Abstract

Introduction & Aim: The level of children's health is related to health problems about infection factors. Health efforts are carried out in the form of promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative, in the form of Clean and Healthy Behavior (Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat, PHBS). The aim was to improve PHBS skills in children: Washing hands in 6 steps and sorting and disposing of waste properly. Implementation Method: The activity was held in January - February 2024 at PAUD Kuncup Melati RW 07, Kapasan, Simokerto, Surabaya for 33 pre-school age students. The initial survey has formulated problems and solutions in the form of efforts to prevent disease in early childhood with PHBS through health literacy using the train-playing method. Arranging permits, determining the location and target participants, socializing the original activities, and preparing the media. Method of Activity: There was a Health station which consisted of station 1: Hand Washing Movement and Song and the next station was to dispose of rubbish properly in the Hygiene Box. Evaluation has been done at the 4th meeting and at the same time rewards in the form of healthy, nutritious snacks. Results: Participation through play-based health literacy has been shown to increase young children's ability to participate in PHBS activities. namely washing their hands in 6 steps correctly, which initially 100% of students were not able to do correctly to 84.8% of students who were able to do it correctly. Discussion: Health Literacy using the play method can increase PAUD students' understanding and ability to carry out Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors, namely washing their hands in 6 steps correctly and being able to sort and dispose of waste in the correct place. PHBS that can be done early and continuously will become a good habit for children.

Abstract

Introduction & Aim: A School-age children need healthy nutrition or food to support their growth and development. Food provides energy and nutritional intake for school-age children. The reality at the activity location is that only 5 out of 50 students in grades I, II and III have breakfast and bring lunch to school. In reality, snacks or food available in the school environment are most in demand by school-age children. School children do not yet know the healthy food needed by the body. Snacks at school do not contain enough nutrition to meet the body's needs. For this reason, it is necessary to educate healthy snacks to gain knowledge about healthy snacks. The increasing problem of elementary school children's nutrition in urban areas, the Community Service (PKM) team collaborated with partners, namely the ISCO Foundation Simokerto Work Unit to conduct elementary school children's nutritional literacy through educational games. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge of school-age children to consume healthy foods. Method of Activity: The implementation method used is the joyful learning concept starting with an initial lecture, discussion and practice of making healthy food in the form of fruit salad. Results: The results of the implementation of the activity are that school-age children are very enthusiastic and interactive in participating in the activity and there is an increase in knowledge is good 88% (22 respondents), positive attitudes is 96% (24 respondents) and actions is 84% (21 respondents) in choosing healthy nutritious snacks. Discussion: this activity is able to provide knowledge, attitudes and actions about healthy snacks and change the behavior of school-age children from an early age to choose and consume healthy snacks and foods.

Abstract

Introduction & Aim One of the ways to protect yourself from viruses and bacteria is by maintaining personal hygiene. The problem of personal hygiene that sometimes women do not pay attention to is cleanliness in the feminine area. The feminine area is often in humid conditions. Hence, it becomes a breeding ground for viruses and fungi that can cause infections, one of which is vaginal discharge or flour albus. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide health education through the PEKA Program (Women's Hygiene Education Program) and the making of traditional drinks. Method of Activity: This activity was carried out in the RW 05 area of Kapasan Village, with a target of 22 women. The activity steps are preparing booklets, coordinating with residents, providing pre-test questionnaires followed by providing education, and post-tests and demonstrations of hand washing, correct ways of cebok, and making traditional drinks. Results: The results of Wilcoxon's statistical test on the knowledge of women of childbearing age were p= 0.00 while the attitude used the Paired Sample t-test statistical test, which was a value of p=0.00. Discussion: The increase in knowledge will make a person change behavior in a positive direction. Keywords: Women, Personal Hygiene, Education, Attitude
