Abstract

This research aims to analyze the environmental impact on used goods business activities in Pagar Dewa Village, Bengkulu City, by referring to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL) regulations from an Islamic economic perspective. This study specifically uses the maslahah murrasa approach in fiqh rules as the main analytical framework. The research method used is field research with a qualitative approach. The research results show that there are a number of problems related to the responsibility of second-hand goods entrepreneurs towards environmental aspects. Entrepreneurs in the area are known to set up businesses in residential areas, which results in air and environmental pollution. This pollution has a direct impact on the surrounding community, which experiences continuous disturbances in the form of unpleasant odors. Until now, no concrete solution has been found by entrepreneurs to overcome this problem. In a review of Islamic economics, it was found that business actors have not fully complied with Islamic principles regarding environmental management and preservation. Based on the analysis of natural resources and the environment from an Islamic perspective, the Al-Istislah concept and the approach to the basic objectives of Islamic law (Maqasid al-Syari'ah) should be the main guidelines for business actors in maintaining a balance between economic benefits and environmental preservation.

Abstract

The development of the halal culinary sector in Indonesia has shown significant growth along with increasing public awareness of the consumption of halal and environmentally friendly products. However, halal culinary businesses in many regions still face challenges in integrating Islamic economic values with the concept of a green economy oriented towards environmental sustainability. This study aims to analyze how halal culinary businesses in Bengkulu City interpret and apply Islamic economic principles such as halal, thayyib, amanah, justice ('adl), and the prohibition of israf in green economy practices. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method to explore the subjective experiences of halal culinary businesses. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation of six halal culinary businesses and four consumers in Bengkulu City. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that most businesses understand the principles of halal and cleanliness (thayyib) in managing raw materials and production processes. However, the implementation of green economy practices such as food waste management, energy efficiency, and the use of environmentally friendly packaging is still suboptimal. The main challenges faced by businesses include limited knowledge, the cost of implementing environmentally friendly technologies, and a lack of supporting regulations. Nevertheless, businesses that have integrated Islamic economic values with environmentally friendly practices have shown improved business image and consumer trust. This study concludes that integrating Islamic economic principles with the green economy has the potential to support sustainable economic growth in the halal culinary sector in Bengkulu City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the mudharabah contract in the hajj savings product at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) KCP Panorama Bengkulu and to identify the supporting factors, inhibiting factors, and customers’ perceptions regarding transparency and fairness in the mudharabah contract. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The informants consisted of the Branch Operations & Service Manager (BOSM), Customer Service (CS), and five hajj savings customers. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of the mudharabah contract in the hajj savings product at BSI KCP Panorama Bengkulu has been carried out in accordance with Islamic economic principles. The contract applied is mudharabah muthlaqah, where customers act as shahibul maal and the bank acts as mudharib. The profit-sharing system is implemented based on a predetermined ratio agreed upon at the beginning of the contract. Supporting factors include the high public interest in performing the hajj pilgrimage, a flexible savings system, and effective bank services and promotions. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include low public literacy regarding Islamic banking, the relatively small profit-sharing ratio, and customers’ economic conditions. Customers generally perceive the transparency and fairness of the mudharabah contract positively, although their understanding of the profit-sharing mechanism remains limited. This study recommends enhancing Islamic financial literacy and education to optimize the implementation of the mudharabah contract.
