Menurunnya jumlah tenaga kerja di sektor pertanian merupakan ancaman bagi keberlangsungan pembangunan pertanian. Partisipasi pemuda di bidang pertanian sangat dibutuhkan. Tujua penelitian ini adalah mengetahui tingkat motivasi pemuda tani untuk bekerja di sektor pertanian dan faktoR apa saja yang berhubungan dengan motivasi mereka. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Padang Cahaya Kecamatan Balik Bukit Kabupaten Lampung Barat. Ada 72 responden pemuda yang bekerja di bidang pertanian dan diwawancarai menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan penelitian tingkat motivasi pemuda tani untuk bekerja di sektor pertanian termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Faktor yang berhubungan dengan motivasi mereka bekerja di bidang pertanian adalah pendidikan, pendapatan, dan luas lahan. Kata kunci: Motivasi, Pemuda tani, Pendidikan

This study was aimed at analyzing the performance of agricultural instructors, participation and community satisfaction in agricultural extension activities in Kotagajah District, Central Lampung Regency. The study used a qualitative research approach. The method used in this field survey was the survey method. The results of the study provided information that the performance of agricultural extension workers as facilitators in Kotagajah District, Central Lampung Regency was good. The instructor had helped poktan (agricultural group) members to get good saprotan (agricultural equipment) and working capital, had helped members to attend training held by government / private institutions, had helped groups collaborate with government agencies or agriculture services, had helped groups collaborate with other farmer groups, and had helped groups in compiling work programs and designs for quality improvement in agriculture. Evaluation on the instructor performance has found that the agricultural instructors used material the suited the farmers need, mastered good technical and practical knowledge when delivering teaching materials, were able to manage internal and external communication with farmers, conveyed information about the importance of agricultural groups and joining the groups, responded to complaints and problems of farmers, and facilitated farmers' problems. Community participation in agricultural extension programs organized by the agricultural instructors consisted of several activities such as: being active in farmer groups, farmers joining farmer groups, farmers giving advice on the development of farmer groups, and farmers proposing extension activities. The community in general was quite satisfied with the performance of agricultural extension instructors in Kotagajah District, Central Lampung Regency. This study aims to identify and formulate the needs of community around the PT PLN Katibung Sub District in South Lampung District on CSR program. The research was conducted in the Gotong Royong, Mataram, Sukamaju, and KampungBaru villages of Katibung Sub District, South Lampung District as the locations of implementing CSR programs by PT PLN. The number of 84 respondents was taken using proportional random sampling. The analysis methods were quantitative and descriptive qualitative analysis. The Results showed that: The needs of community around PT PLN included: 1) economy: developing the potential of the village to increase economic activities such as the potential for volcanic rocks in Gotong Royong and Kampung Baru, marine and tourism potential in Sukamaju, and the potential of using fly ash in the Mataram, 2) social: public health improvement programs either through the establishment of free medical check up or health infrastructure as ‘Puskesdus’in four villages around PT PLN, 3)environmental: sanitation improvement program by widening and deepening gutter of PT PLN to anticipate flood because of runoff in the Gotong Royong, Mataram, Sukamaju, and Kampung Baru villages. The purposes of this study are to examine the role of cassava farmer groups, factors related to the role, the level of cassava farming income and the relationship between the role and the income in Siswo Bangun Village, Seputih Banyak District, Central Lampung Regency. Respondents were 87 cassava farmers involved in 18 farmer groups. This research was conducted in January 2018 and used a survey method. Data analysis used descriptive analysis and Rank Spearman correlation test. The results showed that the level of the role of farmer groups was classified as moderate. Factors significantly related to the role of cassava farmer groups were the role of extension workers and leadership of farmer group leaders. Cassava farming income in Siswo Bangun Village, Seputih Banyak District, Central Lampung regency was classified as moderate, which was Rp21.925.801 per ha per season. The objectives of this research are to find out: the agricultural extension workers’ performance level in implementing Panca Usaha Tani (Five Principles of Agricultural Modernization Package), the level of corn farming advancement, and the correlation between Agricultural Extension Workers’ performance and the implementation of Panca Usaha Tani in corn farming, and the level of corn farming advancement in Ketapang subdistrict of South Lampung Regency. The research data was coollected from September to October 2012. Respondents in this research were 10 Agricultural Extension Workers and 30 farmer groups that were selected purposely. The research applied a survey method and the data was analyzed by descriptive analysis and Rank Spearman’s correlation. The results showed that the Agricultural Extension Workers’ performance level in implementing Panca Usaha Tani in corn farming was high. Agricultural Extension Workers’ performance including agricultural issues identification, work plan preparation, corn farmer groups fostering, knowledge and agricultural technology transfer were also high, yet, the cooperation of Agricultural Extension Workers with related agencies was fair. The level of corn farming advancement in Ketapang Subdistrict, South Lampung Regency was high. The indicators including income, productivity, and the use of modern input were also high overall.) There was significant correlation between Agricultural Extension Workers’ performance with the implementation of Panca Usaha Tani in corn farming, but there was no correlation between Agricultural Extension Workers’ performance with the advancement of corn farming and the implementation of Panca Usaha Tani in corn farming with the advancement of corn farming. This research aimed to determine the role of farmers group on the improvement of coffee farmers’ income, the level of coffee farmers' income, and the changes of coffee farmers' income before and after being members of farmers group. The research was conducted on purposein Tugusari Village of Sumberjaya Subdistrict, West Lampung Regency by survey method. The samples of this research were 89 coffee farmers who are members of farmers group. The research data collection was conducted from September 2013 until March 2014. The research data was analyzed descriptively and by paired sample t test difference. The results showed that the role of farmers group on improving farmers’ income was classified as high; the average level of coffee farmers’ income per year per hectare before and after being members of farmers group were Rp10,797,325 and Rp20,068,064; and the average improvement of coffee income per year per hectare was Rp9,270,738. This research aims to identify and analyze the performance of pineapple farmer group members, their household income, and the correlation between the performance and the income. This research was conducted in Astomulyo village, Punggur subdistrict, Lampung Tengah disrtrict, from Desember 2015 to March 2016. The research is a survey method using a quantitative approach. Respondents were 77 farmers, members of 11 pineapple farmer groups. The samples were determined using allocation proportional random sampling technique. The data collection was done by interviews and observation. The results showed that: 1) the performance of pineapple farmer group members is catergorized in a high classification, 2) the average household income of pineapple farmer group members is Rp66,597,177.00 per year, and 3) there is e significant correlation between the performance of members of pineapple farmer groups and the household income level. The purposes of this study are to analyze level of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs)’s performance in Technical Implementation and factors related to the level of the performance in working area of Jati Agung Subdistrict of Lampung Selatan District,. This research was conducted in Jati Agung Subdistrict of Lampung Selatan District in September-October 2017. Respondents were 76 randomly selected rice farmers in the area. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis and Rank Spearman correlation test. The results indicated that the level of performance of AEWs in Technical Implementation is included ina medium category. Reward system is significantly related to the level of AEWs’ performance, while motivation level, income level, education level, number of farmers, and distance of residency are not significantly related to the level of AEWs’ performance in Technical Implementation Unit Jati Agung Subdistrict.Key words: AEW, performance, Technical implementation unit

The purposes of this study were to determine the level of adoption of integrated crop management ’jajar legowo’ innovation in lowland rice cultivation, related factors, household income of lowland rice farmers after adopting the innovation, and to know the relationship between the adoption rate and the welfare of farmers. This research was conducted in Palas Jaya and Pulau Tengah Villages, Palas District, South Lampung Regency. Respondents were 68 rice farmers taken proportionally and randomly from each of the two villages. Adoption of ‘jajar legowo’ planting system in Palas Jaya and Tengah Tengah Villages of Palas District, South Lampung Regency was high (92.64 percent). Factors related to the adoption were characteristics of innovation, characteristics of farmers, the role of extension workers, and household welfare of wetland rice farmers. Annual household incomes of rice farmers adopting integrated crop management were Rp24,251,188.24 consisting of Rp18,310,012 from on farm, Rp5,058,823.53 from nonfarm and Rp882,352.94 from off-farm activities. There is a significant correlation between the level of adoption of innovation in integrated crop management of paddy rice and household welfare of rice farmers.Key words: adoption, income, welfare

The aim of this research is to know the application level of organic vegetables cultivation technology in Karangrejo Village North Metro sub district, Metro City. This research was conducted May until June 2014 in Karangrejo Village North Metro sub district, Metro City. The research method used case study to got samples with Arikunto’s formula, by working 48 respondents. The data analysis was done descriptively. The results showed that: The application level of organic vegetables from cultivation technology in Karangrejo Village in the middle category with an average level applicability of 75 percents. The application level of technology have been applied well, there are activities on planting, watering, and post harvesting. The level of implementation needs to be improved were seeds/seedlings and harvesting. Key words: application, technology, organic vegetables
