Abstract

This article examines the relevance of the thought of Ibn Taimiyyah to the contemporary political landscape of Indonesia during the tenure of President Joko Widodo. Ibn Taimiyyah, a prominent Islamic scholar and philosopher, is known for his extensive works on Islamic jurisprudence, governance, and political theory. This research is important and interesting because Indonesia is a country with a Muslim majority, where the country's political system will be linked with an Islamic perspective. The method used in writing is a qualitative description method with data collection techniques through search engines, namely Google Scholar and Harzing Publish or Perish to obtain literature sources relevant to the research article. The data analysis technique used to be classified based on keyword searches to get the results of a number of journals, documents, and articles related to the topic of the article. The author finds that Ibn Taimiyyah's ideas are relevant to the Indonesian political system during the reign of President Joko Widodo to be analyzed, namely the first, related to the leadership of President Joko Widodo in leading the Indonesian state. Second, related to public services provided by President Joko Widodo for Indonesian citizens. The findings shed light on the ways in which Ibn Taimiyyah's ideas can inform contemporary debates surrounding governance, leadership, and state-society relations in Indonesia. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the intellectual heritage of Islamic political thought and its implications for modern governance systems, particularly within the Indonesian context.

Abstract

This article discusses the political conditions, and the process of democratization in Sudan after the end of Islamic rule. As a predominantly Muslim country, Sudan has long had an Islamic government and sharia-based laws. However, after President Omar Bashir stepped down, in 2020 the Sudanese transitional government decided to end the system of government under Islamic law and promised freedom or democracy for the people of Sudan. This is then interesting to discuss and this article aims to find out the condition of Sudan after the end of Islamic rule, and to analyze whether the process of democratization by the transitional government of Sudan was successful. The author uses a descriptive method, with a democracy and democratization approach. Data is collected through Google Scholar, the Freedom House Website, and several other sources. then the data is analyzed by comparing the index of freedom in the State of Sudan in 2022 with 2019 after the revolution or the end of the authoritarian government of President Omar Bashir. The author finds that the process of democratization in Sudan after the end of the Islamic government or Bashir's authoritarian government has not been successful. Sudan has indeed experienced several democratization processes, but democracy in Sudan has not yet been consolidated. This is due to a number of reasons, such as the coup d'etat and the domination of the Sudanese military, the transitional government that is not transparent, people's rights that have not been fulfilled, and there is still a very severe economic crisis.

Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses the collaboration model between the government and pesantren in dealing with the issue of terrorism in Indonesia. This topic is important because terrorism has become a complex issue, and the solution requires good collaboration from all groups, both government and non-government. Therefore, the authors conducted qualitative research using in-depth interviews, literature reviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) as data collection methods. The informants and participants were the representatives of the government officers and the leaders of pesantren with various backgrounds. The data collected were analyzed using Nvivo 12 plus. The authors found that the government and pesantren had collaborated to face the issue of terrorism, but these efforts were not optimal because there were still several challenges. Thus, it is necessary to develop a model of job sharing to develop the preceding collaboration. Keywords: model, collaboration, government, pesantren, terrorism, Indonesia

Abstract

Eventhough there are overlapping and intersection in defining the concept of Human Rights, Islam and Western have serious debates on it. The debates started from the different sources of human rights. Islam put the revelation as the foundation of its rule and Western mostly depend on the individual freedom. In term of its implementation, Western critizes Islam as the ideology as well as actor behind the violation of human rights. In its point of views, Islam distinguishes the rights of the people based on the concepts of Islamic state, gender inequality, and various kinds of inhumane shariah law. On the other hand, Islam argues that Islam has more complete and advance concept of human rights than the Western since Western does not concern on the social rights of people. Even if the concept is analyzed based on the Islamic values and history, it would be clear that Islam promote human rights seriously. For some of controversial issues in Islamic shariah such as qishos, amputation and inheritance, Islam assures that they have many benefits for the common rights of the people.

Abstract

Purpose : A case study is required in a region that has ambitious energy transition targets, faces the dilemma between economic development and environmental sustainability, and possesses a traditional governance system that interacts with a modern partnership framework. Design/methodology/approach : his research uses a qualitative approach with a document analysis method. Data was collected from official government documents, partner organization cooperation reports, and supporting scholarly articles. Findings : The findings show that the Program allocated IDR 12.5 billion from the provincial budget (APBD), while IDR 2.24 billion was allocated for Penglipuran from the Regency budget (APBD), village funds, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This funding resulted in rooftop solar power plants (PLTS) and communal biodigesters, leading to emission reductions. Practical Implication : his research recommends five policies for local governments in the energy transition: first, institutionalizing commitment through local regulations; second, hybrid financing; third, institutional capacity development; fourth, targeted subsidies; and fifth, sustained political support. Originality/value : The critical findings illustrate that collaborative governance is effective for incremental innovation (technology adoption, procedural improvements) but weak in driving structural transformation (power redistribution, institutional change).

Abstract

Wearable technology is an emerging innovation in the digital era that refers to electronic sensor devices commonly used in daily life to support health monitoring and lifestyle management. This study examines the role of wearable technology in enhancing public health and promoting a healthier lifestyle in South Korean society. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research analyzes secondary data from previous studies and user experiences with wearable devices, including smartwatches, smart bands, and fitness trackers. The findings show that wearable technology significantly increases health awareness through continuous monitoring and feedback, particularly in physical activity, sleep quality, and stress management. This study contributes to existing literature by conceptualizing wearable technology not merely as an individual health tool, but as a strategic digital health instrument embedded within South Korea’s technological infrastructure and public health ecosystem. Overall, wearable technology demonstrates strong potential in supporting preventive healthcare and sustainable public well-being.
