Abstract

The technology of mobile phones (MP) has made fast advances. Cellular phone addiction has been discussed widely. Many researchers explored the causes of cellular phone addiction. The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the possible factors causing mobile phone addiction. Data was gathered through literature studies. Results show four factors causing mobile phone addiction; namely internal and external factors, social, and situational factor. Results of the study were discussed further. Teknologi telepon genggam mengalami kemajuan yang sangat pesat. Kecanduan telepon genggam telah didiskusikan secara luas tahun-tahun terakhir. Banyak penelitian mengeksplorasi penyebab kecanduan telepon genggam. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi literatur dan survey interviews pada 30 responden yang mengalami kecanduan telepon genggam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 4 faktor penyebab kecanduan telepon genggam yaitu faktor internal, eksternal, sosial, dan situasional. Hasil penelitian didiskusikan lebih lanjut.

Abstract

A harmonious marriage requires cooperation and commitment between a husband and a wife in dealing with domestic affairs. Both a husband and a wife, who have been committed to a mar- riage, should participate in domestic work. A husband who gets involved in domestic work is driven by various factors. The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that encourage hus- band involvement in the domestic work. Data were obtained from 148 male respondents (23-40 years old) using interview and questionnaire. The respondents have been married and involved in domestic work. The result shows that there are six major factors that encourage husband in- volvement in domestic work. Pernikahan yang harmonis membutuhkan kerjasama dan komitmen suami istri dalam men- gurus rumah tangga. Laki-laki dan perempuan dalam rumah tangga, keduanya haruslah ikut serta dalam kerja domestik rumah tangga. Laki-laki yang mau terlibat dalam kerja domestik rumah tangga didorong oleh berbagai faktor. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengeksplorasi faktor-faktor yang mendorong keterlibatan laki-laki dalam kerja domestik rumah tangga. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, pembagian skala kepada 148 responden penelitian (23- 40 tahun) yang telah berkeluarga dan terlibat dalam kerja domestik rumah tangga. Hasil pe- nelitian mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat enam faktor besar yang mendorong laki-laki terli- bat dalam kerja domestik keluarga.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the problem of workplace bullying, the intensity, and its causing factors. This exploratory descriptive study was conducted through a survey of 123 participants working in Surabaya who experienced workplace bullying. The ques- tionnaire used to measure the intensity of the workplace bullying was an adaptation of Negative Act Questionnaire Revised (Matthiesen, 2000). The description, the intensity, and the causing factors of workplace bullying are discussed. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan masalah pembulian di tempat kerja (PTK= workplace bullying), intensitas PTK yang terjadi, dan faktor penyebab terjadinya PTK. Studi deskriptif eksploratif ini dilakukan dengan cara survei pada 123 partisipan yang bekerja di Surabaya dan mengalami PTK. Angket untuk mengukur intensitas PTK me- rupakan adaptasi angket Negative Act Questionnaire Revised (Matthiesen, 2000). Didiskusikan hasil penelitian tentang deskripsi, intensitas, dan faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya PTK.

Abstract

This research was inspired by a sufferer of blood phobia, who needed a psychological help. The subject was a female sufferer. Method used is a combination of a qualitative approach and mul- tiple baseline design across behaviors-materials-examiners. Data were collected through interview, observation, phobia self-test, and the big five personality inventory. Subject was treated with cogni- tive behavior therapy. Result reveals an alteration between baseline phase and treatment phase, thus it can be concluded that the cognitive behavior therapy is appropriate for this blood phobia disorder pa- tient. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi seorang penderita fobia darah yang membutuhkan bantuan penanganan. Metode penelitian merupakan kombinasi antara kualitatif dan multiple baseline design across behaviors-materials-examiners. Subjek penelitian satu orang (perempuan). Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, phobia self-test, dan the big five personality inventory. Bentuk intervensi adalah terapi kognitif perilaku. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan antara baseline phase dengan treatment phase, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terapi kognitif perilaku cukup efektif dalam membantu mengatasi fobia darah yang dialami subjek.

Abstract

This study was inspired by two reasons. Firstly after observing someone who suffers nyctophobia and needs therapy, and secondly after literature search, the author did not find an explisit empirical research on the dynamics of nyctophobia. The aim of this study was to conduct a research which could understand and describe the dynamics of nyctophobia. This research adopted a qualitative approach with a participatory paradigm. The main method of the data collection was an interview, supported with the observation data, pre-data questionnaire, the big five personality, as well as the symptom scale and the control. The research informan were three nyctophobia sufferers. The dynamics of the disorder are discussed. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh dua hal. Pertama berdasarkan hasil observasi peneliti terhadap seorang penderita nyctophobia yang membutuhkan adanya bantuan penanganan. Kedua berdasarkan studi literatur, peneliti belum menemukan penelitian mengenai dinamika gangguan penderita nyctophobia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan dan memahami dinamika gangguan penderita nyctophobia. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan paradigma participatory. Metode pengumpulan data utama menggunakan wawancara yang didukung dengan data observasi, angket data awal, the big five personality, serta skala simtom dan kontrol. Informan penelitian berjumlah tiga orang yang menyandang nyctophobia. Disiskusikan dinamika gangguan nyctophobia.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find an alternative method to enhance the efficiency of memorizing through emphasizing the auditory and visual stimuli as the most common used media in the education process. Subjects were 25 psychology students, who were conducting a simple memory task, consisting five stimuli, each was a combination of visual, auditory, and audiovisual elements. A special colour variation was used as information cue in the visual stimulus. A one way ANOVA reveals that a pure bimodal stimulus had a more efficient affect towards memory compared to a pure unimodal stimulus. Adding variations in the background colour could enhance memory efficiency as to equal bimodal stimuli, but variations in bimodal stimuli could not enhance the memory efficiency compared to pure bimodal stimuli. No significant differences were found in memory efficiency in each study modality type. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari alternatif mengefisienkan proses pembentukan memori dengan lebih berfokus pada penggunaan stimulus auditori dan stimulus visual sebagai media yang paling sering digunakan dalam edukasi. Subjek penelitian adalah 25 mahasiswa sebuah fakultas psikologi yang diminta untuk mengerjakan tugas mengingat sederhana dengan menggunakan lima stimulus yang masing-masing merupakan kombinasi unsur visual, auditori, dan audiovisual. Khusus untuk visual digunakan variasi warna sebagai cue informasi. Melalui analisis varian satu jalur ditemukan stimulus bimodal murni memiliki pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap efisiensi memori dibandingkan dengan unimodal stimulus yang murni. Pemberian variasi berupa warna latar teks yang berbeda pada unimodal stimulus visual mampu meningkatkan efisiensi memori sehingga setara dengan bimodal stimulus, namun pemberian variasi pada bimodal stimulus tidak mampu membuat efisiensi memori yang dihasilkannya menjadi lebih baik dibandingkan dengan bimodal stimulus murni. Tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam hal efisiensi memori pada tiap-tiap tipe modalitas belajar.
