Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of using contextual inquiry-based worksheets on the higher-order thinking skills of students in aquatic microbiology. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest measures. The research population comprised six classes, and samples were drawn from three classes determined through random sampling, namely Regular Class (A) with 40 students (application of contextual inquiry-based worksheets), Extension Class (A) with 25 students (application of Problem-Based Multimedia Pedagogy - PBMP worksheets), and Extension Class (B) with 22 students (application of conventional worksheets). Data analysis was conducted using the Anacova method with SPSS 23.00 for Windows. Data were collected through descriptive test instruments in the form of essays and questionnaires. The results of the data analysis indicated that contextual inquiry-based worksheets yielded better outcomes compared to both contextual PBMP and conventional worksheets. The mean score for higher-order thinking skills was 86.93, with a significance level of 0.034, which is less than 0.005.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan workshop penyusunan modul ajar Kurikulum Merdeka di SMK Bintang Langkat. Workshop ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam mengembangkan modul ajar yang sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip Kurikulum Merdeka, yang menekankan pembelajaran berbasis proyek, pengembangan karakter, dan kemandirian siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen terkait pelaksanaan workshop. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa workshop memberikan pemahaman yang mendalam kepada para guru tentang konsep dan implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Guru-guru mampu menyusun modul ajar yang inovatif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa serta kontekstual dengan lingkungan sekitar. Selain itu, partisipasi aktif peserta dalam diskusi dan praktik langsung dalam menyusun modul ajar meningkatkan keterampilan mereka dalam merancang pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan menarik. Kesimpulannya, workshop ini berhasil meningkatkan kapasitas guru dalam mengembangkan modul ajar yang sesuai dengan Kurikulum Merdeka, sehingga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di SMK Bintang Langkat. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pelaksanaan workshop serupa secara berkala untuk mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka di sekolah-sekolah lain.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan museum sebagai sumber belajar yang potensial dalam pembelajaran sejarah dan budaya bagi mahasiswa, khususnya calon guru di bidang pendidikan IPS dan sejarah. Museum memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung pembelajaran kontekstual yang menghubungkan mahasiswa dengan warisan budaya dan sejarah bangsa. Namun, pemanfaatan museum sebagai bahan ajar masih tergolong minim dalam praktik pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi. Melalui kegiatan ini, mahasiswa diberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam memahami fungsi edukatif museum, mengenali koleksi yang relevan dengan kurikulum, serta menyusun rancangan pembelajaran berbasis museum. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi ceramah, diskusi, kunjungan langsung ke museum, dan praktik penyusunan media pembelajaran. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap fungsi edukatif museum, serta kemampuan mereka dalam mengintegrasikan koleksi museum ke dalam bahan ajar sejarah dan budaya. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan literasi kultural mahasiswa serta mendorong mereka untuk menjadi pendidik yang kreatif dan kontekstual dalam memanfaatkan sumber-sumber pembelajaran lokal.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the Problem Based Learning learning model on students' creative thinking skills on the diversity of living things and their classification. The type of research is a quasi-experiment with a Pretest Posttest Control Group Design research design. Sampling in this study was carried out using random sampling techniques. How to draw samples using a lottery system. The collected data was analyzed descriptively and using Manova analysis which was preceded by a hypothesis test, including Data normality test carried out using Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistics. The variant homogeneity test was carried out using Levene statistics. The colliniality test between the bound variables uses product moment correlation. All tests are carried out at a significance level of 5%. The results of the analysis of the statistical number F are equal to 31,523 and the sig. 0.000< 0.05. So the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and HA is accepted. This means that there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning learning model on students' creative thinking skills in the material "Diversity of living things and their classification". The results of the test of critical thinking skills and experimental creative thinking skills were higher than that of the control class. This is based on the results of Manova's analysis which obtained a statistical number of F equal to 19.292 and a significance number of 0.000 less than 0.05 for Pillai's Trace, Wilk's Lambda, Hotelling's Trace, and Roy's Largest Root. So the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and HA is accepted. This means that there is an influence of students' creative thinking skills between groups of students who study with the Problem Based Learning learning model.

Abstract

This study focuses on "Analysis of Students' Cognitive Abilities on Global Warming Materials in Stabat Preparatory High School". The purpose of the research is to find out the understanding of Biology learning in the cognitive realm in the XIC Science class of Stabat Preparatory High School. Descriptive research method with the form of survey study research, with a population of grade XI students. Data collection tools for interviews, questionnaires, test questions and documents. The results of the study show that from the results of the test questions faced to students, it can be seen that there are 16 students who have cognitive abilities that are included in the good category and there are 5 students who are included in the sufficient category. Based on these results from the 21 samples taken, it can be said that the cognitive abilities of students in Biology learning are quite good. And if the percentage of 84.33% of students who understand well and 17.76% of students understand adequately the test questions that are being done.
