Abstract

Communication in a ritual perspective is about the process that occur in religious ceremonies. The process of the ceremony involves the interaction that is carried out by the implementation of ceremonies such as the tegen sawa in Ngaben ceremony at Babakan Gerung, especially in Banjar Suka Wardaya. This ritual is carried out when there are banjar residents who died in a sequent within a few days. The essence of the ritual emphasizes the role of women in shoulder sawa. This study aims to determine the form of communication, communication processes and the meaning of communication that exist in tegen sawa rituals at Ngaben ceremony in Babakan Gerung. This study uses a qualitative paradigm with a phenomenology. Religious theory, symbolic interaction theory, phenomenological theory, and communicative action theory are used in expressing the processes that occur in this ritual. The location of this research is at Banjar Suka Wardaya, Babakan, Gerung Utara, West Lombok. The techniques to collected data in this study is by observation, interviews and documentation. Informants were determined by purposive technique. The results of this study indicate the ritual implementation of tegen sawa performed by women is able to solve the phenomena that occur. The form of tegen sawa ritual communication in the Ngaben ceremony is interpersonal communication and group communication. The communication process that occurred began with a phenomenon that occurred in the community so that the Kelihan Banjar held dialogue with the members of the banjar, the family of the seda and Sulinggih. The ritual is carried out based on mutual agreement and also carried out together by the banjar’s members. The meaning of ritual communication in the ceremony of Ngaben tegen sawa of religious meaning, togetherness, education and social culture.

Abstract

Communication in the perspective of religious ceremonies focuses on the processes that occur in it. The process creates an interaction that realizes the implementation of the black chicken mecaru (mecaru siap selem) as a ritual medium to close the water well in the yadnya ceremony at Karang Baru Utara environment of Mataram City. The ceremony is carried out when there are Hindus who no longer use wells as a source of water in their daily life. This study aims to determine the form of communication, the communication process and the meaning of communication of mecaru siap selem.The qualitative paradigm with a phenomenological approach is the study method in this research. Theories used to know the processes that occur in this ceremony are the theory of religion, symbolic interaction theory, phenomenology, and the theory of communicative action. The location of this research at Karang Baru Utara, Mataram.The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the mecaru siap selem can overcome phenomena that can occur. The communication forms of mecaru siap selem in the yadnya ceremony are symbolic communication, transcendent communication and interpersonal communication (interpersonal). The communication process is indicated by the availability of the offerings (bebantenan) as a means accompanied by a Priest and prayers to pray to Vishnu, equipped with the metabuh pecaruan process as a complement to this ceremony. Abstract

Hindu figures have an important role in motivating Hindu youth. In this case, Hindu leaders need a strategy in basic communication to be able to answer what problems can be overcome the issues they have. This communication strategy is structured because of the various information obtained in advance so that there is a more effective and efficient discussion related to Hindu youth education. This study aims to find out what communication strategies are used by Hindu leaders in Gerung District to foster the motivation of Hindu youth in their environment to open their minds so they can choose to study at IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram. The approach used in this research is qualitative. Theories used in revealing the forms and processes that occur are interpersonal communication theory, phenomenological theory, and Communication Strategy. The location of this research is in Gerung Utara District, West Lombok Regency. Data collection techniques in this study through observation, interviews and documentation. The purposive technique determined informants. The results of this study indicate that there are two stages, namely planning and management, to achieve a goal. At the planning stage, the process of analyzing in advance the problems in the environment, knowing the wishes of Hindu youth, determining the goals to be achieved by Hindu figures, determining topics to be discussed and raised by Hindu leaders, and determining the delivery media. While at the management stage it has a process of exposure and education to Hindu youth and supervision and evaluation of Hindu youth.

Abstract

The communication strategy for managing and structuring the Kuta tourist area ahead of MotoGP 2023 will provide valuable insight into the role of local government in facing the challenges and opportunities faced in holding this international sporting event. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach with primary data sources obtained from local government, residents, and tourists. This research discusses the strategies of policymakers in preparing for international events. The analysis carried out in this research is regarding the role of MotoGP in increasing tourism in the Kuta area, residents as part of the success of the MotoGP event, communication strategies in management and arrangement of the Kuta tourism area, and implications for management of the Kuta tourism area. This matter's importance was discussed to create conducive comfort for tourists during MotoGP 2023.

Abstract

Personal branding of politicians through social media as political communication in attracting Gen Z people will provide insight into what Gen Z people want with personal branding owned by politicians on social media. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with primary data sources obtained from Mataram City politicians, the General Election Commission and Gen Z people. The location of this research is Mataram City. This research discusses Social Media as Political Communication of Politicians Ahead of the 2024 Election, Personal Branding of Politicians Through Social Media, The Role of Social Media as a Source of Political Information in Increasing Gen Z Support and Gen Z Perception and Response to Political Communication of Politicians. Data obtained from the General Election Commission shows that 18 political parties will compete in the Mataram City area with a total of 534 candidates. The importance of this matter is discussed to provide views to politicians in Mataram City regarding the political communication desired by Gen Z people through social media platforms ahead of the 2024 Election.

Abstract

Government policy regarding the green economy (environmentally friendly concept), mass media also plays a role in inspiring the younger generation to innovate in creating sustainable solutions. This research will examine how mass media can shape the views of generation Z and millennials about the importance of the green economy in the context of Indonesia Emas 2045, mass media can motivate generation Z and millennials, mass media representation of the perceptions of Generation Z and Millennials and the creation of a sustainable ecosystem into economic policy. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation analysis. Research location is Mataram City Mass Media with a focus on Suara NTB, Lombok Post and Radar Lombok. Informant selection technique with purposive sampling. This research also uses the News Factory Model and Audience Reception Theory approaches. The results of this study state that the implications of mass media on the role of generation Z and millennials are very significant, this is because the news that is carried out continuously (intensely) can increase the awareness of Generation Z and Millennials of renewable energy, natural sustainability and green economy towards Indonesia Emas 2045. This is supported by the participation of Generation Z and Millennials in social activities carried out by the mass media.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (KKN) was carried out in Dusun Awang Madya, Giri Madia Village, focusing on financial literacy education to improve household welfare. The program was motivated by low financial literacy levels in rural communities, leading to weak financial management, consumptive spending, and lack of long-term planning. The objective was to increase children's and housewives' understanding of basic financial concepts, help them differentiate between needs and wants, and train them in simple budgeting. A participatory-educative method was applied through planning, socialization, training, and evaluation stages. The target group involved 15 children (elementary and junior high school students) and 10 housewives. Results showed that children could recognize income and expenditure, and distinguish needs from wants through games, while housewives were able to record household finances and draft short-term plans. The final evaluation indicated improved awareness and skills, although further assistance is required. Overall, the program significantly enhanced financial literacy and supported household welfare at the local level.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha sejak dini melalui pelatihan ekonomi kreatif bagi anak-anak di Dusun Monto, Desa Kuripan, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Melalui pendekatan edukatif partisipatif, peserta tidak hanya mempelajari keterampilan teknis pembuatan gelang manik-manik, tetapi juga memahami konsep dasar ekonomi kreatif, literasi keuangan sederhana, serta strategi pemasaran digital melalui media sosial. Program dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan utama, yaitu perencanaan, penyampaian materi dan pelatihan praktik, serta evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta mampu menghasilkan produk dengan desain yang bervariasi dan menarik, memiliki kepercayaan diri yang lebih tinggi, serta minat yang kuat untuk berwirausaha. Program ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap pemberdayaan generasi muda di Dusun Monto dan menjadi fondasi penting bagi pengembangan ekonomi kreatif masyarakat secara berkelanjutan.
