Abstract

Abstract : The Action Classroom Research is an attempt to improve the Seventh A Class students? skills in expressing Simple Descriptive Monologue at SMP Negeri 1 Air Kumbang, Banyuasin. This study used three cycleswith ICARE System through five stepswhich are Introduce, Connect, Apply, Reflect, and Extend. The data were taken from observation and questionnaire for qualitative data and individual assessment report for quantitative data. Finally, it was found that ICARE system could (1) improve the students? skill in expressing simple descriptive monologue, (2) improve the students spoken English with correct pronunciation, and (3) Improve the students? courage in expressing simple descriptive monologue.

Abstract

This study used qualitative research method includes a study of literature, analysis descriptive method, historical and philosophical approach by considering substantial and functional relation between information and opinion from Jabir Ibn Hayyan’s manuscripts, ‘Mukhtâr Rasâ’il vol. 1 (collected by Paul Kraus, 1935). Even though he was influenced by mysticism, Jabir categorized as a pioneer of modern chemistry knowledge with empirical principle and scientific method base on experiment, contrary to the development was inclined of speculative rational at the time, mixing with Greek mysticism. His concept of atom is more advanced than Democritus atomism, parallel to Dalton’s atomic theory. His concept of Mizan mixing mysticism influence and cosmology, compounding quantitative and qualitative aspects of chemistry processes. Jabir used chemistry technique such as distillation, evaporation, sublimation, filtration, metal mixture, calcinations and so on.

Abstract

Textbooks will not be separated from the applied curriculum. There are four aspects analyzed in the pedagogical content analysis of the textbook research: the accuracy of concepts, the accuracy of curriculum objectives, the readability of texts, and the visual representation. This study aimed to compare the pedagogical content of biology textbooks on structures and functions of animal tissues from different curricula (the 2006 Education Unit Level Curriculum, the 2013 Curriculum, and the 2016 Revised Edition of the 2013 Curriculum) for class XI. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method and a content analysis technique. The research sample was the biology textbooks for class XI compiled by Sri Pujiyanto and published by Platinum. The research instrument was a content analysis protocol by codification (data coding). The results showed that the accuracy aspects in the sample books with the 2006 Education Unit Level Curriculum, the 2013 Curriculum, and the 2016 Revised Edition of the 2013 Curriculum were more dominant and categorized as adequate. The books with the 2013 Curriculum and the 2016 Revised Edition had better accuracy than those with the 2006 Education Unit Level Curriculum book. The text readability aspect of the three sample books was not suitable for class XI students. The books with the 2013 Curriculum and the 2016 Revised Edition of 2013 Curriculum had better visual representation than the book with the Education Unit Level Curriculum. The three sample books showed that the relationship with the material content was more dominant in the meaningful category, the relationship with reality was more dominant in the real category, and the visual representation function was more dominant in the explanatory category.

Abstract

Religiousity has not received adequate attention among scientists and educational researchers. Fundamental problems faced by the Islamic university and school is how to strengthen the integration of religiousity into science education. It should be further explored the life and work of Muslim chemists. In this case, Jabir ibn Hayyan, seems to be the most authoritative figures Muslim chemists to be explored further. This research is based on factual historical research model. The object of this study is a collection of writings Jabir ibn Hayyan Classical Arabic in Mukhtar Rasa `il vol.1 (scripted by Paul Kraus 1935), using a qualitative approach to descriptive analytical method, combining historical and philosophical approach, taking into account the substantial and functional relationship between information and obtained and the views contained in the manuscript.  Jabir had engage religiousity his Philosophical thought on divinity, universe, human, society, and knowledge. He had also enhanced religiousity into educational practice, especially in chemistry education. His thoughts could be simplified as an integrative educational thought and balance. Jabir promote holistic education that integrates the various aspects in a balanced education fields, and encourage positive interaction between educators and learners, prioritize based on experiment and observation.Keywords:  religiousity, chemistry, science, education, philosophy

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                            Pelaksanaan penilaiain portofolio masih memiliki keterbatasan, diantaranya dibutuhkan waktu cukup lama dalam pelaksanaannya, dibututuhkan tempat untuk pengumpulan setiap portofolio. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi, diharapkan pengembangan penilaiain electronic portfolio (e-portfolio) dapat menjadi solusi keterbatasan penilaian portofolio konvensional. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle. Penelitian pengembangan ini mengikuti model Borg and Gall yang dimodifikasi Sukmadinata dengan melibatkan tiga langkah utama, yaitu : 1) studi pendahuluan, 2) pengembangan, dan 3) pengujian (implementasi) yang melibatkan dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kontrol dengan design pre-test post-test control group design. Hasil penelitian diperoleh electronic portfolio berupa web berbasis Moodle dengan alamat http://klieks.com dengan kualitas penilaian produk dari aspek rekayasa perangkat lunak 82% (sangat baik), aspek visual/tampilan 75% (baik), aspek komunikasi visual 78% (baik). Electronic portfolio efektif dalam meningkatkan tugas portofolio siswa serta dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen. Tanggapan siswa terhadap implementasi electronic portfolio termasuk kategori kuat. Kata Kunci : Elektronik portfolio, assessment   ABSTRACT The implementation of portfolio assessment still has limitations, including the need for a long time in its implementation, a place for gathering each portfolio is needed. Along with technological developments, it is expected that the development of electronic portfolio assessment (e-portfolio) can be a solution to the limitations of conventional portfolio assessment. This research development uses the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). This development research follows the Borg and Gall model modified by Sukmadinata involving three main steps, namely: 1) preliminary study, 2) development, and 3) testing (implementation) which involves two classes, namely the experimental and control class with pre-test design post-test control group design. The results obtained by the electronic portfolio of web-based Moodle address http://klieks.com with the quality of product assessment from the aspect of software engineering 82% (very good), visual aspects / appearance 75% (good), visual communication aspects 78% ( well). Electronic portfolio is effective in increasing student portfolio assignments and can improve student learning outcomes in the experimental class. Student responses to the implementation of the electronic portfolio included in the strong category. Keywords: electronic portfolio, assessment

Abstract

Mosques serve as places of worship as well as community empowerment, social services, educational opportunities, and boosting local economies. The economic development of mosques in Cirebon City is carried out by utilizing their potential, such as religious, culinary, and cultural tourism. This program aims to discover the potentials of 22 mosques in the city of Cirebon. The method of community service uses ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development). As a result of this program, the 20 mosques taking part in the workshop can determine their potential, including home-based businesses/crafts, stalls outside the mosque, income from infaq, and majelis ta'lim as the potential to establish a Cooperative of Jamaah Masjid (KOPJAMAS).

Abstract

Abstrak. Penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif dalam pembelajaran biologi telah banyak diteliti di Indonesia dan hasilnya telah terpublikasi. Untuk menguji keefektifitasannya maka dibutuhkan pengkajian ulang terhadap penelitian tersebut dengan metode yang dikenal meta-analisis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis besar pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif dalam pembelajaran biologi secara keseluruhan serta berdasarkan kategori jenjang pendidikan, variabel terikat dan tipe kooperatif menurut Robert E. Slavin. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan teknik meta-analisis terhadap 50 hasil penelitian eksperimen (pretest-posttest) yang terpublikasi pada google scholar. Berdasarkan hasil analisis Cohens’d nilai besar pengaruh secara keseluruhan adalah 0,44 yang termasuk dalam efek sedang. Adapun berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan menunjukkan efek sedang dengan pengaruh yang lebih besar pada jenjang SLTA (d sama dengan 0,47) dibanding SLTP (d sama dengan 0,35). Sedangkan pada aspek variabel terikat memiliki nilai efek gabungan yang hampir sama dalam kategori efek sedang, yaitu variabel hasil belajar dan pemahaman konsep (d sama dengan 0,44) serta pengetahuan metakognitif dan kemampuan berpikir kritis (d sama dengan 0,43). Adapun nilai besar pengaruh ditinjau berdasarkan tipe kooperatif menunjukkan pengaruh lebih baik untuk tipe STL (d sama dengan 0,55) dengan efek besar dibandingkan tipe SCL (d sama dengan 0,44) dan tipe metode informal (d sama dengan 0,41) dengan efek sedang. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan model pembelajaran kooperatif memiliki pengaruh baik terhadap hasil belajar siswa, sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif model pembelajaran yang efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran biologi.Abstract. This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of cooperative learning model in biology learning as a whole and based on the category of education level, dependent variable and cooperative type according to Robert E. Slavin. The method used is quantitative with a meta-analysis technique on 50 experimental research results (pretest-posttest) published on Google Scholar. Based on the results of Cohens'd analysis, the overall value of the influence is 0.44 which is included in the medium effect. Meanwhile, based on education level, it showed a moderate effect with a greater influence at the senior high school level (d equal to 0.47) than in junior high school (d equal to 0.35). Meanwhile, the dependent variable has almost the same combined effect value in the medium effect category, namely learning outcomes and concept understanding (d equal to 0.44) as well as metacognitive knowledge and critical thinking skills (d equal to 0.43). The value of the magnitude of the effect reviewed based on the cooperative type showed a better effect for the STL type (d equal to 0.55) with a large effect than the SCL type (d equal to 0.44) and the informal method type (d equal to 0.41) with a moderate effect. This shows that the overall cooperative learning model has a good influence on student learning outcomes, so that it can be used as an alternative learning model that is effectively applied in biology learning.

Abstract

The Utilization of Mega Mendung Traditional Symbols and Elements as Visual Identity for Local Indonesian Products. This research explores the utilization of the Mega Mendung batik motif in the visual identity design of Indonesian local products and its impact on market appeal. Through a qualitative approach, the research analyzes how the integration of traditional elements in the packaging of culinary and souvenir products can enhance visual appeal and add value to the products. The results indicate that consumers respond positively to products featuring designs that incorporate traditional elements, as they are perceived as more authentic and culturally valuable. The challenges of integrating traditional and modern elements can be addressed through effective collaboration between designers, producers, and other stakeholders to ensure a design that is both harmonious and market-appropriate. This study emphasizes the importance of traditional elements in creating a strong visual identity and product differentiation, as well as the need for a collaborative approach to enhance the competitiveness of local products in the global marketplace.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to provide digital drawing visualization training to students of SD Sinar Dharma, West Jakarta. The program is conducted by lecturers and students from the Visual Communication Design Study Program, Faculty of Art and Design, Tarumanagara University (UNTAR). The training utilizes the IBIS Paint application to teach basic digital drawing techniques, coloring, and creating simple illustrations. This activity not only enhances students' technical skills in digital art but also fosters their creativity and imagination. Additionally, the program is expected to nurture students' interest and talent in the arts, providing them with skills relevant to current technological advancements. The outcomes of this activity include a journal manuscript and a mapping concept through a poster submitted as Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI). With an interactive and innovative approach, this activity positively impacts the educational development and creativity of SD Sinar Dharma students.
