Abstract

Background: Stunting is a growth and development disorder in children resulting from poor nutrition, repeated infections, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation. Children affected by stunting are more vulnerable to various diseases. Long-term consequences include impaired cognitive and motor development, along with increased healthcare costs. Exposure to secondhand smoke, whether direct or indirect, is believed to contribute to stunting. This study aimed to investigate secondhand smoke exposure as an indirect cause of stunting.Method: This study used a cross-sectional approach with a sample of 99 children under five years old residing in the Nipah Health Center area, Malaka Village, North Lombok. The sample was taken using stratified proportional random sampling. Descriptive statistics and Chi-square tests were employed to analyze the data and test the research hypothesis.Result The prevalence of stunting was 38.38%. Although none of the mothers reported smoking during pregnancy, 98.98% of them were exposed to cigarette smoke from their husbands, family members, or neighbors. Exposure occurred multiple times in both home and public environments, typically lasting less than 15 minutes. The statistical analysis showed no significant association between secondhand smoke exposure and stunting. Despite the lack of a statistically significant relationship, exposure to secondhand smoke remains a public health concern. Preventive measures should be prioritized. Health promoters are encouraged to intensify anti-smoking campaigns. Smoking cessation counseling should be delivered door-to-door, particularly targeting households with pregnant women and toddlers. Educational materials such as flyers, short messages, and inspirational stories disseminated via social media platforms like WhatsApp can serve as effective health promotion tools.

Abstract

AND adherence AND social support”.

Abstract

Abstract

Kitchen workers face significant workloads due to exposure to high temperatures, long working hours, and non-ergonomic postures, putting them at risk of fatigue, musculoskeletal disorders, heat stress, and chronic exhaustion. This study aims to summarize the latest findings on the impact of workloads on kitchen workers based on the six dimensions of NASA-TLX. The study design is a quantitative systematic review of the last five years through PubMed and Google Scholar, following the PRISMA guidelines for the selection process. A total of 11 articles met the inclusion criteria. The results show that physical workload, including prolonged standing, repetitive movements, and non-ergonomic postures, is significantly associated with musculoskeletal disorders, with a prevalence of 92.3%. Working hours exceeding 8 hours are linked to fatigue, increased presenteeism, and a decreased quality of life, while heat stress was reported as a major health concern. Support from coworkers was found to mitigate the impact of physical and psychosocial workload. In conclusion, improvements in ergonomics, work hours and shift arrangements, increased ventilation, and enhanced psychosocial support are necessary to mitigate health risks associated with excessive workloads among kitchen workers.

Abstract

Background: Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease that poses a public health problem in various tropical countries, including Indonesia. This disease is caused by Leptospira bacteria, which can infect humans through contact with the urine of infected animals. Method: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of surveillance and response programs for leptospirosis in Indonesia using a systematic literature review following the PRISMA guidelines. The data used were collected from three main databases: Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and PubMed. Six articles met our criteria and were included in this research. Results: The results of the study indicate that the surveillance program continues to face challenges, including a shortage of trained health workers, suboptimal case reporting and recording systems, and inadequate intersectoral coordination. Although the leptospirosis mortality rate has decreased, the fluctuating case count underscores the need to improve the surveillance system and prevention efforts. Conclusion: Increasing the capacity of health workers, optimizing the surveillance system, and strengthening coordination between sectors are needed to improve the effectiveness of leptospirosis prevention and control programs in Indonesia.

Abstract

Background: Pregnancy among adolescents rates are still relatively high worldwide, and adolescents' awareness of reproductive health is still low. Another significant issue is risky sexual conduct. Adolescents have more options to independently research topics on the internet and social media in the digital age. However, there are now more questions about the accuracy and quality of information found online. In order to create more successful interventions, this study intends to investigate global trends in teenagers' information-seeking behavior related to reproductive health. The types and sources of information that teenagers most frequently access on sexuality and reproductive health have not been extensively mapped in previous research studies. The formulation of a theme framework that identifies the most popular categories and resources of reproductive health information among adolescents is what makes this study new. This framework can be used to guide the creation of need-based sex education programs.Materials and Methods: This research used the PIOT method (Population, Issue, Outcome, and Type of research). A systematic literature search was conducted using the PubMed and ScienceDirect databases with the keywords “seeking information” AND “health reproduction” AND “sexsuality” AND “adolescent”. Studies employing qualitative interviews were selected due to the sensitive nature of the topic, allowing for deeper exploration of adolescents' experiences. Results: Results show that the most frequently used sources of information are schools, peers, and digital media. The most commonly sought topics include contraception, teenage pregnancy, sexuality, and puberty. Conclusion: he study underscores the need for multi-channel approaches that integrate digital tools with support from teachers and parents, tailored to adolescents’ cultural and social contexts. Keywords: Adolescent Reproductive Health, Information-Seeking Behavior, Global Perspectives, Adolescents.
