Abstract

The aim of the research is to determine the effectiveness of contextual learning with Handout and Arthropod’s preservation of high school students learning outcomes. The research was conducted at SMA N 1 Bulu Sukoharjo Regency with research method by Pre-Experimental Design. The sample was X IA 1 and X IA 4 which taken by purposive sampling technique. The results showed that there was an influence on the results of psycomotor learning in the category very effective with percentage reach 85,94%, while the results of cognitive learning is in the category less effective with percentage 48%. The average of the students questionnaire responses after joining the learning was in very good criteria. Generally, the teacher and the students also gave good responses on the implementation of the learning. The conclusion of the research is the application of contextual learning with Handout and preserved Arthropod’s not yet effectively applied in learning.

Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of guided inquiry learning with flash based Invertebramedia on the learning outcome of senior high school students. The research was done in SMA N 1 Pamotan using Quasi Experimental Design. The sample of the study was X MIPA 1 class (experimental group) and X MIPA 2 class (control group) which was taken by purposive sampling technique. The results showed that there were increasing of cognitive’s learning outcome of the experiment group was 80% and control group was 34.2%. There was a significant difference in the average of cognitive learning outcomes of the experimental group and control group. Analysis of affective and psychomotor aspects showed that learning outcome the experimental group higher that the control group. So, the activity of students during learning process was enchancement. The average of the student’s questionnaire responses after joining the learning was 84.9% in good criteria. The teacher and the students also gave good responses on the implementation of the learning in general. The conclusion of the research is the application of guided inquiry learning with Invertebramedia based on flash influence on high school student’s learning outcomes.

Abstract

Observation was done to biology teachers and students in MAN 2 Semarang, so that students have not experienced difficulty of learning the Animalia material. The less of media and facilities make students' motivation low, so it impacts on learning outcomes. The classical completeness average of daily tests on the material value of invertebrates is less than 60% with a minimum completeness criteria (KKM) is 75. The model can be used in providing an understanding of Animalia matter is learning Quantum Learning. The Quantum Learning is learning to use a syntax TANDUR (Tandur/Grow, Alami/Natural, Namai/ Name, Demonstrasikan/Demonstrate, Ulangi/Repeat, Rayakan/Celebrate). The research was conducted in MAN 2 Semarang with the research method used Pre-Eperimental, One Shot Case Study. The research design used in this research is quantitative 1q. The research steps include making proposals and instruments, testing trial and feasibility, instrument validation, application of learning method and end data processing. The results are cognitive and psychomotor learning outcomes. The cognitive learning outcomes showed the classical completeness of experimental class 95% and 90%, the average value of class X IPA 1 85 and 80. Psychomotor learning outcomes showed the experimental class average 82 and 81 with good criteria. Based on the data obtained indicates that the method applied is effective to maximize the learning outcomes. The learning outcome is effective when classical learning completeness reached ≥75% of the total and ≥75% for psychomotor aspect. Therefore, according to the results of this study, it can be concluded that the application of Quantum Learning- assisted Interactive Multimedia learning model towards student’s learning outcomes in Animalia material on SMA / MA and teachers give a positive response to the applied learning. Further, it can be imlied that Quantum Learning-assisted interactive multimedia learning model effect on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku suplemen IPA terpadu, mengetahui kevalidan, kepraktisan dan kefektifan buku suplemen IPA terpadu dengan tema Pendengaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan Research and development. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku suplemen IPA terpadu dengan tema pendengaran dinyatakan valid dengan hasil validasi pakar rata-rata sebesar 3,40. Berdasarkan hasil tanggapan siswa mengenai kepraktisan buku suplemen pada uji coba skala kecil dan skala besar buku suplemen IPA terpadu termasuk dalam kriteria praktis dengan sedikit revisi. Hasil belajar kelas VIII D SMP Ya BAKKI 1 Kesugihan dari 30 siswa didapatkan ketuntasan klasikal siswa sebesar 97% dengan hasil rata-rata nilai akhir siswa adalah 75 serta rata-rata hasil N-Gain adalah 0,34 yang menunjukkan bahwa buku suplemen efektif dijadikan sebagai pendamping buku teks utama. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah buku suplemen yang dikembangkan efektif dan praktis dijadikan sebagai pendamping buku teks utama. Buku suplemen yang dikembangkan akan lebih sempurna jika beberapa saran yang ada dapat diperbaiki lebih lanjut dan penelitian ini hendaknya dapat diteruskan oleh peneliti selanjutnya dengan kelas, sekolah, dan materi yang berbeda. This study aims to determine the validity, practicability and effectiveness of integrated supplement books with the theme of Hearing. The research was carried out by Research and development approach. The results showed that the integrated science supplement books with themes hearing declared invalid by the results of expert validation by an average of 3.40. Based on the results of student responses regarding the practicality of the book supplements on a small scale trial and a large scale integrated science book supplements are included in the practical criteria with slight revisions. Learning outcomes junior class VIII D Ya BAKKI 1 Kesugihan of 30 students obtained classical completeness students by 97% with an average yield of final grades of students is 75 and the average results of N-Gain is 0.34 which indicates that the book be used as an effective supplement The main textbook companion. The conclusion of this study is an effective supplement guide developed and practically used as a companion to the main textbook. Book supplements are developed to be more perfect if there are some suggestions that can be further improved and this research should be continued by further research with classroom, school, and different materials.

Abstract

Termite is one type of insect include order Isoptera, that recorded about 200 species in Indonesia and has been identified just 179 species. Economic losses aused of termites in Indonesia have reached billions rupiah each year. One of the control it using the vegetable insecticide, which can be used as an alternative to ontroled insect because it meets the criteria that is safe, cheap, and easy to apply the farmers. One of the ingredients that can be used as an insecticide substitute is the mangrove. Secondary metabolites found in mangroves are alkaloids, phenolics, steroids and terpenoids where the active component is pharmacological, toxic and ecologic. This study aims to determine the effect of mangrove leaf extract of Avecennia marina as a vegetable pesticide against mortality of ground termites Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren. The design of this study was experimental study with the dose tested 5 different treatments is0% (C-), 0.5%, 1%, 2% and borax 1% (C +) and the different duration is 3 hours, 5 hours, and 7 hours in5 repetitions. Data analysis using factorial test followed by Duncan test. Based on the result of the research, the concentration of 0,5% mangrove leaf extract solution with 3 hours long wood soak can kill the ground termite of Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren 100% in 3 weeks. Keywords: termites, mangroves, pesticides vegetable rayap, bakau, pestisida nabati Rayap merupakan salah satu jenis serangga dalam ordo Isoptera yang tercatat di Indonesia sekitar 200 jenis dan baru 179 jenis yang sudah teridentifikasi. Kerugian ekonomis akibat rayap di Indonesia telah mencapai milyaran rupiah tiap tahunnya. Salah satu pengendaliannya dengan menggunakan insektisida nabati, yang dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pengendalian serangga hama karena memenuhi kriteria yaitu aman, murah, dan mudah diterapkan petani. Salah satu bahan yang dapat digunakan sebagi bahan subtitusi insektisida adalah bakau. Metabolit sekunder yang ditemukan pada bakau-bakauan adalah golongan alkaloid, fenolat, steroid dan terpenoid dimana komponen aktif tersebut bersifat farmakologik, toksik dan ekologik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun bakau Avecennia marina sebagai pestisida nabati terhadap mortalitas rayap tanah Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan dosis yang diujikan5 perlakuan berbeda yakni 0% (C-), 0,5%, 1%, 2% dan boraks 1% (C+) serta variasi lama rendam kayu 3 jam, 5 jam, dan 7 jam sebanyak 5 kali ulangan. Analisis data menggunakan uji Faktorial dilanjutkan uji Duncan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh konsentrasi larutan ekstrak daun bakau 0,5% dengan lama rendam kayu 3 jam efektif dapat membunuh rayap tanah Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren sebesar 100% dalam 3 minggu. Abstract

Indonesia merupakan Negara dengan tingkat pertumbuhan penduduk yang tinggi. hal tersebut berdampak pada tingginya permintaan akan kebutuhan minyak nasional, yang diperdiksi hanya mampu memenuhi kebutuhan energi selama 11 tahun kedepan. Salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi krisis energi yaitu dengan memanfaatkan sumber energi alternatif seperti bioetanol. Selama ini, pengembangan bioetanol berasal dari bahan berpati dan bergula seperti tebu, ubi dan jagung. Padahal bahan-bahan tersebut merupakan sumber pangan yang cukup komersial, sehingga pengembangan bioetanol dari bahan tersebut dapat menimbulkan masalah yang krusial terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya pertimbangan dalam pemilihan sumber bioetanol yang ramah lingkungan seperti pemanfaatan gulma eceng gondok. Pengembangan bioetanol dari gulma eceng gondok tersebut melalui 4 tahapan yaitu tahan pre-hidrolisis treatment dengan asam sulfat 2%, hidrolisis dengan larutan buffer pH 7, fermentasi dengan memanfaatkan peran mikroba dalam sistem pencernaan rayap Macrotermes gilvus untuk mendegradasi selulosa dan destilasi untuk memurnikan bioetanol yang diperoleh. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan 5 kali ulangan. Variabel penelitian ini yaitu konsentrasi bioaktivator (0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% dan 50%) dan lama waktu fermentasi yaitu 48 jam dan 96 jam. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian menunjukkan sampel dengan lama waktu fermentasi 48 jam dan ditambahkan bioaktivator 50% memiliki kadar alkohol yang paling tinggi yaitu 2,2%.

Abstract

Subterranean termite, Macrotermes, play important role on plant nutritive cycles through disintegration and decomposition of organic matter processes.  In the other hand, subterranean termite can cause wooden damage in the nature and human dormitory as well. Therefore, Macrotermes are potential pest and need to be controlled.  Effective pest-control of subterranean termite can be made when their species status and distribution are well known. This research is aimed to identify the status of species and the dispersal of Macrotermes at their natural habitat in order to explore natural bio-resources richness and as an effort towards effective pest-control due to increasing risk of attack.  Survey method was used termite samples were collected at four different locations which are defined by global positioning system (GPS).  Nest classification is according to Meyer et al. (2003). The nest mapping is based on the elevations of their natural habitat in Gunung Halimun Salak National Park (900-1000 asl), and (600-700 asl), Yanlappa sanctuary (200-300 asl), and Ujung Kulon Nasional Park (0-100 asl). Phylogenetic relationships analysis showed that subterranean termite Macrotermes in the natural forest community are belongs to one big group Macrotermes gilvus Hagen. Based on nest size, the colony of Macrotermes can be classified into three different sizes: large, medium, and small nest.  Large and medium nest can be found in large amount in Yanlappa sanctuary (15 and 23 colonies, respectively) and the majority of small nest occurred in Gunung Halimun Salak National Park at 900 asl (78 colonies). Temperature and humidity is the most environmental factor that can influence on termite and other factor is rain fall, soil structure, and plant vegetation.   Keywords:  Distribution, identify, Macrotermes gilvus Hagen, nest

Abstract

The development of public awareness on the dangers of pesticides as preservatives demands environmentally friendly preservatives production. It is a great opportunity to develop and produce natural wood preservatives from Sengon wood waste (Paraserianthes falcataria). This community service program aims to improve the production of natural wood preservatives made from good quality Sengon wood waste which is safe for the environment. The method used is the application of prototype manufacturing of pilot plan scale wood vinegar to increase the production of ready commercial use natural preservatives. This community service activity will produce wood preservatives based on consistent quality Sengon wood waste, increased production capacity and increase the efficiency of timbers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi spesies serangga yang terdapat di Cagar Alam Ulolanang Kecubung, mengetahui indeks keragaman jenis serangga yang ditemukan dan mengetahui kualitas booklet yang dikembangkan berdasarkan hasil identifikasi serangga di Cagar Alam Ulolanang Kecubung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan melakukan dua tahap penelitian, yaitu tahap eksplorasi keanekaragaman serangga dan tahap pengembangan booklet hasil eksplorasi. Analisis data hasil eksplorasi meliputi indeks keragaman jenis Shannon-Wiener, indeks kemerataan, dan indeks dominansi Simpson. Sedangkan pengembangan booklet dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif persentase. Hasil penelitian ini adalah keanekaragaman serangga yang ditemukan di CA Ulolanang berjumlah 221 individu dari 25 spesies terdiri dari 18 spesies dari Lepidoptera, 6 spesies dari Odonata dan 1 spesies dari Coleoptera. Keanekaragaman jenis (H’) di CA Ulolanang terhitung tinggi dengan nilai 3,083. Rata-rata dominansi spesies menghasilkan nilai 0,05 dan kemerataan jenis bernilai 0,958. Kelayakan booklet oleh dosen ahli mendapat kualitas layak. Sedangkan berdasarkan tanggapan siswa sangat baik. Kata kunci: keanekaragaman hayati, booklet, serangga

Abstract

Subterranean termite Coptotermes spp. has been known as the most economically important structural pest in Indonesia. Due to morphological ambiguity, traditional identification of Coptotermes spp. has always been difficult and unreliable.  Through molecular diagnostic method, a study was conducted to determine genetic variation of Coptotermes spp. occurring in Java Island.  Termite specimens were collected from Banten 1, Banten 2, DKI 1, DKI 2, Jabar 1, Jabar 2, Jateng 1, Jateng 2, Yogya 1, Yogya 2, Jatim 1, and Jatim 2.  The method for identification was PCR-Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) analysis using four restriction enzymes each of which was applied to CO II amplicon for all the Coptotermes spp. being analyzed.  The results showed the existence of two species of Coptotermes in Java which are different from both Coptotermes gestroi and Coptotermes formosanus.
