Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of using STEM-Linktree media with story problems on the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students of SMP Maryam Surabaya. The type of research used is pre-experimental with a quantitative approach. The research design uses One Group pretest-posttest. The population in the study were all seventh-grade students of SMP Maryam Surabaya. The sample was selected using random sampling because of the homogeneous academic background. Data collection techniques in the study used pretest, posttest, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used were N-gain, One Sample T Test, and Paired Sample T Test. The study results showed that the One Sample T Test obtained t_table=1,729 < t_count=14,295; then H1 is accepted H0 is rejected. Similar results were obtained from the Paired Sample T Test obtained t_table=1,729 < t_count=14,163; then H0 is rejected. The analysis results indicated that the use of STEM-Linktree media with story problems had a significant effect on student learning outcomes. Students' responses to learning using STEM-Linktree media with story problems were highly positive, falling within the "very good" category, with an average score of 83,5%.

Abstract

This study aims to predict the population of Surabaya City in 2035 using the logistic model and to classify the livability level of each district based on population density. Secondary data were obtained from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) for the years 2010–2023. The population projection was conducted using logistic differential equations, while classification was carried out through agglomerative hierarchical clustering analysis using SPSS. The results indicate that districts with high population density, such as Sawahan, Bubutan, and Simokerto, fall into the low livability category. In contrast, districts like Rungkut, Sambikerep, and Gunung Anyar are categorized as highly livable due to their lower density. These findings suggest an inverse relationship between demographic pressure and livability. The classification output, visualized through maps, provides spatial insight to support urban spatial planning and policy-making. The study recommends equitable infrastructure development, population growth control, and service improvement in less livable areas to enhance the overall quality of life in Surabaya.

Abstract

The process of learning mathematics is in fact still not fully able to develop students' critical thinking skills. The importance of critical thinking for students lies in good problem solving methods. This study aims to describe students' critical thinking skills after implementing the STEM-GeoGebra integrated PjBL model and to find out students' responses. Students' critical thinking skills in learning mathematics are still low, as evidenced by the learning outcomes of students who have not yet reached the KKTP. A quantitative approach with the Pre-Experimental Designs One Group Pre-test Post-test design was used in this study. The target of this study-09 was class VII-C students of SMP Negeri 2 Surabaya for the 2022/2023 academic year with a total of 33 students. The method for implementing the STEM-GeoGebra integration PjBL model is carried out in 6 stages: 1) Problem recognition, 2) Project planning, 3) Developing project plans, 4) Evaluation of project progress, 5) Evaluation of project results, and 6) Evaluation of experiences. The instruments used were test questions and student response questionnaires that had been declared eligible for field tests by the validator. The study results show that students' critical thinking skills have increased, this is indicated by the large N-gain value of 0.42 in the medium category and the students' responses are in the good category with an average of 75. Furthermore, the results of this study indicate that there is an increase in critical thinking skills through the application of the STEM-GeoGebra integration PjBL model..

Abstract

Prayer (shalat) is the central act of worship in Islam and holds a fundamental role in nurturing the spiritual life of Muslims. However, in practice, challenges often arise within society, particularly regarding the accuracy of recitations, movements, and the cohesiveness of congregational prayer. Thus, the urgency of understanding correct fiqh shalat remains crucial to ensure the quality of worship and strengthen ukhuwah islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood). In response to this need, students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, through the National Community Service Program (KKN) in Surabaya, organized a community engagement activity under the theme of Kemuhammadiyahan, namely a congregational prayer competition involving members of ‘Aisyiyah. The aim of this activity was to internalize Muhammadiyah values, enhance the understanding of fiqh shalat according to Islamic teachings, and foster a spirit of togetherness through an educational and participatory approach. The competition was assessed based on prayer movements, recitations, and group cohesiveness. The results revealed active participation and high enthusiasm from the participants, who not only competed but also learned to improve the quality of their worship. This activity successfully created a positive religious atmosphere, strengthened bonds among community members, and affirmed the role of KKN as a medium of community service that integrates religious education, Islamic propagation (dakwah), and spiritual development rooted in progressive Islamic values.

Abstract

This Community Service is focused on mentoring and training to improve children's learning abilities and interest in mathematics, especially children at the Yauma Orphanage, Surabaya. The determination of this assistance was motivated by the low interest and ability of foster children in science material, namely mathematics. Apart from that, the lack of learning facilities and inadequate educators make students less enthusiastic about developing their abilities because academic appreciation is rarely given. The objectives to be achieved from this community service PKM activity include: 1) efforts to help improve the learning abilities and interest of children at the Yauma Orphanage in understanding mathematics material, 2) providing education on how to understand fractions and shapes in everyday life , 3) fostering collaboration with partners, namely the Yauma Orphanage to introduce Interactive Fun-Math Workbook learning media. The method used to achieve the goals of this community service PKM is through training and mentoring for foster students at the Yauma Orphanage. Several components that were successfully achieved in implementing this activity included: 1) achieving the activity objectives, 2) achieving the material targets that had been planned for the Yauma Orphanage students.

Abstract

This study has the purpose of raising skill writing class students IVB SDN Kandangan 1 Surabaya through the application of learning model talking stick in coupled with origami media questions. The research is PTK (Class Action Research) conducted in two cycle with a quantitative approach.The subject of this research is 28 students IVB class. Data collection is done through observation early diagnostic tests, writing skills tests, and judgment in attitude on liveliness students. Research shows that there has been a significant increase in students writing skills after enactment of the kind of classroom talking stick by the origami. In the cycle I, the percentage exclusion of learning reached 35%, while in cycle II is 87,5 % increased to. The enhancement of the study results, participation and motivation of students also show positive developments. For that reason, the kind of classroom talking stick by the origami proven effective in improved the skills writing students indonesian language in class 1 IVB SDN Kandangan 1/121 Surabaya.

Abstract

Fenomena gerhana bulan merupakan peristiwa alam yang langka dan memegang makna religius serta sosial yang mendalam dalam kehidupan umat Islam. Namun, pemahaman jamaah terhadap makna gerhana seringkali terbatas pada aspek ritual formal tanpa keterkaitan dengan nilai sosial yang lebih luas. Pengabdian masyarakat ini difokuskan untuk memperkuat kesadaran jamaah Masjid Salman Al Farisi Surabaya terhadap makna religius dan sosial gerhana bulan melalui pendekatan partisipatif dan dokumentasi pelaksanaan salat gerhana. Pendekatan ini meliputi observasi partisipatif, dokumentasi kegiatan, dan wawancara singkat dengan pengurus serta jamaah pada pelaksanaan salat gerhana tanggal 8 September 2025. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dari jamaah, transformasi pemahaman dari tradisi mitos ke praktik sunnah, serta penguatan ukhuwah dan solidaritas sosial antarjamaah. Selain itu, keterlibatan mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata memperkuat aspek edukasi dan dokumentasi kegiatan. Pengabdian ini menyimpulkan bahwa fenomena gerhana bulan dapat menjadi momentum strategis untuk menguatkan iman dan solidaritas komunitas masjid, sekaligus meningkatkan kualitas ibadah dan kebersamaan sosial di lingkungan masjid.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan model pembelajaran Problem solving berbasis STEM dengan media Digital Snake and Ladder dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik kelas VIIA SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus, dengan tujuan untuk memperbaiki hasil belajar peserta didik melalui penerapan model ini. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi observasi, dokumentasi, tes, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model ini berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika, dengan nilai rata-rata meningkat dari 62,42 pada pra-siklus menjadi 63,14 pada siklus I, dan 80,14 pada siklus II. Selain itu, kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik juga mengalami peningkatan signifikan pada setiap langkah pemecahan masalah. Aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran juga meningkat, dengan kolaborasi dalam berdiskusi menjadi indikator dengan nilai tertinggi pada kedua siklus. Respon peserta didik terhadap model pembelajaran ini sangat positif, dengan skor tertinggi pada indikator motivasi belajar matematika. Penelitian ini menyarankan penerapan model serupa di mata pelajaran lain untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Kata kunci: Problem solving, STEM, Digital Snake and Ladder, hasil belajar, keterlibatan siswa.   Abstract: This study aims to examine the application of the Problem solving model based on STEM with the Digital Snake and Ladder media in improving the mathematics learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya. The research uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach consisting of two cycles, aiming to improve students' learning outcomes through the implementation of this model. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation, tests, and questionnaires. The results show that the application of this model successfully improved mathematics learning outcomes, with the average score increasing from 62.42 in the pre-cycle to 63.14 in cycle I, and 80.14 in cycle II. Additionally, students' problem-solving skills showed significant improvement in each step of the problem-solving process. Students' activity during the learning process also improved, with collaboration in discussions being the highest indicator in both cycles. Students’ responses to the model were highly positive, with the highest score for motivation in learning mathematics. This study recommends applying similar models in other subjects to enhance students' understanding and engagement in learning. Keywords: Problem solving, STEM, Digital Snake and Ladder, learning outcomes, student engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of digital-based DIAGRAM SMART MATH on students' interest and learning outcomes in the material of data and diagrams. The type of research used is pre-experimental with a quantitative approach. The research design employs a one-group pretest-posttest. The population in this study consists of all seventh-grade students at SMP Mujahidin Surabaya. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, with a total sample of 25 students, comprising 9 males and 16 females. Data collection techniques in this study used pretests, posttests, and questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used were the One Sample T Test and N-gain. The results of the study indicate that the influence of digital-based DIAGRAM SMART MATH on the material of data and diagrams has a significant effect on students' interest and learning outcomes. This is evident from the analysis of the questionnaire used to measure students' interest, which yielded an average of 86%, falling into the very high criteria. Furthermore, the N-gain analysis results obtained a value of 0.7409, which is categorized as high. Additionally, based on the One Sample T Test analysis, the significance value obtained was 0.000 < P-value 0.05; thus, is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an influence of digital-based DIAGRAM SMART MATH on students' interest and learning outcomes in the material of data and diagrams.
