Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan latihan jalan tandem lebih meningkatkan keseimbangan lansia daripada latihan balance strategy. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian Pre and Post Test Two Group Design yang dilakukan pada bulan Januari sampai Februari tahun 2017 dan populasinya adalah lansia di Banjar Umacandi, Desa Buduk, Kecamatan Mengwi dengan umur 60–74 tahun. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan simple random sampling. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 12 orang pada kelompok 1 dan 2. Pada Kelompok 1 diberikan latihan jalan tandem dan Kelompok 2 diberikan latihan balance strategy. Keseimbangan lansia diukur menggunakan Berg Balance Scale. Hasil penelitian pada Kelompok 1 diperoleh nilai rerata peningkatan keseimbangan sebelum latihan 40,67±4,09 dan setelah latihan 52,50±2,84. Kelompok 2 diperoleh nilai rerata peningkatan keseimbangan sebelum latihan 40,33±3,98 dan setelah latihan 48,83±3,85. Uji beda nilai rerata setelah latihan ditemukan bahwa peningkatan keseimbangan pada Kelompok 1 lebih besar daripada Kelompok 2 dengan dengan persentase sebesar 29% pada Kelompok 1 dan 21% pada Kelompok 2. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa latihan jalan tandem lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan keseimbangan daripada latihan balance strategy pada lansia.Kata Kunci: lansia, keseimbangan, jalan tandem, balance strategy

Abstract

This study aims to determine the skipping exercise with high step technique to increase men basketball player vertical jump in junior high school 1 Denpasar. This research method is pre–experimental which used one group pre-test and post-test group design conducted in May to June 2014 where the population of this study was students in junior high school 1 Denpasar who follow the basketball extracurricular , they were at the age of 12–15 (mean 13.2±0.616) years old. Sampling technique in this study is purposive sampling with a sample of 20 people. The sample joined to do skipping exercise with high step technique for 4 weeks which was 3 times a week. The results the of study by using the paired sample t-test showed that the mean increase in vertical jump before and after exercise showed p=0.000 (p <0.05) mean difference 7.25±1.06. The conclusion is skipping exercise with high step technique significantly increase the vertical jump among basketball player by 1.97%.

Abstract

The problem that occurs in new students is anxiety. This anxiety can be caused by changes in the social environment. This change in situation causes uncertainty which will lead to increased secretion of adrenaline. Academic problems such as study load can be another factor for students experiencing anxiety. When someone feels anxious, there will be an increase in the hormones cortisol, epinephrine, and norepinephrine which is affect the central nervous system, causing a state of wakefulness and increasing alertness in the central nervous system. This will make it difficult for students to start sleeping and cause poor sleep quality. This study aims to determine the relationship between anxiety and sleep quality in the new students in Prodi Fisioterapi Universitas Bali Internasional. This study used a cross sectional study design. The sampling technique used is the total sampling for 29 people. The research was conducted at the Program Studi Fisioterapi Universitas Bali Internasional in December 2021. Measurement of sleep quality using PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) and anxiety measured using HSR-A (Hemiilton Rating Scale for Anxiety). Data  were analyzed with SPSS 23.0, using the  chi  square  test. The results between anxiety and sleep quality is p=0,001 (p<0,05), which means  that there  is  a  significant relationship between anxiety and sleep quality in new students.

Abstract

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is one of the most common musculoskeletal injuries in the knee joint. One of the treatments for this injury is reconstruction. Pain is one of the most frequent problems that occur following reconstruction. Isometric quadriceps exercise can be given to reduce pain after phase I reconstruction in patients with ACL injuries. This study was a pre-experimental study with a one group pre and post-test design. This study was conducted in the outpatient room of Bali Royal Hospital Denpasar from March to May 2022. The subjects of this study were 20 patients with ACL injury following phase I reconstruction at Bali Royal Hospital, who met the eligibility criteria of this study. The quadriceps isometric exercise was performed 3 times a week for 4 weeks. Pain was measured using the visual analogue scale (VAS). In this study, the average pain score before and after exercise was 6 ± 1.257 and 3.4 ± 1.046 respectively. The results of data analysis on pain reduction using the paired t-test showed p = 0.000 (p <0.05), it means that there was a significant reduction in pain following isometric quadriceps exercise. It can be concluded that isometric quadriceps exercise can reduce pain in patients following phase I reconstruction of the ACL at Bali Royal Hospital.

Abstract

Football is a group sport that is popular all over the world that has a high risk of falling and impacting so that it can cause injury. To avoid this, a medical team must be prepared such as doctors and physiotherapists, either prepared by the team or provided by the match organizer. Basically Physiotherapy aims to develop, maintain and restore movement and bodily function through manual manipulation, motion enhancement, functional exercises and communication at individuals and groups. This activity aims to provide the first treatment for injuries suffered by football athletes who compete in the Bima Nata Cup activities, especially in providing physiotherapy services for acute injuries. The methods used in accordance with the physiotherapy care system start from inputs: namely athletes who have suffered injuries, process: examination of athletes followed by the preparation of interventions according to the injuries experienced, outputs: athlete's recovery and outcomes: the athlete's satisfaction with the servants provided. The results of the services performed on the 15 football clubs that compete physiotherapists can help and provide treatment to athletes who have suffered injuries while competing. Based on the number of injury cases, the most cases of injuries to the ankle were 33%, injuries to the knee were 25%, injuries to the hamstring were 20%, injuries to the shoulder were 8%, injuries to the wrist were 8% and injuries to the wrist were 6%. The process carried out is in the form of a physiotherapy process which includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention and evaluation. Physiotherapy interventions carried out using the RICE method and the use of physiotherapy modalities in the form of exercise therapy. It can be concluded that there were 36 athletes who suffered injuries. And it can illustrate that the need for physiotherapy services in a football.

Abstract

Balance refers to the body's ability to maintain balance while adjusting to gravity, the ground, and other objects in its environment. Balance disorders can reduce the quality of life and reduce the independence of the elderly. Elderly people with balance disorders are at higher risk of falling, which can result in a variety of traumas, including broken bones, serious injuries, and even death. This activity aims to examine and provide education to the elderly regarding balance and various kinds of risks caused by balance disorders as well as preventive measures that can be carried out in the form of balance exercises. The method used in this activity is divided into several stages, namely the licensing and audience stages with the elderly, then the implementation stage of the activity by carrying out a balance check using the Fukuda step test. The next stage is to provide education about balance and preventive measures that can be taken to prevent balance disorders. The output of this activity is an increase in the quality of life of the elderly, while the outcome is the satisfaction of the elderly with the services provided. The results of this community service activity were the number of elderly who participated in the activity as many as 26 people with details of men totaling 8 (30.8%) people, while women totaling 18 (69.2%) people. There were 17 (65.4%) elderly who experienced balance disorders and 9 (34.6%) people with good balance. Based on these results, it can be concluded that many elderly people experience balance disorders in the Karang Lansia Rahayu Elderly Group, Banjar Kertha Bhuwana, Denpasar.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a period of transition and search for identity, which makes adolescents often follow trends that affect society and the environment. One of the adolescent behaviors caused by environmental exposure is smoking. Repeated smoking behavior will become a habit that can affect sleep quality and the risk of hypertension. This study aimed to determine the relationship between smoking habits and sleep quality with the risk of hypertension in adolescents. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional study design. The sample is determined by purposive sampling. The number of study participants was 52 adolescents. Smoking habits were measured using the Brinkman Index questionnaire, a Sphygmomanometer to measure blood pressure, and the Pittsburgh Quality Index Questionnaire (PSQI) to measure adolescent sleep quality. Computer software analyzed data using a chi-square test to determine the relationship between smoking habits to sleep quality and the risk of hypertension in adolescents. Results: The chi-square test of smoking habits and adolescent sleep quality was shown with a p-value of 0.008. The chi-square test results of smoking habits with risk of hypertension in adolescents were indicated by a p-value of <0.001. Conclusion: There was a significant positive relationship between smoking habits to sleep quality and the risk of hypertension in adolescents.

Abstract

AbstractThe increasing elderly population leads to a higher risk of functional decline, including reduced VO₂max, which reflects physical fitness. Physical exercise, such as aerobic gymnastics, is an effective intervention to improve VO₂max in older adults. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of Don Dap Dape exercise and Physical Fitness Gymnastics in increasing VO₂max among the elderly in Banjar Kerta Bumi, East Denpasar. This research employed an experimental design with a two-group pre-test and post-test approach. A total of 20 elderly participants meeting the inclusion criteria were divided into two groups of 10. Group I performed Physical Fitness Gymnastics, while Group II performed Don Dap Dape gymnastics for four weeks. VO₂max was measured using the Six Minutes Walking Test, and the data were analyzed using the independent sample t-test. The results showed a significant increase in VO₂max in both groups; however, Group II (Don Dap Dape) showed a higher increase (31.23%) compared to Group I (22.21%), with a p-value of 0.032. These findings indicate that Don Dap Dape gymnastics is more effective in enhancing VO₂max in the elderly. This study recommends Don Dap Dape gymnastics as an alternative physical activity to improve physical fitness in older adults.Keywords: elderly, VO₂max, Don_Dap_Dape_exercise, physical_fitness, cardiorespiratory_endurance AbstrakPeningkatan populasi lansia berdampak pada meningkatnya risiko penurunan kapasitas fungsional, salah satunya VO2max yang mencerminkan kebugaran jasmani. Latihan fisik seperti senam dapat menjadi intervensi efektif untuk meningkatkan VO2max pada lansia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas senam Don Dap Dape dibandingkan Senam Kebugaran Jasmani dalam meningkatkan VO2max pada lansia di Banjar Kerta Bumi, Denpasar Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen dengan pendekatan two group pre-test and post-test. Sebanyak 20 responden lansia yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dibagi ke dalam dua kelompok, masing-masing 10 orang. Kelompok I mengikuti Senam Kebugaran Jasmani dan kelompok II mengikuti Senam Don Dap Dape selama empat minggu. Pengukuran VO2max dilakukan menggunakan Six Minutes Walking Test, dan analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua kelompok mengalami peningkatan VO2max secara signifikan, namun peningkatan pada kelompok Senam Don Dap Dape (31,23%) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok Senam Kebugaran Jasmani (22,21%), dengan nilai p = 0,032. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa Senam Don Dap Dape lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan VO2max pada lansia. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan Senam Don Dap Dape sebagai alternatif latihan fisik bagi lansia untuk meningkatkan kebugaran jasmani.Kata kunci: lansia, VO2max, senam_Don_Dap_Dape, senam_kebugaran, kebugaran_jasmani
