Abstract

Education to improve the understanding of financial literacy in MSMEs is one of the efforts that can be carried out to enrich their knowledge. This knowledge will be useful for their business, especially for sustainability of their business. This research was conducted at the Tempe Sanan Industrial Center, Malang using a qualitative method, that is interviews. The results of the study show that not all business actors have sufficient financial literacy, especially if it is related to the investment context. However, business actors are considered sufficient to have a good financial attitude but not for things such as: making budgets, monitoring cash flows, and planning business protection. This is because business actors are too busy with their business operations so they do not have enough time to do the things above..

Abstract

Seventy-one point five million (71,5 million or 26,4 percent) people in Indonesia are classified as Gen Z. Indonesia is the largest Muslim-majority country, with a significant portion of its population belonging to Gen Z. It is our concern to explore the potential of Muslim Gen Z. Furthermore, in the digital era, Muslim Gen Z’s investment decisions are increasingly influenced by social media where they can easily get various information. This study analyzes both the direct and indirect effects of social media, digital financial literacy, and investment decisions. We used a quantitative approach. Data were collected from 175 Gen Z investors through an online questionnaire and analyzed using path analysis with SEM-PLS. Our findings reveal that social media enhances digital financial literacy, which in turn positively affects investment decisions. Also, digital financial literacy enhances investment decisions among Muslim Gen Z. These results suggest that while social media can be a valuable resource for improving financial literacy, the reliability and depth of information from online communities may be insufficient for making informed investment decisions. Our study provides insights for investors to develop effective strategies and for policymakers to enhance financial education initiatives.

Abstract

Indonesia SMEs have contributed 61.97% to GDP or Rp. 8,573.89 trillion, and they can absorb almost 97% of the workforce. However, several problems arise and become limitations for SMEs, such as limited capital and limited marketing ability and weak business management capabilities. For capital limitations, it can be solved by applying for credit to external parties such as banks and venture capital, but SMEs must meet the bank requirements. For marketing limitations, it can be pursued by maximizing the ability of SMES actors in network competence and market orientation. Therefore, this research was conducted to examine the financial literacy, network competence, and market orientation to the financial performance of SMEs. We collected data by an online questionnaire on 197 SMEs in Bandung. We use SEM PLS to analyze the data. Our results indicated that financial literacy, network competence, and market orientation had a positive and significant impact on the SMEs financial performance. That means that the ability to understand financial concepts, the ability to establish good relationships or networks with external parties, and the ability to sense markets and customer relations help SMEs to implement their business strategies properly. So that they will have an impact on increasing financial performance.
