Abstract

The issue of the community’s awareness of community participation is a very important element in the worship of the basic community's word. This study aims to determine, analyze and interpret the community’s awareness of the participation of the people in basic community worship. The specific target achieved was to find out the role of community awareness and participation of the people in worship of the word. The method used is the qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that communion awareness influences people's participation in the worship of the word, which is equal to 7.4 %. The awareness of communion and participation of the people becomes an important basis when people listen to the Word of God in the worship of the words of the basic community. True worship of the word requires a strong spirit of communion and active and conscious participation of the people.AbstrakMasalah kesadaran komunio terhadap tingkat partisipasi umat merupakan unsur sangat penting dalam ibadat sabda komunitas basis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, menganalisis dan menginterpretasikan tentang pentingya kesadaran komunio  terhadap partisipasi umat dalam ibadat sabda komunitas basis. Target khusus yang dicapai yakni menemukan sejauh mana kesadaran komunio umat terhadap partisipasi umat dalam ibadat sabda. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode kuantitatif. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ibadat sabda merupakan perayaan iman, di mana Allah bersabda kepada umatNya, dan umat mendengarkan Sabda Allah serta melaksanakannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Karena itulah, maka kesadaran komunio dan partisipasi umat menjadi dasar penting saat umat mendengarkan Sabda Allah dalam ibadat sabda komunitas basis. Ibadat sabda yang sejati membutuhkan semangat persekutuan (komunio) yang kokoh dan partisipasi umat secara aktif dan sadar

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate and analyze the understanding of the  curriculum 2013 and integration on the performance of Catholic elementary school teachers in Manado City. The total of samples are 76 respondents in 11 Catholic Primary Schools. This research is in June to July 2019. The method of the research is quantitative approach by survey methods. The results showed that (1) There is a positive influence of the understanding of the  curriculum 2013 on the performance of Catholic elementary school teachers in Manado City. The effect of understanding of the  curriculum 2013 on teacher performance was relatively low that is 39.1% with a significance level of 0.000 ≤ from α = 0.05. While the results of the hypothesis test knowledge variable with the t test shows the fact that t-count = 6.889 ≥ (t-tab) = 1.992. (2) There is effect of  teacher’s integration on the performance of Catholic elementary school teachers with the results of the determination of percentage, 8.2% and a significance level of 0.012 ≤ from α = 0.05; (3) There is a effect of curriculum 2013 and integration simultaneously on the performance of Catholic elementary school teachers, 37.5% with a significance level of 0,000 ≤ from α = 0.05.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explain influence smartphone on learning motivation of students in elementary school, Mapanget Subdistrict, Manado City. This research is in four elementary schools:  SD Inpres 03 Paniki Bawah, SD Katolik Santo Yohanes Mapanget Barat,  SD Katolik 02 Santo Don Bosco Paniki Bawah; and SD Katolik 10  Santo Fransiskus Buha. Samples those used are 84 students. This research is  a quantitative approach. It used the survey’s method. It have stages: observation of the location of the research, preparation of questionnaires, distribution of questionnaires, validity testing, data collection, processing of research results, analysis of the results of research, and discussion. The result showed that the effect of smartphone on the learning motivation of students in elementary school Mapanget Subdistrict was 0.057 or 5.7% with a significance  0.028 < 0,05. The results of testing t-table is greater than t count, namely t-hitung = 2.232 ≥ (t-tab) = 1.989. This means that smartphone have an effect on students’ learning motivation even though it is in the low category 5.7%. Suggestion as recommendation: students do not use excessive smartphones both at school and at home. Parents and teachers always supervise children especially using of smartphone everday  because the effect  of smartphone on students’ learning motivation is very low.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve elementary school students' reading comprehension skills through the application of the SQ3R learning method. This research uses classroom action research (CAR). The research location is SD GMIM 12 Manado. The application of the SQ3R learning method according to the results of the research analysis showed that the reading comprehension skills of fourth grade students at SD GMIM 12 Manado experienced a significant increase. These results are based on an analysis review starting from the pre-cycle with a completeness of 12.5%. Although the percentage of cycle I achievement at meeting 1 was the same as pre-cycle achievement (12.5%), at meeting 2 it experienced an increase (37.5%) but the increase was not yet significant in achieving the minimum completeness requirements. However, different results for cycle II meeting 1 actually showed 75% completeness with an average score of 76.5 and increased after meeting 2 with an average score of 84.8 or 100% of students who achieved the minimum requirements for learning success required.

Abstract

This research aims to analyse Paulo Freire's philosophy of education, especially the philosophy of problem-oriented education, and its relevance to the project of strengthening the student profile of Pancasila. This research seeks to find the meaning contained in Freire's philosophy of education through an in-depth interpretation of the implementation of an independent curriculum in Indonesia. The method used is library research with a hermeneutic approach. The results show that Freire's problem-based educational philosophy emerged as a response to bank-style education in Brazil. According to him, bank-style education is narrative, passive, oppresses society and has an impact on the culture of silence. Problem-based education focuses on teaching students to see the problems around them and to analyse them in order to find solutions. Freire's philosophy of problem-based education provides relevance for the implementation components of the Pancasila Learner Profile Strengthening Project, namely: the project must be problem-based, learner-centred, contextual, dialogical and exploratory.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the step of using image media to improve science learning result in thirteen Chatolict elementary school of Saint Paul, Manado City. This research uses class actions research methods are carried out in the two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four steps namely: planning, action, observation and reflection. The data sources of this research is the fifth grade students of thirteen Chatolict elementary school of Saint Paul, Manado City in academic year 2018/2019 to 25 students. The techniques of data collecting were test, interview, observation and documentation. The data analysis is used by this research is kuantitatif and kualitatif data analysis. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the using of image media can improve grade V students’ Science learning achievement by in thirteen Chatolict elementary school of Saint Paul, Manado City. The results showed that: (1) teacher skill in the first cycle 87,5% with good criteria and in second cycle obtained 90,65% with very good criteria; (2) student activity in the first cycle 73,75% with the criteria was active enough and in second cycle obtained 78,13% with active criteria; (3) student learning result in the first cycle 52% and the second cycle 84%. Suggestions in this researh was that: (1) using of image media could become as a teacher’s solution to improve the quality of natural science learning. (2)the teacher of learning science subject have to study the using learning methods, models and media to give learning spirit for the students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi pendekatan multiple intelligence pada siswa sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan alamiah. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui triangulasi, yakni menggabungkan berbagai teknik pengumpulan data secara simultan. Analisis data bersifat induktif, berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang ditemukan di lapangan. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa sebelum proses pembelajaran dimulai, guru telah mengidentifikasi berbagai kecerdasan yang dimiliki siswa dengan menggunakan kuesioner untuk menilai minat dan aktivitas mereka, serta melalui pertanyaan terbuka. Wawancara dengan guru kelas mengungkapkan bahwa guru menerapkan pendekatan multiple intelligence secara terstruktur, tidak hanya dengan memberikan pemahaman tentang konsep kecerdasan yang beragam, tetapi juga dengan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung pengembangan potensi siswa. Namun, guru menghadapi kesulitan dalam menentukan metode pembelajaran harian yang dapat menarik minat siswa dan sesuai dengan kecerdasan mereka. Selain itu, terdapat tantangan dalam mengontrol pembelajaran di rumah, karena beberapa siswa terlambat atau lupa menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan. Kesimpulannya, identifikasi awal kecerdasan siswa membantu guru dalam menentukan metode pembelajaran yang lebih tepat dan sesuai dengan potensi individual siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the relationship between utilitarian ethics and the use of social media by primary school children. This paper critically examines the potential positive and negative effects of social media use for primary school children from the perspective of utilitarian ethics. The hermeneutic method is a philosophical method that examines, explores and seeks meaning for a particular concept. The researcher tries to reflect and interpret the study of utilitarian ethics while providing a sharp analysis of the issue in the context of social media use for primary school children. The results of the analysis show that utilitarian ethics can influence the behaviour and use of social media for primary school students. The implementation of utilitarian ethics has both positive and negative effects on children's social media behaviour. The value of utilitarian ethics can develop children's digital moral behaviour such as altruistic attitudes, positive cooperation, productive and responsible actions, social awareness, being critical of social issues, and engaging in online learning communities using social media. The results of this analysis are expected to provide philosophical contributions for students to use social media more responsibly, wisely and in accordance with universal moral values.
