Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji fenomena pertukaran kecantikan dan status sosial dalam konteks istilah "trophy wife", dengan fokus pada analisis semiotika terhadap unggahan YouTube dari podcast "Sobat Konglo". Istilah "trophy wife" merupakan istilah untuk istri yang dipandang sebagai simbol status sosial dan keberhasilan pria, sering kali dikaitkan dengan kecantikan fisik yang menarik. Melalui pendekatan semiotika, penelitian ini akan menganalisis bagaimana konsep kecantikan dan status sosial direpresentasikan dan dikonstruksi dalam media digital seperti podcast, serta berusaha menjabarkan bagaimana kecantikan dapat ditukarkan dengan sebuah status sosial melalui pernikahan. Selain itu terdapat pergeseran makna terhadap istilah “trophy wife” yang bukan lagi hanya sebuah pertukaran sosial dalam pernikahan lebih dari pada itu trophy wife harus merepresentasikan seorang istri yang sempurna.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi tanda-tanda (signs) yang digunakan dalam presentasi "trophy wife" dalam podcast tersebut, termasuk dalam percakapan, narasi, dan visualisasi yang disajikan. Hasil dari penelitian ini juga menunjukan bagaimana konstruksi sosial dan norma-norma gender tercermin dalam representasi "trophy wife" yang dipresentasikan di media sosial, serta dampaknya terhadap persepsi masyarakat terhadap peran dan nilai perempuan dalam hubungan dan kehidupan sosial secara lebih luas. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini tidak hanya memberikan wawasan mendalam terhadap fenomena "trophy wife" dalam konteks lokal, tetapi juga menawarkan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman kita tentang bagaimana media sosial mereproduksi dan mempengaruhi konstruksi sosial tentang kecantikan, status, dan gender.

Abstract

The upper-class dominates various social spaces in society, including children’s stories. Children’s stories as a means of socializing values also participate in socializing upper-class habitus in the storyline. This study aims to describe the children’s habitus as narrated in short stories published in Bobo magazine. The method used in this study is the quantitative content analysis method and critical discourse analysis. This study’s object is about 174 short stories published in Bobo magazine from January 2019 to August 2020, of which 110 stories were taken randomly as samples. The results show that most of the children’s habitus narrated in the stories were upper-class children’s habitus, reaching out to 87 or 79.1% of all stories. Meanwhile, lower-class children’s habitus was found in 30.9% of all stories. The habitus of upper-class children featured in the story consisting of go on an excursion, luxury living, own electronic goods, own expensive good, wearing nightgowns, reading, and writing. On the other side, the habitus of lower-class children habitus featured in the story consisting of playing traditional games, living in poverty, and doing lower-class work. In conclusion, the upper-class children’s habitus appears more dominantly within short stories in Bobo magazine. This study’s results are expected as recommend to parties related to children’s stories publication to present more balanced stories.

Abstract

Tolerance and harmony between religious communities in Klinting Village are the main points discussed in this article. Klinting Village is an example of how tolerance between religious communities should be implemented. In the midst of the decreasing level of tolerance in Indonesia as a multicultural country, social harmony in Klinting Village can be an example of multicultural society to avoid unwanted disputes in the future due to differences. The research method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques use in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The technique for determining informants used purposive sampling with a total of six informants. The results of the research show that tolerance between followers of Islam and Hinduism and other religions in Klinting Village is still going well, giving rise to harmony between community members. All elements of society play an important role in maintaining the values of tolerance in Klinting Village so that conflicts do not easily occur which can later develop into prolonged conflicts. All religious communities, both Muslims and Hindus and other religions, continue to maintain tolerance and peace between each other so that social harmony in Klinting Village is maintained to this day

Abstract

Kukuh Haryanto merupakan calon legislatif (caleg) yang unik dan menarik pada kontestasi Pemilu Legislatif 2024. Berbeda dari caleg lainnya yang harus mengeluarkan dana kampanye hingga ratusan juta, bahkan milyaran rupiah, dia hanya mengeluarkan modal yang sangat kecil. Kukuh yang berprofesi sebagai pengamen jalanan, berhasil menarik banyak perhatian masyarakat melalui kampanye yang dilakukannya dengan menggunakan media sosial miliknya, yaitu akun TikTok @kukuhporso. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap strategi kampanye caleg Kukuh Haryanto pada salah satu konten akun TikTok-nya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure. Prosedur penelitian ini diawali dengan menonton salah satu video TikTok @kukuhporso, mengidentifikasi tanda dan lirik dalam video, mengambil tangkapan layar, menganalisis tanda, dan menyajikan hasil analisis dalam bentuk deskripsi Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Kukuh berhasil memperoleh suara terbanyak di daerah pemilihannya melalui strategi kampanye yang dia gunakan. Kukuh berhasil membangun makna yang mendalam sebagai seorang caleg melalui simbol-simbol dan personal branding yang ia bangun selama kampanye. Keberhasilan Kukuh dapat menjadi referensi bagi perkembangan kampanye politik secara digital di Indonesia.

Abstract

This article tells the journey of a broken home child from a different side, namely from Dewi's success in education, while this point of view has not been studied by previous research. This research uses qualitative life history method. Data collection methods are in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. This research was analyzed using the interactive analysis method. There are four important points in interactive analysis, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study found that Dewi as a broken home child has experienced resilience from the bad circumstances she faced. There are several things that make Dewi able to face these conditions, including the desire to rise from within and the awareness that she must study hard. The results of this study also found that there are several motivations for Dewi to rise and achieve, namely the desire to raise the status of her family, the desire to fight stereotypes about broken home children, and the desire to have a harmonious family in the future.
