Abstract

Digital Transformation is now the center of public attention because digital aspects have entered all levels of society, one of which is school students. The use of digital transformation that is not on target will result in misuse of technology and have a negative impact on the person's personal self to others around him. Based on the results of field observations, it is still found that millennials do not pay attention to the considerable impact of digital transformation in their daily lives. Millennials experience the greatest impact, such as not understanding digital literacy but have become actors and users of digital media, resulting in misuse of functions that can even have an impact on criminal and civil acts. This activity was carried out in December 2022 - February 2023. This School Target Development service activity was carried out at SMK Swasta Kolese Tiara Bangsa by providing material on (1). Digital Literacy, (2). Human Interaction with Computers, (3). Interactive Media Design. The results of this activity include (1). Students of SMK Kolese experienced an increased understanding of the importance of digital literacy and communication ethics in social media in the context of human interaction with computers, as well as understanding the basic skills of creative media design, (2). Students of SMK Kolese Tiara Bangsa still need to get technological development literacy to face digital transformation such as how to use ergonomic gadgets so that they still pay attention to health and how to utilize technological sophistication to be able to produce interactive design works such as games, learning media and others. Abstract

This research focuses on the implementation of PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur when it builds strong relationships with its public through open communication. Public trust and transparency are crucial in overcoming the consequences of the explosion at Factory 5 of PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur. These attract media attention because of their significant impact on its factory operations. The research method used in this study is a qualitative case study. It collected data through 3 (three) stages: observation, interviews, and literature study. In this research, the data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification stages are the three steps to assist the authors in the data analysis. The research results show that PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur has applied principles of Excellence Public Relations Theory by prioritizing transparency, trust, and open communication to maintain its reputation and relationships with the public. It responded quickly, provided a transparent written response regarding the incident, and actively monitored the dynamics of public opinion. PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur's steps include stakeholder involvement, collaboration in designing PR programs, and effective online reputation management. Evaluation of these steps shows its awareness of the importance of continuous learning and adaptation to maintain its reputation and image. Therefore, PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur's transparent, open communication approach reflects its commitment to achieving PR principles effectively in facing the challenges they are encountering.

Abstract

This study is aimed to determine the impact of online media users of a cyberbullying behavior on yusi fadila's youtube channel. This research used the quantitative method with Spiral of Silence theory to examine from the media mass side and General Aggression Model (GAM) theory to examine from cyberbullying perpetrators side. The sampling technique using the simple random sampling. The result of this study show that the users of online media can affect the result of cyberbullying behavior on youtube especially on yusi fadila's youtube channel. Abstract

The development of tourism in the world is growing rapidly, so too in Indonesia, especially in the city of Batam, but when talking about the world of tourism that comes to mind is how to introduce our tourism to all corners of the world by using technological developments. one of them is social media by using travel blogger. Object of this research is to find out the strategy of using blogger travel media onlind in promoting natural tourism in the city of Batam by using social media. This research uses descriptive qualitative method using the Spradley analysis model, where the spradley data analysis style is departing from extensive research then focusing and going out again. This research uses 2 data. Primary and secondary data that researchers conducted were in-depth interviews, documentation, non-participant observation and articles from the internet. The results of the study showed that the strategy of utilizing online media in promoting tourism in the city of Batam by using content either via youtube, instagram or blog was supported by the intensity of media use. itself and the routine of the travel bloggers . Abstract

This study discusses "The Effect of Public Service Advertisements on Student Attitudes in the City of Batam Regarding Hoax Information on Social Media (Study on TransTV Hoax News Opponent Ads). This research was conducted with the aim to examine the effect of public service advertising on attitudes. The sampling technique uses Simple Random sampling. Data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires. Based on the testing of the instrument it can be stated that all the questions used are valid (r count> 0.099) and reliable (Alpha> 0.6). The results of the value of the coefficient of determination is 0.297 which means that 29.7% of the variation in changes that occur in the attitude of Batam City students regarding hoax information on social media. While the remaining 70.3% is influenced by other variables not included in the research model. The results of the t test show, t count (12,887) ˃ t table (1,966) with a significance value of 0,000 <0,05. It can be concluded that public service ads have a positive and significant effect on the attitude of Batam City students regarding hoax information on social media (studies on adverts against TransTV hoax news).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the communication process of behavior change that occurred in Batam kpopers adolescents and the role of the media in the communication process related to imitation behavior changes in Batam kpopers adolescents. This study uses descriptive qualitative method using Miles & Huberman data analysis, in determining informants, researchers used purposive sampling technique and the informant consisted of members of the KPOP-like community in Batam. Primary data and secondary data that researchers use are in-depth interviews, documentation, nonparticipant observations and articles from the internet. The results showed that teenagers affected by the phenomenon of imitation of the Korean Wave gave some behavioral changes to teenagers who like kpop. The behavioral changes that occur are imitating their idols, from the behavior of their idols like the habits of the idols they see through video, fashion, to learning and using Korean in their daily lives, such changes occur in: (1) the process of attention, (2) the process of remembrance, (3) the process of motor reproduction and (4) motivation.

Abstract

PT bright PLN Batam is the largest electricity provider in Batam, which is actively conducting socialization regarding the correct use of electricity and a ban on electricity abuse. This socialization, although it has been carried out, still records high misuse rates, especially in the Nagoya service area. This study aims to examine the determinant factors of communication in the socialization of the knowledge of its customers. This research was conducted with descriptive quantitative method, where cluster sampling technique is used with a sample of 150 people. The level of research confidence is 95% or the error tolerance level is 5%, so that from 150 people obtained 105 samples. Data was collected by questionnaire instrument. The data that has been obtained is tested with the Pearson product moment correlation technique. From the results of this study it is known that all messages and media have a positive and significant relationship to customer knowledge in the socialization activities of prevention of electricity misuse conducted by PT bright PLN Batam in the Nagoya service area. It is recommended for PT bright PLN Batam to make the socialization message as easy to remember and related to the customer's daily life, as well as using the media according to customer preferences.

Abstract

The documentary film The Act Of Killing "Jagal" requires the meaning of the sadism of the massacre and its implicit and explicit messages, whether seen from the dramatic literary, language and artistic aspects. This documentary film was released in 2012 which tells of the sadism of the massacre carried out by Anwar Congo and his friends as anti-PKI people against people accused of being communists, Chinese ethnicity, and intellectuals in less than one year, after the PKI was accused by the TNI as perpetrators of GS30 in 1965 in Indonesia, right in the area of Deli Serdang Medan. This study aims to determine and describe the representation of the sadism of the massacres in each scene of the massacre in the documentary film The Act Of Killing "Jagal" which is reviewed by the semiotic triangle meaning theory of Charles Sander Peirce. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach, to answer this research. , the author uses a qualitative method with Peirce's semiotic approach. The object of research is the video recording of the documentary film the acr of killing "Jagal" and the unit of analysis is the pieces of the image in the film which are believed to represent the sadism of the massacre. Based on the interpretation results using Peirce's semotic approach. The icons, indexes and symbols in the film the act of killing “Jagal” tell about how the violence perpetrated by the perpetrators of the anti-murder of PKI members and the heroic attitude of the perpetrators towards the killings that were committed.

Abstract

The tourism sector in Indonesia has very good levels and contributions, especially on the island of Batam, of course this will also increase the potential for businesses related to the tourism sector, one of which is hospitality. Batam is an area that is more dominantly visited by tourists compared to other regions in the Riau Archipelago, this is because public places such as ports, airports, malls and other tourist attractions are in Batam City. This makes the competition in the hotel business world in Batam City even higher. Of course, having a good Brand Image will increase the superiority of competing hotels by implementing several public relations strategies. This research took place at the Aston Batam Hotel & Residence with exploratory qualitative research techniques through observation, interviews, and literature review. The results of the research show that the public relations strategy in improving the Brand Image of Aston Batam Hotel & Residence is to carry out publications and SWOT analysis by making sales calls or visits to several companies or agencies to find out about the internal environment of Strengths and Weaknesses as well as external Opportunities and Threats faced by the world effort.

Abstract

The role of Tiktok @Vmuliana certainly has several information needs that intersect withvarious aspects, including cognitive needs, affective needs, comprehensive needs, socialneeds, and the need to share with followers. The purpose of this study is to find out howmuch influence @Vmuliana has on meeting information needs among followers. Thisresearch is a quantitative descriptive study. informant determination technique usingpurposive sampling. The technique of obtaining samples using the simple random samplingmethod using the slovin formula obtained by 100 respondents. Data collection techniquesuse questionnaires, libraries and documentation. Data validity using correlation productmoment. Data analysis techniques use simple regression analysis. This goal is to find outthe influence of Vina Muliana's Tiktok content on meeting the information needs of followers.The respondents in this study were follower of Vina Muliana's Tiktok account with thepersistence of the number of samples calculated using the formula. The theory used is theUse and Gratification theory which has the assumption that the use of media plays an activerole in choosing and using which media is appropriate to meet its needs, in this case it is aninformation need
