Abstract

This research aims to explain the interest of Indonesia cooperate with Germany on the field of defense by Jakarta Declaration in 2012-2016. Germany was chosen because it has excess in defense industry and plays an important role in the modernization of Indonesia’s defense equipment. The sign of MoU has been done between two countries since February 2012 which includes the purchased of Main Battle Tank Leopard, Marder, and fly training plane, education for soldier, joint military exercises along with defense industry development by Transfer of Technology.Data of this research was obtained from books, journals, articles, official documents and websites that support the hyphothesis. The author used Neorealism approach from Kenneth Waltz and nation-state level analyze. The theories used in this research concist of International Relations, the national interest by Daniel S. Papp, and security concept by Barry Buzan.The result of this research show that when cooperate with Germany there are benefits for Indonesia, this cooperation made a major impact on changes in military power possessed by the armed force of the Republic of Indonesia, mainly on the strenght of the military land defense equipments in the quality and quantity. Germany can fulfill need of Indonesia equipment force. Indonesian defense equipments getting better and military equipment which are sophisticated so that be a part of factors support Indonesia be the best position of strenght military in Southeast Asia.Keywords: Jakarta Declaration, International Relations, National Interest, Defense Cooperation, Modernization of Defense Equipments.

Abstract

This study is to examine the role of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in dealing the poaching of rhinos in Zimbabwe. The country has the third largest rhino herd in Southern Africa. The country's endangered rhino population makes the WWF as an environmental organization that also address the issue of endangered species, participating in efforts to conserve this species. Poaching is a major problem in Zimbabwe. In 2015, poachers killed 51 rhinos in Zimbabwe. WWF is the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by more than one million members in the United States and close to five million globally. WWF's unique way of working combines global reach with a foundation in science, involves action at every level from local to global, and ensures the delivery of innovative solutions that meet the needs of both people and nature. WWF began operations in Zimbabwe in 1983.The research method used in this study is library research method. Most of the data collected through library research, online data retrieval, books, journals, literature and document. The data was then analyzed with theoretical approaches associated with theories of International Relations such as the International Organizations Role Theory.The study concluded that WWF has done his role as international organizations in dealing the poaching of rhinos in Zimbabwe. WWF in collaboration with Zimbabwe Government to establish The Lowveld Rhino Conservancy Project (LRCP), rhino translocation, habitat management, dehorning, rhino patrol, protect conservation area, application DNA profiling of rhino horn for Forensic analysis, and Strengthening Local and International Law Enforcement. WWF also to establish The African Rhino Programme. WWF and TRAFFIC has been monitoring the rhino trade. WWF Promotes Wildlife-Based Tourism.Keywords: WWF, Rhino Poaching, Government, Zimbabwe

Abstract

This research explains the Chinese strategy ineffectiveness to dominate the South China Sea post Permanent Court Arbitration in 2016. The Court declined the China’s nine dash line claim and decided to accept Philipine’s claim on the region dispute. This research also explores the Chinese strategy to dominate the South China Sea which militarily speaks louder regarding to its massive military power development and its huge number of economic power especially since 1990s.The research applies two approach which are balance of power and maritme security approach. The maritime security approach consists of two aspects: maritme security regime and maritime security community. The maritime security approach is used to explain the South China Sea regional secuity complexity. The strategy theory is used to explain China’s strategy to dominate the South China Sea. This research is developed by qualitative methods with library studies technique.The result of this research shows that South China Sea regional security problem complexity has caused China’s strategy became ineffective. These complexity consists of China’s aggresiveness in the region, the internal and external balance of power in the region, and security dilemma in the South China Sea. Abstract

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Malaysian Prime Minister,Najib Razak, in 2013 agreed to improve bilateral strategic partnership relationships. China invests in infrastructure, property, industry and economic sectors along the One Belt One Road sea route in an effort to protect supplies and have political influence through the Strait of Malacca. China is also helping to restore the debt of troubled state assets 1Malaysia Development Berhad with a large amount of investment. This study aimed to explain the steps taken by China which is very surprising considering that Malaysia has a complex problem about the investment state assets of 1MDB. This research guided by a qualitative explanation method and the data obtained comes from books, journals, report, working papers, internet sites and other sources related to research. The focus of this research is why China keep on investing a huge amount in Malaysia that was in degradation of investment climate after nation-asset 1MDB trouble. The theoretical framework applied in this research are neo-liberalism supported by the theory of interdependence by Keohane and Nye, theory of determinants of foreign direct investment by Dunning and China Outward Direct Investment by Buckley to strengthen the goals and opportunities that exist in Malaysia that make China confident to provide large-scale investment. The research showed that China investments in Malaysia has attracted by opportunity in Malaysia’s potential economic market. China is Malaysia's largest trading partner and Malaysia is top 3 China's largest trading partner in Southeast Asia and the history relations between countries. Even after the investment degradation, China still managed developing investments in infrastructure through Pan Asia Railway Network, expanding property by Bandar Malaysia projects, developing energy resources by buying a whole stocks of Edra Global Energy Bhd and building any sectors that could facilitate the One Belt One Road agenda. Abstract

This research aims to explain the political economy strategy used by Xiaomi Inc in entering the mobile market (smartphone) in India. India as the world's second largest mobile market becomes a marketing target for Xiaomi. Xiaomi in an attempt to enter the smartphone market of India could defeat product of other smartphone vendors such as Samsung Group, Apple Inc, Lenovo Group and the other phone’s Companies. This research uses neo-liberalism perspective. It also uses Foreign Direct Investment theory by Stephen Hymer and level analysis is Groups. Abstract

This research aims to provide an overview regarding the Task Force Maluku IDN-NL and its role in sustaining NKRI and explain about the existence of the Moluccan diaspora in the Netherlands and lays out some of the efforts made by the Task Force Maluku IDN-NL to NKRI, as well as in maintaining the connection for the Moluccan diaspora in the Netherlands.This research is qualitative research that uses descriptive methods, techniques and data collection from the book, the interview via Email, journals, official publications and websites that are relevant. This research uses the perspective of neo-realists and the theory of multi-track diplomacy by John Mc. Donald and Louise Diamond. The object of this research is the Indonesian Diaspora Network Netherland (IDN-NL), which was set aside on a Task Force of Maluku.The results showed that the Task Force Maluku IDN -NL has a significant role as the sole representative of the entire Maluku diaspora that is in the Netherlands to maintain NKRI. This is in line with the success of the cooperation in the field of environment and health SSVA as well as the presence of circular open letter provided by TF Maluku to three College will conduct cooperation to hold the seminar "Beta Maluku Mau Maju " with the RMS in the Netherlands.Key Words : IDN-NL, Moluccas Task Force, Moluccan Diaspora, Role.
