Abstract

This research aims to find out how to develop animated video learning media to improve the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VI students. This research is based on several problems, namely students who do not understand the discussion of learning material because mathematics is considered boring and it is difficult to memorize formulas. This made students unable to solve problems in the learning process. This research used research method and development using 4D research model. The sample of this research consisted of 25 students, with the first step not using animated videos and the second step using animated videos. The research instruments used in this research were tests (essays) and questionnaires. The research results showed that the feasibility level was 92% in the "very valid" category, the practicality level was 92% in the "very practical" category, and the effectiveness level was 88.52% in the "effective" category. These results can also be seen from the pretest with an average value of 34 and posttest with an average value of 92, so the average N-Gain Score was 88.52%. So, it can be concluded that the development of animated video learning media can improve the Mathematical problem solving abilities of 6th Grade of Elementary School students.

Abstract

This study aims to see how fraction puzzle media influences students' ability to solve problems, assess the effectiveness of puzzle media, and students' responses to media use. This study uses a quantitative method with a pre-experimental type one group pretest-posttest design approach. A total of 31 students from Wira Mandiri Private Elementary School in Medan Labuhan District, Medan City, were used as samples in this study. This study uses several instruments, including tests, student, and teacher response questionnaires. Through the research that has been conducted, it was found that fraction puzzle media has a positive influence on problem-solving abilities. The average student score increased during the post-test after the media was used compared to the pre-test. Positive responses can be seen from the teacher and student response questionnaires, this media is considered effective and suitable for use during the learning process. The findings in this study provide an overview that using fraction puzzle media can facilitate understanding of fraction concepts while strengthening students' ability to solve problems.

Abstract

The research that has been conducted is entitled "THE EFFECT OF DISCUSSION METHOD ASSISTED WITH FLASHCARD ON THE ABILITY OF ADDITION OF LOW GRADE STUDENTS IN MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH" which is based on the fact that students' addition arithmetic operation ability in Mathematics is quite concerning because students are less interested and consider Mathematics as a difficult and boring subject. The curriculum has stipulated that teachers must be innovative in designing classroom learning. Must use methods and media that can foster enthusiasm and make it easy for students to understand the material in learning. The methodology of this research uses a quasi-experimental design pretest-posttest control group. The population in this study were 42 students in grade I of Darul Mustafa Integrated Islamic Elementary School. The sample of this study was 25 students in the experimental class and 17 students in the control class. This study aims to see the effect of students' arithmetic operation ability using the flashcard-assisted discussion method with those who do not use the flashcard-assisted discussion method. Based on the research that has been done, the results obtained that there is a significant effect of the application of the flashcard-assisted discussion method on students' addition arithmetic operation ability in Mathematics. This can be seen based on the average value of the addition arithmetic operation ability using the flashcard-assisted discussion method of 90.8. While the class that did not use the flashcard-assisted discussion method obtained an average value of 85.8. Based on the T test, it was obtained that Tcount <Ttable, namely -11.32 <1.746 and -14.35 <1.711.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the numeracy ability of grade I students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Based on Cognitive Level. The research method used is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The population used by all students of MIN 4 Medan. Sampling from the population used the Issac Michael technique which obtained a result of 249 from the entire population. Furthermore, samples were taken using cluster sampling which was specifically for classes I, A and I B, a total of 56. The test instrument is in the form of an objective description of the "filling" and the results are in the form of scores. The data analysis in this study is a descriptive quantitative data analysis. The results showed the numeracy ability of students in class I MIN 4 Medan, namely: 1) the level of remembering for the "high" category was 37 students or 75.51%; for the "medium" category: there are 4 students or 8.16%; and the "low" category there are 8 students or 16.32%. 2) the level of understanding for the "high" category was 28 students or 57.41%; the "medium" category has 16 students or 32.65%; and the "low" category there are 5 students or 10.20%. 3) the application rate for the "high" category was 18 students or 36.73%; the "medium" category has 29 students or 59.18%; and the "low" category has 2 students or 4.08%. The implication in this study is to increase the practice of contextual questions and carry out game-based learning.
