Abstract

This research is based on the rapid development of Sharia microfinance institutions that are not balanced with the professionalism of its management. The purpose of this research is to dig deeper into internal control conditions on Sharia microfinance institutions, to achieve these goals of research using qualitative methods with case study approaches. The data collection process is conducted through interviews, internal control report data collection, and FGD. The informant is the division of internal control and Operations manager at BMT X. The results showed that there are two business risks of Sharia microfinance institutions that are internal risks and external risks. The internal risks faced by Sharia microfinance institutions are human resources, institutional, and systems. External risks originating from outside the conditions of the Sharia microfinance institutions are financial technology developments and the level of outcomes that affect the capital of sharia financial institutions. Both of these risks can be minimized by optimizing internal control so that the trust to sharia microfinance institutions increases. The increased trust of stakeholders was able to restore the role of Sharia microfinance institutions as the spearhead of the lower-class community economy.

The research method used in this study is descriptive analysis method with a qualitative approach. The researcher performed a literature study to collect data from various sources that support the researcher’s chosen topic, i.e., all sharia fintech registered with OJK and licensed as of December 2020 associated with maqashid al-shariah. In general, Shariah fintech has fulfilled the principles of maqashid al-shariah. However, there are elements that need to be more strengthened. An example is the need for a governing regulation that separates Shariah fintech from conventional fintech regulation. This is because there are very different crucial elements and principles between these two types of fintech. As a suggestion for the development of Shariah fintech in the future, in addition to strengthening in terms of regulations, intense education related to Shariah fintech products is still needed to the wider community, especially to people who have great potential to become consumers but are not well-educated of new technologyes.

Abstract

This study constitutes a novel concept that provides a complete analysis of the holding business at an Islamic-based school (Pesantren) and the halal value chain. The halal value chain provides a standard for sharia-compliant production, distribution, or consumption activities. This case study was based in Pesantren Al-Rifa’ie, addressed in Malang East Java Indonesia. This study collected data through interviews, contract data, SOP, financial statements, BMT reports, and observation. The data were analyzed using the heuristic case study. The results showed that the holding business at Pesantren Al-Rifa'ie was in the form of a cooperative since it combines business units. The cooperative has funding, financing, and BMT activities. BMT is profit-oriented through establishing business units. Business units supporting the halal value chain were husbandry, bus rentals, and One Pesantren One Product (OPOP) starting from the input, process, and output. This research strengthens the New Institutional Theory and provides insight into the need for technical requirements to establish the company holding in Pesantren.

Abstract

Waste is the biggest problem on earth. Environmentalist organizations and local governments have socialized the environmental love movement on all fronts. It must also be supported by the first sector of waste producers, namely households. The method used in this community service is the 3R method: reduce, reuse, and recycle. The result of this service is to invite the household community to sort between organic and non-organic waste and then separate it at the time of disposal of the main waste at home. Next is to take advantage of still suitable waste and divert it to other use values. Furthermore, the last one is to recycle waste with practical value and a selling point. With this community service, it is hoped that it can reduce the volume of waste on earth and minimize the impact of waste on the environment.

Abstract

In this quantitative descriptive research study, we investigate the adoption of the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS) among economics students in the Malang region. Our particular focus centers on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. The research involves a sample of 120 economics students drawn from UIN Malang, Univ Brawijaya, and Univ Negeri Malang. Data collection is conducted through a questionnaire that examines four key variables: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. The findings underscore the significant influence of performance expectancy on the intention to use QRIS, while the remaining variables exhibit positive yet non-significant relationships. This study provides valuable insights into the pivotal role of performance expectancy in driving QRIS adoption among economics students and highlights its potential implications for fostering a sustainable economy in the Malang region.
