Abstract

Within Islamic perspective, the principle of mīzān (balance) serves as a crucial conceptual foundation for achieving sustainable development through a holistic approach that integrates ecological, social, and economic dimensions. This study aims to comprehensively explore the essence of mīzān while examining its implementation within sustainable development frameworks. Employing qualitative methodology, the research conducts document analysis of Qur’anic verses, exegetical literature (tafsīr), and relevant scholarly works on sustainable development. The findings reveal that mīzān encompasses principles of social justice, moderation, and humanity’s role as stewards (khalīfah) of the Earth in preserving ecological balance. The application of this concept provides both ethical guidance and practical solutions for addressing contemporary environmental and social challenges. However, persistent obstacles—including inadequate environmental awareness and weak inter-institutional collaboration—require deeper internalization of Islamic values. The implementation of mīzān offers a viable ethical framework and actionable approach to confronting current socio-environmental issues. This study contributes to the discourse on Islamic-based sustainable development by bridging theoretical principles with practical applications.

Abstract

A 360° virtual campus tour allows users to independently explore all available scenes in the form of 360° panoramic photos through a self-guided navigation feature. However, not all navigation tools provided are capable of generating route recommendations for users to follow. This presents a challenge, as users may feel overwhelmed when deciding where to begin and end the tour—particularly when the number of scenes reaches into the hundreds. In certain scenarios, prolonged interaction within a virtual reality environment may lead to discomfort due to motion sickness. Implementing a shortest path algorithm offers a potential solution by guiding users through recommended routes, thereby improving exploration efficiency and reducing interaction time. This study integrates a shortest path-based navigation feature into a virtual campus tour using Dijkstra’s algorithm, consisting of: (1) a front-end navigation component for the user interface of route searching, and (2) a back-end routing component that processes pathfinding using a graph-based structure. The implemented navigation feature demonstrates high efficiency, with an average execution time of only 4.94 ms and low memory consumption, as measured by a resident set size of 710.47 KB and used heap memory of 668.61 KB.

Abstract

Household waste management remains a significant environmental issue in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas. Limited treatment facilities and low public awareness have led most waste to be burned or disposed of without sorting, causing impacts on health and environmental quality. This study aimed to empower local residents through basic education on waste management using the ecovillage approach. The activities were conducted through participatory methods, including preliminary surveys, educational sessions, composting practices, interactive discussions, and evaluations. The results showed an improvement in community knowledge and skills in waste separation and household-scale composting. In addition, local initiatives emerged such as the formation of environmental cadres and waste banks as part of strengthening community institutions. These findings demonstrate that participatory education effectively drives behavioral change and supports the realization of environmentally sustainable villages.

Abstract

Pemuda Persis, as a part of the Islamic Union, faces the challenge of a demographic in spreading their dakwah. The main issue is the dynamics of member development and participation influenced by demographic, geographic, social, and psychological changes. The current priority for the management is to focus on comprehensive development to create quality cadres. They have created preaching content on YouTube and Instagram but have not effectively reached all members, as seen from the viewership on each platform. The goal of this Community Service Program (PkM) is to develop an Islamic study website as a platform for study and preaching content for Pemuda Persis Banjaran members and the general public. The PkM consists of seven stages: 1) Software needs analysis; 2) Software design; 3) Software development implementation; 4) Installation and testing of the software; 5) Socialization and training; 6) Assistance and evaluation; 7) Software launch. The result of this PkM is a website with a Content Management System (CMS) and a portal to display the dakwah content such as study programs, articles, and news. Three types of users are identified: admin, registered website members, and non-members. Admin can manage articles, new pages, menus, study programs, and study program categories. Additionally, Admin can also view dakwah content frequently accessed by members. Meanwhile, members can manage profiles and view specific member articles. Non-members can only view articles, study programs, and news. The level of user satisfaction with the application is measured using the System Usability Scale (SUS) survey.  The SUS score of 79.3 indicating that the generated website is effective, efficient, and satisfactory. Therefore, it can be concluded that this PkM has significantly contributed well to solving the partner's problem.

Abstract

The dissemination of job vacancies through online platforms still faces limitations in understanding the semantic relationships between the skills possessed by job seekers and the qualifications required by a job position. This mismatch results in an inefficient search process and longer search times. This study aims to develop a semantic-based job vacancy recommendation application (talent matching) using a skill ontology approach. One of the main challenges in developing the ontology is the lack of standardized data structures in job vacancy postings, particularly in the job description section. To address this issue, Named Entity Recognition (NER) techniques are applied to automatically extract skill entities from job description texts. The extracted results are then classified into a taxonomy structure using SkillsGPT, thereby forming a hierarchical skill concept model semantically represented within the ontology using Protégé. The matching process between user skills and job qualifications is conducted through semantic similarity calculations employing the Sánchez Similarity method. Job vacancy data are collected via web scraping, while system development follows the Rational Unified Process (RUP) methodology and is evaluated using Black Box testing. Evaluation results demonstrate that the developed system is capable of providing semantically relevant job vacancy recommendations according to the user's skill profile. Therefore, this study contributes both theoretically and practically to the development of ontology-based recommendation systems, particularly in the automated modeling of skill taxonomies from unstructured data.
