Abstract

Gold jewelry stores have to deal with various problems involving inventory control and inventory analytics in their day-to-day operations. Many Indonesian gold retailers tackle these problems by using a paperbased recording method. This method is not time efficient and adds more workload into the inventory management processes, such as stocktaking and popular item category classification. Stocktaking gets more difficult as more items are added to the inventory. These added workload and time increase the risk for items to go missing without being immediately documented. This paper proposes an Internet of Things solution that makes inventory stocktake more streamlined by introducing an RFID system with a web application that allows an operator to identify items during a stocktake instantly. In addition, store managers can also find trends in item categories using the Boyer-Moore majority vote algorithm. Our evaluation show that this system can effectively record data items in one scan with an average accuracy of 93.16% for a tray of 5 up to 25 items.

Abstract

Sentrum Agraris Lotta (SAL) yang terletak di Desa Lotta Jaga II, Kecamatan Pineleng, Kabupaten Minahasa, Sulawesi Utara merupakan organisasi dengan sasaran strategis sebagai percontohan pertanian organik terpadu dengan tugas utamanya sebagai wadah edukasi bagi seluruh mitra kelompok tani dengan wilayah binaan Sulawesi Utara hingga Sulawesi Tengah, selain itu SAL merupakan organisasi yang turut membantu penanganan dan mitigasi bencana. Permasalahan utama SAL yaitu permasalahan pasca panen dan permasalahan pengembangan produk pertanian menjadi produk pasca panen bernilai jual tinggi serta permasalahan diversifikasi dan peningkatan added value berbagai komoditas SAL terutama komoditas jagung yang selama ini hanya dijual dalam bentuk pipilan biji jagung sebagai bahan baku pakan ternak tanpa adanya pengolahan  lanjut yang dapat meningkatkan added value dan diversifikasi produk.  Kegiatan diseminasi dan alih teknologi pengolahan pati jagung dilakukan bersama dengan mitra sasaran SAL dengan metode sosialisasi, diseminasi dan alih teknologi pengolahan pati menggunakan teknologi tepat guna mesin penggiling dan mesin press hidrolik yang melibatkan peran aktif dari peserta dan kelompok mitra dimana produk dari kegiatan ini berupa pati jagung serta dengan adanya kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan mitra dalam pengolahan pati jagung dalam upaya diversifikasi dan peningkatan nilai tambah komoditas jagung.

Abstract

Teknologi Informasi dan Komputer terus berkembang sampai saat ini sehingga dijadikan salah satu mata pelajaran di sekolah. SMP Katolik St. Antonius di Manado merupakan salah satu sekolah yang menerapkan Teknologi Informasi dan Komputer dalam kurikulumnya, akan tetapi di sekolah tersebut terdapat pengajar yang tidak memiliki latar belakang Teknologi Informasi dan Komputer, sehingga dibutuhkan tenaga pengajar yang sesuai. Atas dasar kebutuhan tenaga pengajar dari sekolah tersebut dan dharma pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang wajib dipenuhi oleh dosen setiap semester, tim dosen dari Program Studi Teknik Informatika melakukan kegiatan pelatihan Teknologi Informasi dan Komputer di SMP Katolik St. Antonius dari bulan Oktober 2023 sampai bulan Desember 2023. Manfaat dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pemahaman dalam bentuk teori dan skill (praktik) kepada siswa yang ada di SMP Katolik St. Antonius untuk mempelajari materi dan bahan ajar tentang mata pelajaran Teknologi Informasi dan Komputer.

Abstract

Weather is one of the important parts that occur in human life. The fields of human occupation that are most affected by the weather, for example, are agriculture, tourism, transportation, and also other fields that require outdoor activities. Before working, humans will see the weather forecast through various media such as weather applications. When entering the rainy season, the weather in Indonesia cannot be predicted accurately even though it has been forecasted, because the weather in Indonesia during the rainy season can change. Currently, Indonesia has used the AWS system but it is still in limited numbers which is also because the AWS used is still made by another country, so it has a fairly expensive price. Therefore, this study will design and implement an Internet of Things-based Weather Monitoring System using the Naïve Bayes algorithm that can help classify the weather status where the device is located. The device is built using DHT11 sensors, LDR, and rain gauge sensors as input parameters for weather data. Based on the tests that have been carried out, the system that has been built can run well. All the features created can function properly and can display weather results according to the Naïve Bayes algorithm calculations. The tool that was built can receive data and send data into the database. The application that was built can implement the Naïve Bayes algorithm and has an average accuracy of 92.49%.

Abstract

The 2024 Indonesian Presidential Election marked the fifth general election in the country, aimed at electing a new President and Vice President for the 2024–2029 term. Candidates competed to succeed the outgoing president, who had served two constitutional terms. A key aspect of this election was the candidate debates, where each candidate presented their vision, allowing the public to assess their policies. These debates were broadcast on platforms like YouTube, giving the public a space to comment. However, analyzing YouTube comments presents challenges due to the volume of data, language diversity, and informal expressions. Sentiment analysis, crucial for understanding public opinion, uses algorithms such as Naïve Bayes, which is based on Bayes' Theorem and assumes feature independence. Naïve Bayes is widely used in text analysis for its speed and simplicity. When applied to YouTube comments from the 2024 debates, the algorithm demonstrated its effectiveness, especially with a balanced dataset through random oversampling. It achieved 85.155% accuracy, high precision, recall, and an AUC of 96.8% on an 80:20 data split. Its fast classification time (0.000998 seconds) makes it suitable for real-time sentiment analysis, validating its use for political events. Future applications may incorporate advanced techniques like BERT for more sophisticated analysis.

Abstract

Urban farming, an agricultural concept utilizing limited space. This application is fititng for urban and suburban scapes with limited agricultural fields like Lotta village, located in the suburbans of Manado city. Sentrum Agraris Lotta (SAL), a non profit organization that functions as the societies eduction hub in organic agricultur, SAL has facilitated this aquaponic implementation as an empowerment and mentoring activity for the PKK and Local Government of Lotta Village, Pineleng District of Minahasa Regency. Integrating vegetable farming with fish farming, this activity serves as a vesel for the KKN MBKM students progam. This activity elevated social empowerments by practical skills impartment to the district and partnering organizations, while disseminating the society on food security and household economy. Also a media for students in implementing science and social engagement in an off-campus practical activity as one of the parameter of the main higher education performance indicators (IKU-PT).

Abstract

Set Jek North Sulawesi is an office that collaborates with the South Minahasa Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Service. Collecting employee attendance data at the Set Jek North Sulawesi Office still uses manual recording, where employees have to report to the staff on duty to collect incoming and outgoing attendance data. Recap of attendance reports is also carried out using manual recording and calculating the total number of employees who come in, go home, have permission, are sick, leave or are absent. Taking attendance and recapping attendance reports manually has shortcomings that can result in loss or damage to existing data. Another drawback is the lack of efficiency in processing employee attendance data. To overcome the problems that exist in the attendance taking section at the Set Jek North Sulawesi Office, we built a Web-Based Employee Attendance Application Using a Barcode Scanner. By using this application, the possibility of fraud can be avoided, because each employee must take their own attendance with a barcode scanner. This attendance application can also create employee attendance report recaps, so that manual calculations and recaps are no longer needed. The application will be designed using Data Flow Diagram and Entity Relationship Diagram. Then the application will be implemented using the PHP, HTML and JavaScript programming languages, and using MySQL as the database. The expected result is that this application can be an efficient solution for taking employee attendance at the Set Jek North Sulawesi Office.

Abstract

The need for urban communities to consume vegetables is increasing. This has caused people to start cultivating vegetables using hydroponic techniques. However, due to their busy activities, they do not have enough time to monitor and control hydroponics, which must always be in ideal conditions. This paper designs and implements an Internet of Things-based monitoring system to help hydroponic owners monitor their hydroponics anywhere and anytime. The built system requires a monitoring device assembled using a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, a pH detection detector sensor, and a DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor. This system uses the Mamdani Fuzzy Logic algorithm to determine warnings to be displayed on the application interface when the water pH, temperature, and humidity are in certain conditions. The Mamdani Fuzzy Logic algorithm can interpret environmental data into a warning that humans can easily understand, even if they lack technical expertise. In addition to being able to help monitor, this system also allows owners to find out what elements need to be added or changed for their hydroponic place. Our evaluation results show that the defuzzification stage in the application has high accuracy, which is 99.92%, compared to Matlab’s results.

Abstract

The X social media platform (formerly known as Twitter) has become one of the main media for discussing various issues and public opinions, including Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia on September 3-6, 2024. This study aims to analyze public opinion sentiment based on tweet data by applying the Naïve Bayes algorithm. Data collection was carried out through crawling techniques using the Twitter API, which was run on Google Colab. The Naïve Bayes algorithm is used to classify data into three types of sentiment: positive, negative, and neutral. Testing was conducted using training and testing data, and then evaluated through a confusion matrix to measure accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. The analysis results show that public opinion regarding the visit is positive, with an evaluation yielding average accuracy metric results, namely the 90:10 ratio reaching 74.37%, followed by the 80:20 ratio with 73.26%, the 70:30 ratio with 70.91%, and the 60:40 ratio with 66.44%. The best precision, recall, and F1-score metrics were obtained from the 90:10 ratio, which were 59.72%, 59.29%, and 59.48%, respectively. This research provides an overview of public perception regarding Pope Francis' visit and demonstrates the results of applying the Naïve Bayes algorithm. Thus, this application is expected to contribute to the advancement of sentiment analysis methods in public opinion analysis on various social issues.
