Abstract

A tourism village is one kind of tourism that offers tourism potential owned by a village. Tampaksiring Village is one of the villages that had becoming a tourism village in Gianyar Regency, Bali. One of the concepts in the development of tourist villages is community-based development which focuses on local community participation. Thus, it is to be expected that the benefits of tourism will be more for the local community as the legal owner of the resources. This study aims to 1) identify and explain the profile of tourism potential in Tampaksiring Tourism Village, 2) explain the community participation in the development of Tampaksiring Tourism Village, 3) explain the implications of the development of Tampaksiring Tourism Village. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, literature studies, and document studies both online or offline. The theory used to analyze the problem in this study is the theory of participation and the theory of tourism impact. The results of this study indicate that the Tampaksiring Tourism Village has a variety of tourism potentials that can be developed as a tourist attraction. Local communities have a role in the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation processes in the development of tourism villages. Tourism activities in the Tampaksiring Tourism Village also have both positive and negative impacts on economic, socio-cultural, and environmental aspects.

Abstract

Abstract

The Ministry of Public Works and the Public Housing (PUPR) has proposed innovations named Rumah Instan Sederhana Sehat (RISHA) as a form of post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara in 2018. One of the villages that received the innovations was Bayan village. Bayan community does not accept RISHA to be built as their new residence. This research focuses on two problems: (1) Why the Bayan people performs resistance to RISHA and (2) how the form of the resistance of Bayan people to RISHA. This research aims to study the determinants and the forms of resistance that the Bayan people has committed to the RISHA. The study was conducted for two months using qualitative research methods implementing the model of ethnographic research. The ethnography itself includes observation techniques, interviews, and library studies. The supporting instruments of this research are interview guidelines, voice recording equipment, cameras, and stationery. Based on the results of the research, it is known that the determinant that causes the Bayan people commit to RISHA is indigenous belief and framing made by the Government connected to the politic elections in 2019. The form of resistance performed by Bayan people are doing traditional deliberations, destruction of modern elements in the ancient Mosque of Bayan Beleq, efforts to build their own homes, dodge and do not want to know, as well as looking for alternative houses other than RISHA.

Abstract

Dari perspektif struktural Levi-Strauss terungkap adanya struktur tersembunyi (struktur dalam) pada mitos Dewi Saraswati dan Mitos Dewi Durga. Dari hasil ana-lisis dan interpretasi kedua mitos tersebut dapat dipahami mengenai kepercayaan orang Bali yang beragama Hindu, yaitu pertama, umat Hindu di sini bersifat mono-theisme. Ini terungkap dari miteme dan ceriteme kedua mitos tersebut yang meng-indikasikan adanya kemiripan, baik Dewi Saraswati maupun Dewi Durga sama-sama sebagai sakti dewa. Kedua, umat Hindu di Bali menganut animisme dan dinamisme. Hal ini ditandai terjadinya jalinan hubungan bersifat harmonis antara umat Hindu dan kaki-tangan (bhuta-bhuti) Dewi Durga yang ditempuhnya dengan cara melakukan kegiatan-kegiatan ritual di tempat-tempat yang biasanya diyakini sebagai tempat per-semanyamannya. Ketiga, umat Hindu di Bali bersifat religius. Hal ini ditandai dengan pelaksanaan pengorbanan suci, yaitu upacara keagamaan yang terakumulasi dalam panca yadnya yang telah menyatu dengan adat-istiadat di Pulau Dewata.

Abstract

In the mid 20th century, tourism has been reached by technology, especially with the internet network. One of the changes that is the result of technology evolution is the developing model of production and consumption of goods and services, called the sharing economy. One of the successful example of sharing economy technology that is currently popular with tourists is Airbnb. The specific objective of this research is to understand and describe thoroughly the sharing economy and its implications for cross-cultural communication of hosts and guests in in North Kuta District. Rhenald Kasali, Professor of FE UI said that "Sharing the economy is an attitude of participation in economic activities that creates value, independence and prosperity". Deddy Maulana (in Darmastuti, 2013: 3) states that in a matter of communication, harmony is the meaning of conversation. According to E.B Taylor, what is called culture is a form of method used to survive that is owned by certain individuals / groups and then passed on from generation to generation. The research method used in this research is a qualitative research. The role of the host in giving an impression of local life is very important in order to create a good impression on the eyes of guests. Interact and communicate with locals who help these guests at being able to see things from different point of view. With the role of the host in introducing local life to the guests, it will lead to an understanding in which generally everyone has different views about the world and culture in each community. When hosts and guests communicate, the other party hears different opinions, this, then, builds mutual respect, respect and compromise. For foreign guests, the cross-cultural communication created Broadens insight and understanding of political, religion and social status issues that affect the lives of local residents.

Abstract

The dance drama gambuh is a performing art in the form of total theater. In addition to the dominant elements of dance, there are also elements of other arts such as percussion, literary arts, vocal / dialogue arts, fine arts, and make-up that are harmoniously integrated and beautiful. The dance drama gambuh has become a sacred dance in Pedungan Traditional Village, Pedungan Village. Currently the development of the dance drama gambuh is no longer a foreign art among teenagers, this is evidenced by the high interest of teenagers who want to dance this dance when it is performed at temples and at Balinese art parties. Thedance drama gambuh has succeeded in introducing its dance outside the province and even abroad to be precise in Germany. Thus this research formulates the following problems, (1) the existence of the dance drama gambuh in Pedungan Traditional Village, Pedungan Village and (2) the meaning of the dance drama performance gambuh in Pedungan Traditional Village, Pedungan Village. This research uses the structural functional theory from Radcliffe-Brown, the symbolic interpretive theory from Clifford Geertz, and the theory of the meaning of symbols proposed by Victor Turner. These three theories are used because they have a relationship in the dance drama gambuh. The data collection technique starts with the informant determination technique, the observation technique, and the interview technique. This dance drama performance gambuh has meanings contained in the story such as religious meaning, aesthetic meaning, socio-cultural meaning, education meaning, and identity meaning. The results of this study reveal that the dance drama gambuh still exists among children, adolescents, and adults. With the establishment of the Kerta Jaya studio, which was built by I Kadek Sudiarta dance drama gambuh this can be introduced to children as the next generation so that dance drama gambuh this doesn’t disappear. The dance drama gambuh has also become an identity in Pedungan Village.
