Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan bakteri asam laktat (BAL) dan inulin bersumber dari umbi dahlia (Dahlia variabilis) terhadap ketahanan tubuh, kecernaan nutrien dan performan itik tegal jantan periode starter. Itik tegal jantan berjumlah 96 ekor umur 8 hari, starter BAL bentuk cair dan inulin dari tepung umbi dahlia digunakan pada penelitian ini. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Setiap ulangan terdiri dari 6 ekor itik. Perlakuan penelitian terdiri dari T0 (ransum basal/RB), T1 (RB + 2 mL starter BAL), T2 (RB + 0,8% tepung umbi dahlia), dan T3 (RB + 2 mL starter BAL dan 0,8% tepung umbi dahlia). Parameter yang diukur meliputi konsumsi ransum, kecernaan protein kasar, serat kasar, lemak kasar, asupan protein, rasio heterofil/limfosit (H/L), konversi ransum dan pertambahan bobot badan. Data dianalisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji wilayah ganda Duncan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi starter BAL dan tepung umbi dahlia nyata (P<0,05) meningkatkan kecernaan protein kasar, serat kasar, lemak kasar, asupan protein, rasio H/L, konversi ransum dan pertambahan bobot badan, tetapi menurunkan konsumsi ransum. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah kombinasi starter BAL 2 mL dan tepung umbi dahlia 0,8% (T3) menghasilkan ketahanan tubuh, kecernaan nutrien dan performan lebih baik.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui penambahan probiotik dalam ransum mengandung protein mikropartikel dan kadar lemak tinggi terhadap profil lemak darah dan kualitas daging broiler. Materi penelitian adalah day old chicken broiler unsex umur 1 hari berjumlah 200 ekor dan perlakuan diberikan umur 8 hari dengan koefisien keragaman 167,06 ± 11,43 g. Ransum disusun berdasarkan bahan pakan yaitu jagung giling,..bekatul,.bungkil.kedelai,.tepung ikan, minyak nabati, premiks,.CaCO3, lisin dan metionin serta Lactobacillus plantarum  sebagai probiotik. Penelitian disusun dengan.rancangan.acak lengkap.dengan.5.perlakuan.dan.4.ulangan (berisi 10 ekor tiap unit percobaan). Perlakuan.yang. digunakan : P0=Ransum dengan protein..non-mikropartikel; P1=Ransum dengan protein mikropartikel; P2=Ransum dengan protein mikropartikel dan kadar lemak 4%+L. plantarum 1,2%; P3=Ransum dengan protein mikropartikel dan kadar lemak 6%+L. plantarum 1,2%; P4=Ransum dengan protein mikropartikel dan kadar lemak 8%+L. plantarum 1,2%. Parameter yang diukur meliputi asupan lemak, profil..lemak..darah..(kolesterol, trigliserida,..high..density..lipoprotein/HDL,..low..density lipoprotein/LDL), dan kualitas daging (kadar lemak dan kolesterol). Data terolah menggunakan uji  sidik ragam dan.beda.nyata.Duncan.pada.taraf.5%. Hasil.penelitian.menunjukkan bahwa penambahan L. plantarum 1,2% dalam ransum mengandung protein mikropartikel 18% dengan kadar lemak 4-8% berpengaruh.nyata.(p<0,05).terhadap.asupan lemak, profil lemak darah (kolesterol, trigliserida, HDL, LDL), dan kualitas daging (kadar lemak.dan.kolesterol)..Kesimpulan adalah penambahan L. plantarum 1,2% dalam ransum mengandung protein mikropartikel 18% dengan kadar lemak 4% (P2) mampu menurunkan asupan lemak, profil.lemak.darah.(kolesterol,.trigliserida, HDL, LDL), dan kualitas daging (kadar lemak dan kolesterol).

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan sumber minyak yang berbeda terhadap kecernaan lemak dan kualitas daging ayam broiler. Ternak percobaan sebanyak 144 ekor unsex dan sumber minyak (minyak sisa penggorengan, minyak kelapa sawit dan minyak bekatul). Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 6 perlakuan  dan 4 ulangan (masing-masing unit berisi 6 ekor). Perlakuan yang diterapkan meliputi T1 (ransum dengan 1,5%  minyak sisa penggorengan), T2 (ransum dengan 3%  minyak sisa penggorengan), T3 (ransum dengan 1,5%  minyak kelapa sawit), T4 (ransum dengan 3%  minyak kelapa sawit), T5 (ransum dengan 1,5%  minyak bekatul) dan T6 (ransum dengan 3%  minyak bekatul). Parameter yang diukur meliputi kecernaan lemak, bobot relatif lemak abdominal, massa lemak daging dan massa kolesterol daging.  Data diuji menggunakan uji Anova dan uji beda nyata Duncan pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan minyak berbeda berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kecernaan lemak, bobot relatif lemak abdominal, massa lemak dan kolesterol daging. Kesimpulan adalah penggunaan minyak bekatul 1,5 and 3% (T5 and T6) pada  ayam broiler mampu menurunkan kecernaan lemak, bobot relative lemak abdominal, massa lemak dan kolesterol daging.Kata kunci: sumber minyak berbeda, kecernaan lemak, kualitas daging, ayam broilerABSTRACTThe research aims to determine the utilization of different oil sources on fat digestibility and meat quality broiler chicken. Experimental animals were 144 birds of unsex dan oil sources (waste oil, palm oil dan rice bran oil). The present experiment was assigned in a completely randomized design with 6 treatments and 4 replications (6 birds each). Treatments were as follows: T1 (diet with 1,5% waste oil), T2 (diet with 3% waste oil), T3 (diet with 1,5% palm oil), T4 (diet with 3% palm oil), T5 (diet with 1,5% rice bran oil), and T6 (diet with 3% rice bran oil). Parameter measured were fat digestibility, relative weight of abdominal fat, fat meat mass and cholesterol meat mass. Data were subjected to analysis of Anova and Duncan of level 5%. Results of the present study indicated that the feeding of three different oil sources of significantly (P<0,05) on fat digestibility, the relative weight of abdominal fat, fat meat mass, and cholesterol meat mass. In conclusion that feeding of 1,5 and 3% rice bran oil (T5 and T6) in diet broiler chicken able to decrease fat digestibility, the relative weight of abdominal fat, fat meat mass, and cholesterol meat mass.Keywords: different oil sources, fat digestibility, meat quality, broiler chicken

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan mengevaluasi penerapan kombinasi pakan double step down (DSD) dan asam sitrat (AS) dalam meningkatkan efisiensi usaha peternakan broiler. Penelitian disusun dalam rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Sebanyak 168 ekor broiler strain MB 202 umur 7 hari dengan bobot badan rata-rata 186,23±0,68 g dibagi dalam 7 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan (@ 6 ekor broiler). Perlakuan sebagai berikut: T0 (pakan kontrol tanpa step down dan AS), T1 (pakan DSD tanpa AS), T2 (pakan DSD + 0,8% AS jeruk nipis), T3 (pakan DSD + 0,4% AS sintetik), T4 (pakan DSD + 0,8% AS sintetik), T5 (pakan DSD + 1,2% AS sintetik) dan T6 (pakan DSD + 1,6% AS sintetik). Parameter yang diamati meliputi bobot karkas, biaya pakan serta income over diet cost (IOFC). Data dianalisis dengan uji F dilanjutkan uji Duncan (P<0,05) dan polinomial ortogonal (PO) untuk menentukan level optimal AS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bobot karkas tidak berbeda (P>0,05) akibat perlakuan. Perlakuan kombinasi pakan DSD dan AS sintetik 0,4-1,2% (T3-T5) nyata (P<0,05) menurunkan biaya pakan dan meningkatkan IOFC dibanding kontrol (T0). Berdasarkan perhitungan PO, dapat ditentukan level optimal AS sebesar 0,96%. Kesimpulan penelitian bahwa penerapan kombinasi pakan double step down dan asam sitrat 0,8-1,2% dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif peningkatan efisiensi produksi pada broiler. Kata kunci: pakan step down, asam sitrat, efisiensi produksi, broiler

Abstract

The research was aimed to evaluate the combination effect of inulin dahlia tuber and Lactobacillus spdevelopment micro flora on intestinal and productivity of crossbred local chicken. The present researchwas assigned in a completely randomized design with factorial pattern, 2x3. The first factor was two levelsof dahlia tuber powder as inulin source 0.8% (A1) and 1.2% (A2), and, the second factor was three levels ofLactobacillus sp namely, without Lactobacillus sp (B0), 1.2 mL (108 cfu/mL) (B1) and 2.4 mL (108 cfu/mL)(B2). Each treatment combination was replicated four times with seven birds each. Parameters observedwere total of lactic acid bacteria (BAL), Escherichia coli, pH and body weight gain. The results showed thatfeeding inulin dahlia tubers at 1.2% and Lactobacillus sp at 1.2 mL (108 cfu/mL) sp either in partial orinteraction significantly (P<0.05) affected the total LAB, E. coli, pH and body weight gain. In conclusion,combination of inulin from dahlia tubers and Lactobacillus can increase total LAB and body weight gain,decrease total E. coli and pH.

Abstract

The present research was aimed to clarify the effect of feeding Salvinia molesta in crossbred native chicken on productive performance based on the ability of protein utilitation. The reseach was arranged in a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications (5 birds each). The animals used in the present study were 100 birds of crossbred native chicken. The treatments given were as follows: T0 (diet without Salvinia molesta ), T1 (diet with 6% Salvinia molesta), T2 (diet with 12% Salvinia molesta), T3 (diet with 18% Salvinia molesta). Parameter observed namely feed consumption, nitrogen retention, muscle protein mass, and body weight gain. The data were analysed using anova, when the effect of the treatments was significant, then duncan’s multiple range test was applied. The results showed that the treatment of feeding Salvinia molesta indicated a sinificant effect (p<0.05) on nitrogen retention and productive performance. Feed consumption, nitrogen retention, muscle protein mass, and the body weight gain of T1, T2, and T3 were significantly higher (p<0.05) than those of control (t0), while among treatments T1, T2, and T3 were not different. Feeding Salvinia molesta up to the level of 18% can improve nitrogen retention and productive perfomance of crossbred native chicken.Doi: 10.12777/ijse.5.1.19-24[How to cite this article: Ma’rifah, U. Abstract

The aimed of the study was to enhance utilization of Lactobacillus Sp. and Saccharomyces sp. as starter for fermentation of waste cabbage and green mustard to enhance the utility of rice bran as an ingredient of poultry feed. The first stage of the study was to characterize the extract of fermented wasted vegetable with difference concentration of glucose and different period of time for incubation. Completely randomized design using 3 x 3 factorial with three replications was used for the first stage of the study. The second stage of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the extract of fermented wasted vegetable to improve the quality and utility of rice bran. Completely randomized design with four treatments and 4 replications. The third stage of the study was to obtain the value of nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus retention, as well as metabolic energy of rice bran after fermentation in broiler hatching. The third stage analysis was conducted by t-test analysis. The results of the study showed that the microbial characteristics on the extract of fermented wasted vegetable in two days incubation time and 2% concentration of glucose was able to produce pH of 3.80, log of total lactic acid bacteria 7.38 and types of microbes that grow predominantly were Lactobacillus Sp. and Saccharomyces Sp. The effectiveness of the extract fermented wasted vegetable for the fermentation of rice bran were shown in additional concentration of extract wasted vegetable of 40% with a moisture content of  toluene 65.24%, 13.36% ash, 14.93% protein, 7.61% crude fat, 12.39% crude fiber, nitrogen free extract material (NFE) 51.59% and 0.07% biomass. The biological value and the availability of fermented rice bran were higher than unfermented rice bran on the broiler chickens after hatching. The values were justified from nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus retention also metabolic energy. The study concluded that the benefits and utility of rice bran could increased by fermentation using 40% extract of fermented wasted vegetable from vegetable market with 2% glucose concentration and 2 days incubation time.Doi: 10.12777/ijse.4.2.2013.97-102 [How to cite this article: Utama, C.S., Suthama, N., Sulistiyanto, B., Setiani, B.E.  (2013).
