Abstract

It is thought that the development of the Senjoyo River as a tourist attraction in Semarang Regency will cause changes to the natural ecosystem in the area, one of which is changing the structure of the existing gastropod community. This research is a quantitative analysis research using a survey method that aims to examine the structure of the gastropod community after the development of tourism activities on the Senjoyo River. Gastropod samples were taken from 10 different observation stations along the Senjoyo River, which are located at 7˚22'23"S and 110˚31'37"E. Observation station locations were determined by the purposive random sampling method, based on tourism activity density. The result showed types of gastropods that were found in the Senjoyo River namely, Sulcospira testudinaria, Tarebia granifera, Brotia costula, Thiara scraba, and Melanoides tuberculata with clustered distribution patterns (Id>1). Statistical analysis showed that location affected gastropod abundance (Asymp. Sig of 0.043), with the highest abundance found at station seven (45,11 individuals/m2). So station seven, with sandy and muddy substrate conditions, moderate current speed (0.257 m/s), and rarely found human activity, is the most suitable location to support the survival of gastropods in the Senjoyo River. Furthermore, the gastropod community structure indicates environmental changes at observation stations nine and ten, the locations where the most activities and construction of tourism facilities were found. That was indicated by the low diversity (H’= 0.00-0.01) and evenness (E = 0.00) index of gastropods, and there is dominance by Sulcospira testudinaria (C= 0.98-1.00).

Abstract

Conservation, recycling, and saving of water are kinds of green campus implementation that necessary in daily basis on campus life. This is because of water consumption in the campus environment is quite large and has the potential to cause degradation of water resources. This research aims to analyze internal and external factors that can support or hinder the implementation of a green campus at UKSW based at the water management criteria in the UI GreenMetric. Resullts of external and internal factor identification then used for arranged water management strategies using the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matric (QSPM) approach. The result show that the current position of UKSW water management is still in the "grow" and "build" phase at Internal-External (I-E) matrix, with IFE score of 2.549 and the EFE score of 3.368. Therefore, the most suitable strategy to implement is an intensive and integrative strategy referring to IFE and EFE. There are 15 strategies that have been successfully developed. That are consist of 5 S-O strategies; 5 W-O strategies, 3 S-T strategies, and 2 W-T strategies. The strategy with the highest Total Atractiveness Score (TAS) is allocating funds to empower UKSW human resources in the context of developing water and rainwater recycling technology as a form of implementing a green campus while also supporting participation in the UI GreenMetric ranking (TAS = 2.797)

Abstract

Rawa Pening Lake was be appointed as one of 15 National Priority Lakes (NPD) in Indonesia based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 60 of 2021, so a revitalization program was carried out in the lake. This study aims to determine the effect of revitalization on the population of Hydrilla verticillata in Lake Rawa Pening by comparing distribution data from observations in 2007. The distribution of Hydrilla verticillata was observed directly and the coordinates of its location were determined using the Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine distribution map compilation. using ArcMap Software version 10.1. The results showed that the population area of Hydrilla verticillata in Lake Rawa Pening was 0.029567 km2 or 0.11% of the total area of Lake Rawa Pening and was spread over six locations. There has been a decrease in the population area of Hydrilla verticillata by 1.65 km2 compared to observations in 2007 which is thought to have occurred due to a decrease in nitrogen and phosphate levels due to revitalization activities carried out after the establishment of Lake Rawa Pening as DPN.

Abstract

Pesticides are essential in agricultural pest control, but may also harm non-target organisms. In Temanggung Regency, Indonesia, interviews with tobacco farmers revealed that the insecticide Dursban 200 EC (chlorpyrifos) and the fungicide Manzate 82 WP (mancozeb) are most commonly used, leading to the emission to the aquatic environment of both active ingredients, often resulting in mixtures. The present study aimed at determining the acute toxicity of chlorpyrifos, mancozeb, and their combination to guppy fish (Poecilia reticulata). A 96 h survival assay was conducted on male guppies exposed to the individual pesticides and their equitoxic mixtures. Mortality data were analyzed using a logistic dose-response model, and the toxicity of the mixtures was analyzed using the Concentration Addition (CA) and Independent Action (IA) models. Chlorpyrifos was slightly more toxic to P. reticulata than mancozeb, with LC50s of 1.81 and 3.45 mg a.i./L, respectively. The combination of chlorpyrifos and mancozeb resulted in enhanced toxicity due to synergistic interaction according to the CA model, which suggests different modes of action of the two active ingredients. When analyzed using the IA model, the interaction, however, was also synergistic. These findings highlight the need to assess both single and combined pesticide exposures in ecological risk evaluations and emphasize cautious use of pesticide mixtures to protect aquatic ecosystems.
