Abstract

FIFA (the Federation Internationale de Football Association) withdrew Indonesia from hosting the World Cup U-20 2023. This cancellation caused many peoples to be disappointed. Indonesian national team supporters expressed disappointment in Ganjar Pranowo's Instagram comments because of his stance and statement regarding his refusal of the Israeli national team to compete in Indonesia. This research explores the behavior of Indonesian football fans on Instagram using the SIDE model. This research uses netnography or virtual ethnography because this research focuses on activities in cyberspace. In cyberspace, there is a term called cyberculture. The flaming practice was not come up from a heated debate, but the flaming comments have been keen since users visited Ganjar Pranowo's Instagram account, not creating a space for discussion. Excessive fanaticism or lack of self-control sometimes makes users become actors in flaming production. In addition, anonymity is also a factor in deindividuation occurs. Flaming behavior was found when the apparent norm of previous commenters was being flamed. This research focuses more on the process of user deindividuation using the SIDE model; since this research was conducted in cyberspace, further research can be conducted offline to investigate this behavior.

Abstract

User education refers to the dissemination of knowledge carried out by libraries to their users. This knowledge includes how to develop skills in utilizing library facilities, how to use available services, and other relevant information that can assist users during their visit to the library. This study aims to suggest effective methods for librarians and library staff to disseminate user education information so that it can be directly implemented. Additionally, the study describes how users obtain information related to user education in order to identify their information-seeking behavior. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through interviews with librarians, library staff, and visitors, as well as observations at Perpustakaan Kota Bogor. The results of this study indicate that user information-seeking behavior is passive and dependent on officers, even though information related to user education is available. The irregularity of information and weak direction make it difficult for users to navigate services independently. Therefore, a more comprehensive and sustainable education strategy is needed so that users can search for information more optimally

Abstract

This study employs a qualitative approach using the framing analysis model developed by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. The model consists of four framing devices: syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures, which are used to examine how media construct reality through news organization, sentence structure, language use, and lexical choices. The object of this research is news coverage published by Kompas.com regarding public protests in Pati demanding the removal of the Regent. The findings reveal that law enforcement officials were the most dominant sources, appearing in 15 articles or 54% of the total news analyzed. Government sources were cited in 7 articles (25%), while protesters’ voices appeared in only 4 articles (14%). Civilian victims were the least represented, appearing in just 2 articles (7%). This imbalance indicates that the news narratives were primarily constructed from the perspective of official authorities rather than from protesters or affected citizens. Based on these findings, the study concludes that Kompas.com predominantly framed the Pati protests through a security and state stability perspective.
