Abstract

Diarrhea is still a public health problem in developing countries such as Indonesia, because of its high morbidity and mortality. Most diarrhea occurs in children under the age of 2 years. Toddlers aged 12-24 months have a risk of diarrhea 2.23 times compared to children aged 25-59 months. The purpose of this research was to see the influence of knowledge, attitudes, behavioral factors, environmental factors with the incidence of diarrhea in the hamlet VII Patumbak 1. The research method used descriptive observational with a cross sectional approach. The sample was carried out by purposive sampling. The instrument in this research was using a questionnaire. Analysis of this data using Chi Square statistical test. The results showed that there was an influence between knowledge and the incidence of diarrhea (P value 0.005). There was an influence between attitude and the incidence of diarrhea with a P value 0.002 (<0.05). There was an influence between behavioral factors and the incidence of diarrhea with a P value 0.003 (<0.05). There was an influence between environmental factors and the incidence of diarrhea with a P value 0.001 (<0.05). It is necessary to inform the local government to always monitor and socialize to the public about the factors that influence diarrhea.

Abstract

A healthy society is realized if there is awareness of every member of the community about the importance of healthy behavior, desire, and empowerment to live a healthy life. One of the efforts to empower the community is by conducting posyandu activities. One of the causes of the decline in service satisfaction and visits at the posyandu is due to the low skills of cadres. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between cadre service quality and adherence to visits by mothers with toddlers to the posyandu in Sarilaba Jahe Village, Biru-Biru District, Deli Serdang Regency in 2022. This type of research used quantitative research with a cross sectional design. Data analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately using the chi square test with a sample of 48 mothers with toddlers who were taken randomly using simple random sampling. The results of the bivariate analysis with the chi square test obtained the value of tangible service quality (sig P = 0.002 < 0.05), reliability (sig P = 0.001 < 0.05), responsiveness (sig P = 0.001 < 0.05) , assurance (sig P = 0.002 < 0.05) and empathy (sig P = 0.002 < 0.05) indicate that there is a relationship between cadre service quality and compliance with visits by mothers who have toddlers to posyandu in Sarilaba Jahe Village, Biru-Biru District. Deli Serdang Regency in 2022. Suggestions for cadres to always provide knowledge, understanding and health education about the importance of Posyandu for toddlers so that there is motivation for mothers of toddlers to visit Posyandu.

Abstract

Hospitals play a critical role in preventing nosocomial infections, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is a key strategy for protecting healthcare workers and preventing pathogen transmission. This cross-sectional quantitative study aimed to assess the influence of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Committee's performance on PPE compliance at Sembiring Hospital. A total of 57 healthcare workers participated and were surveyed using structured questionnaires. Data were analysed using univariate, bivariate (Chi-square) and multivariate (logistic regression) methods. All IPC performance indicators, surveillance, supervision, policy and procedure development, training, education effectiveness, participation and collaboration, and PPE availability, were significantly associated with PPE compliance. Multivariate analysis showed that education effectiveness had a significant effect on compliance (p = 0.002; Exp(B) = 16.655; 95% CI: 2.707?90.543). These findings suggest that strengthening the IPC Committee's role in delivering effective education is essential to improve PPE compliance among healthcare workers. For policy and practice, hospitals should prioritise continuous IPC training programmes and institutionalise periodic competency assessments to enhance adherence to PPE protocols and safeguard both staff and patients Keywords: IPC Committee, PPE Compliance, Infection Prevention, Hospital Policy

Abstract

Background : Based on 500 indoor air quality investigations that have been conducted in the last decade, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) found the main sources of indoor air quality problems including the presence of sources of contamination in the room (16%), contamination originating from from outdoors (10%), microbes (5%), building materials used (4%) and others (13%). The Indonesian Association of Public Health Experts/FKM conducted research on 350 employees from 18 companies in the DKI Jakarta area during July-December 2020. Based on the results of this study, 50% of people working in office buildings experience SBS. Method : This type of research is an analytic survey observation with cross-sectional the number of samples in this study as many as 45 people. The sampling technique of this study was simple random sampling with the chi-square test and determination of the prevalence ratio (PR). Results : The physical condition of the quality of the work environment met the requirements on the variables temperature (p-value = 0.229 ), lighting (p-value = 0.001), humidity (p-value = 0.033). Conclution : There is no effect between temperature and SBS, there is an effect between lighting and humidity with SBS.
