPA SMP Ogan Ilir, sebab dapat meningkatkan kemampuan guru IPA SMP menguasai materi IPA, meningkatkan keterampilan PBM guru IPA dan meningkatkan kemampuan membuat perangkat pembelajaran di sekolah. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat diharapkan MGMP guru IPA dapat menemukan metode atau model meningkatkan profesionalisme guru IPA SMP kabupaten Ogan Ilir.

Abstract

Water literacy, or the culmination of water-related knowledge, attitudes and behaviours, is a relatively new field of study with growing importance for sustainable water management and social water equity (McCarroll & Hamman, 2020). This study aims to analyse students' water literacy from two area in South Sumatera Indonesia, one area is from Semende which is subdistrict of Muara Enim with Indigenous Culture of water conservation and other students came from Palembang Districts which is at the same province with Semende districs, with a similar abundance of water but without Indigenous Culture. This study's samples were 439 respondents, consisting of 184 boys and 255 girls aged 11-18 years from junior and senior high school students in Palembang Municipality and Semende sub-districts of Muara Enim. There were 39 questions for measuring water literacy in the form of a Likert scale (1-5) to assess knowledge, attitude and behaviours in practical and living literacy. Social literacy was measured in the open-ended question instrument. Three of this water literacy was analysed descriptively. The results showed that practical water literacy in Semende and Palembang was significantly different but not with living water literacy. Besides, students' social water literacy in the Semende had two different answer patterns, while, in Palembang, it was more diverse with six different response patterns.

Abstract

The study of bay leaf extract had been done to know its potential as Culex quinquefasciatus repellent. Bay leaf extract has the secondary metabolite compounds, such as terpenoid that is known as repellent of mosquitoes. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of bay leaf extract on Culex quinquefasciatus. The method used in this study was an experiment with complete randomized design which was consisted of six treatments and four repetitions. The treatment consisted of control (0%), P1 (10%), P2 (20%), P3 (30%), P4 (40%), and P5 (50%) of bay leaf extract. Data were analyzed by using one-way ANOVA. The results of this study showed the lowest mean of C. quinquefasciatus which repelled was 83% and the highest was 95,5%. Analysis of variance indicated that amount of C. quinquefasciatus which avoided bay leaf extract was significantly different. Based on the result, it can be concluded that bay leaf extract is potential as C. quinquefasciatus repellent.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah model Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas X.1 SMA Negeri 2 Palembang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua siklus. Pada siklus I ketuntasan klasikalnya sebesar 84%, dan pada siklus II ketuntasan klasikalnya mencapai angka 95%. Peningkatan yang terjadi antara siklus I dan siklus II ialah sebesar 83,81%, walaupun angka peningkatan tidak mencapai 100% tetapi upaya yang dilakukan telah berhasil dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Maka disimpulkan bahwa, model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning pada materi Perubahan dan Pelestarian Lingkungan kelas X.1 di SMA Negeri 2 Palembang, berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.
