Abstract

This study aimed to determine sperm abnormality and MDA level in Muscovy duck semen in different dilution and storage at 27oC. This study was used in the level of dilution of glutinous semen with a long time store differently at 27oC. In this study, the parameters of the mass motility of spermatozoa were used individual motility, spermatozoa abnormalities, and activity test. A Muscovy duck, healthy and have a high libido were used then divided into treatment groups i.e. (A0) 0; (A1) 5 times; (A2) 10 times; and (A3) 15 times, the second factor as a subplot was the storage time (BO) 0; (B1) 60 minutes; (B2) 120 minutes; and (B3) 180 minutes stored at 27oC with 3 replications. In results, this study was reported abnormalities at a dilution rate in A1 group of 5 times with a shelf life in B1 group of 60 minutes and in B2 group of 120 minutes.

Abstract

Telur dapat ditingkatkan nilai gizinya dengan menjadikannya telur omega-3 yang kaya gizi dan baik dikonsumsi oleh segala rentang usia. Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan, Perlindungan Anak, Pengendalian Penduduk dan Keluarga Berencana atau disingkat DP3KB mempunyai tugas salah satunya adalah pemberdayaan perempuan dan keluarga berencana. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini memberi pelatihan pembuatan pakan layer telur omega-3 sebagai upaya peningkatan asupan gizi keluarga dan pendapatan usaha di Kabupaten Jember. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan melalui 5 tahapan, yakni persiapan dan koordinasi, sosialisasi, pelatihan pembuatan pakan layer, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Pada pelatihan ini pembuatan pakan layer dilakukan dengan menambahkan minyak ikan sebagai salah satu sumber omega-3 pada pakan ayam layer. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan antusiasme peserta pelatihan mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan hingga selesai dan berhasil membuat pelet pakan layer telur omega-3 dengan benar. Hasil pengabdian ini akan dibagikan kepada kelompok binaan peternak perempuan untuk meningkatkan nilai jual telur dan sebagai pemenuh asupan gizi keluarga.

Abstract

The activity aims to explore rural potential in developing sustainable agribusiness by considering natural resources and human resources as one of the strategic ways to improve a sustainable rural economy. The various potentials possessed by villages are understood to be one option for strengthening the rural economy in a sustainable manner by actively involving community components that will bring about the impact of change. The chosen approach is a mixed method participatory approach. The findings were known to participants of the potential analysis training activity in Joho Village, Semen District: 1) the participants' initial knowledge (pretest) about the village's economic potential and opportunities was still low, showing an increase in score of 28.8 after taking part in the socialization, 2) after receiving knowledge of business opportunities (agribusiness integration) the participants motivated to determine the village's potential economic efforts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of hatching egg weight on the hatching power and DOD (Day Old Duck) weight of Hybrid Ducks and to determine the hatching egg weight that has the best hatching power and also the most optimal DOD weight. The potential need for duck meat that still cannot act as a mainstay animal food source is caused by the relatively low productivity in Indonesia. Hybrid ducks are ducks that are a cross between Peking and Khaki Campbell ducks. The DOD weight produced determines the quality of the hybrid ducklings to be cultivated. This research was conducted at CV. Anugerah Mulia Farm, Ngledok Hamlet, Mojokrapak Village, Tembelang District, Jombang Regency from June to November 2024. The object of this study used 90 Hybrid Duck hatching eggs. This study used the RAL (Complete Randomized Design) method with 3 treatments and 6 replications. Each treatment used 5 hatching eggs. The parameters taken in this study were the hatching power and DOD weight of Hybrid Ducks. The results of the data obtained were analyzed using the IBM SPSS version 26 application with Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results obtained from this study showed that egg weight had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the hatchability of Hybrid Ducks by 90% (P1) and the highest DOD weight at P1 was 50.48 grams.

Abstract

Teknik pascapanen dan penyimpanan sangat mempengaruhi kualitas susu sapi. Kesalahan dalam penanganan pasca panen dan penyimpanan dan menyebabkan berubanya (menurun) kualitas susu yang dihasilkan peternak, sehingga pendapatan juga kurang maksimal. Keterbatasan pengetahuan dan teknologi sering kali mempengaruhi kualitas susu segar, sehingga diperlukan intervensi berupa edukasi dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat tentang teknik penyimpanan dan pengolahan susu yang dimungkinkan dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat sekaligus mendukung pengembangan industri persusuan di daerah tersebut. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui wawasan dan keterampilan peternak sapi perah dalam penanganan pasca panen dan penyimpanan susu segar.  Metode kegiatan mengunakan pembelajaran orang dewasa (andragogi), Teknik pengukuran dilakukan dengan pre-test, pemaparan materi dan post-test. Kegiatan dilakukan bulan Oktober - November 2024 dengan subjek adalah anggota Kelompok Ternak Sapi Perah “Sumber Mulyo” Desa Jugo Kecamatan Mojo sebanyak 50 orang. Hasil menujukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan tentang teknik penanganan pasca panen dan penyimpanan susu segar dengan indicator nilai post-test rerata skor 85 kategori baik dibandingkan dengan nilai pre-test skor rerata 63 kategori cukup. Simpulan bahwa pelatihan yang diberikan berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peternak dan diharapkan berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas susu serta peningkatan nilai ekonomi peternak.

Abstract

Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) is a liquid textured fertilizer resulting from the fermentation of various organic materials. Making and applying LOF is relatively easy, it is needed in small quantities and the high nutrient content is quickly utilized by plants. This activity aims to provide training in making POC to the Sepawon Village Farmers Group, Plosoklaten District, Kediri Regency to increase agricultural and plantation productivity, alternative to the scarcity of synthetic fertilizers, and utilization of surrounding waste. The method used by the Participatory Rural Approach (PRA) is education of knowledge to the community through training, practice and mentoring. Ingredients for making 1 kg beef rumen POC, 1 L coconut water, 1 L rice washing water, 1 L rabbit urine, 1 kg banana peel, and molasses. The materials for making POC can be adapted to agricultural, plantation and livestock waste in Sepawon Village, so it can increase the economic value of Farmer Groups.

Abstract

The application of Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) has been widely used and is increasingly popular among people plant lover and farmer. LOF materials are easy to find and use more efficiently. The implementation of empowering the Selobanteng Farmers Group in making POC is an effort to utilize the potential of the surrounding environment in the form of agricultural waste (waste originating from farmers and breeders). This activity was carried out in Selobanteng Village, Banyuglugur District, Situbondo Regency. The method used in this activity is providing material and practice. The material delivered is the difference in liquid and solid organic fertilizer, also various kinds of solid organic fertilizer.Practice making POC using 5 liters of cow urine, 5 liters of rabbit urine, 125 ml molasses and 1.5 ml kefir whey. Making POC provides benefits, namely increasing residents' knowledge about the benefits of agricultural waste materials, increasing awareness of environmental health and providing economic value for residents, because it reduces spending on purchasing fertilizer for farmers and can increase income from sales.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to provide socialization and training on ruminant livestock health to the Kopi Manis Livestock Group in Papar Village, Papar District, Kediri Regency. It is expected that after the socialization and training on livestock health, all members of the Kopi Manis Livestock Group will increase their insight, knowledge, and actions to handle cases of disease in ruminant livestock. This community service activity was carried out using the Participatory Rural Approach (PRA) method, which is a method of educating knowledge and insight to the community or community groups through training, practice, and mentoring. In this PRA method, it was chosen because this PRA method has advantages including the active involvement of community members or groups, in this case the Kopi Manis Livestock Group as the subject. In this socialization and training activity, it was filled with an explanation of various ways to handle ruminant livestock health and how to prevent and treat the types of diseases that usually attack ruminant livestock. As we know, cases of FMD (Foot and Mouth Disease) have caused many problems and great losses for livestock farmers. Also included in this case, when the FMD case broke out, many cattle and goat farmers in the Papar Village area, Papar District, Kediri Regency, experienced paralysis and death in their livestock. Such conditions are certainly very detrimental to farmers. In response to the conditions and problems after the FMD case in Papar Village, Papar District, Kediri Regency, a solution is needed to anticipate the occurrence of FMD cases not recurring or spreading again in the Papar area, so socialization and training are needed on disease prevention and health care for ruminant livestock. It is hoped that with the socialization and training on livestock health, it can provide provisions and knowledge for farmers who are especially members of the Sweet Coffee Livestock Group.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine the characteristics and behavior of beef cattle farmers in Badas Subdistrict, Kediri Regency, based on demographic factors. The research was conducted in the Badas Subdistrict area. This study utilized a qualitative descriptive approach using survey methods. The variables investigated were the characteristics and behavior of beef cattle farmers based on demographics, including gender, age, years of farming experience, education level, primary occupation, number of family dependents, livestock ownership, livestock ownership status, animal feed, timing of cattle sales, and location of cattle sales. The findings revealed that in Badas Subdistrict, Kediri Regency, all cattle farmers were male (100%). Most farmers were aged 46–55 years (57.76%), and 38.09% had more than 10 years of farming experience. The majority had completed junior or senior high school. The main occupation of 69.04% of farmers was farming. Most farmers had 1–2 dependents (50%) and owned more than 3 cattle. Livestock ownership was predominantly personal (64.28%). All farmers used agricultural waste as animal feed. Cattle were sold based on urgent needs, and 61.90% of farmers sold their cattle through intermediaries (blantik).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan fermentasi eceng gondok dalam ransum terhadap performa entok fase grower. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan, yaitu P0 (100% pakan pabrik), P1 (20% eceng gondok fermentasi + 80% pakan pabrik), P2 (30% eceng gondok fermentasi + 70% pakan pabrik), dan P3 (40% eceng gondok fermentasi + 60% pakan pabrik). Parameter yang diamati meliputi konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi ransum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum. Perlakuan terbaik diperoleh pada P3 dengan nilai konversi ransum terendah (36,06 ± 1,10), yang menunjukkan efisiensi penggunaan pakan lebih baik dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya.
