Abstract

Batik kreatif pada masa sekarang semakin berkembang secara proses dan variasinya baik secara tehnik, pengolahan material, motif, dan hasilnya. Salah satu yang sedang dikembangkan adalah batik dengan tehnik transfer warna. Keunggulan dalam proses membatik transfer warna adalah tidak memakai bahan kimia, memiliki proses yang lebih sederhana dan cepat, serta ramah lingkungan. Maka hal tersebut perlu disosialisasikan kepada masyarakat melalui Pengabdian pada Masyarakat (PkM). Kegiatan PkM ini bertujuan memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang proses membatik kreatif dengan sistim transfer warna. SMK Kebangsaan Tanggerang Selatan adalah sekolah yang memfokuskan pada pengembangan batik. Inovasi baru yang ditawarkan pada pelatihan PkM diharapkan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan peserta didik dalam pengembangan materi teknik membatik dan dapat memperkaya khasanah teknik pembatikan di Indonesia. Karena masih masa pandemic, maka pelatihan pada tahap awal ini masih secara online dengan metode angket dan metode praktik dengan pendekatan cooperative learning. Diharapkan setelah masa pandemi selesai dapat dilanjutkan dengan metode eksperimen dan metode participatory action research. Hasil PkM diharapkan menambah wawasan para siswa mengenai perkembangan proses membatik sebagai warisan budaya tradisi.

Abstract

Analysis of The Effectiveness of Campaigns About Maintaining Environmental Cleanliness for Generation Z. Environmental cleanliness is greatly influenced by the behavior of its community members, especially Generation Z, who are now becoming part of society that can take action and influence environmental cleanliness. Digital posters are one of the media favored by Generation Z for obtaining information on how to maintain environmental cleanliness. However, many digital posters aimed at teaching Generation Z about environmental cleanliness fail to capture their interest. Therefore, this study aims to identify the types of digital posters that appeal to Generation Z in campaigns for maintaining environmental cleanliness and to determine what kind of digital posters are effective for Generation Z. The effectiveness of environmental cleanliness campaigns for Generation Z aims to make digital posters more appealing to them by employing the AIDA theory, which focuses on capturing Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action, and analyzing effectiveness for poster creators discussing environmental cleanliness. Among the various creators of digital posters on maintaining environmental cleanliness, two organizations are used for comparison: Greenpeace Indonesia and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. The conclusion of this research is that Generation Z still enjoys reading digital posters. However, the digital posters preferred by Generation Z are those created by Greenpeace Indonesia. Effective digital posters for Generation Z are those that align with their interest in digital visual works.

Abstract

Development of Multimedia-Based Print Teaching Material Design to Support Independent Learning at the Open University. Development of Multimedia-Based Print Teaching Material Design to Support Independent Learning at the Open University. This research aims to increase the effectiveness of self-learning in Entrepreneurship in the Digital Era course for Open University students, especially in the 3T region. The printed teaching materials that have been used are considered less than optimal in utilizing information technology and visual communication design, thus hindering students' understanding of dynamic entrepreneurship concepts. The development of information technology offers significant potential to support the development of innovative multimedia-based printed teaching material designs by combining the concept of hypercontent and QR Code features. Hypercontent allows students to access additional materials, video tutorials, and business simulations interactively. Meanwhile, the QR Code will connect students with relevant online learning resources, such as journal articles, case studies, and discussion forums. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Four-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The development of multimedia-based print teaching materials is expected to increase the effectiveness of independent learning and facilitate understanding of the material for students. This study provides several recommendations for further development, including: (1) a variety of more interesting visual and graphic elements to enrich the material content, (2) exploration of other interactive features such as videos, animations, or mini-quizzes to increase student engagement, and (3) utilization of link codes or URLs in the form of QR codes that lead to relevant and up-to-date learning resources. Thus, the multimedia-based print teaching materials developed in this study have great potential to be an effective and flexible learning media, especially for Open University students who study independently. It is expected that with this innovative teaching material design, student learning motivation will increase, understanding of entrepreneurship concepts will be deeper, and students' ability to apply the knowledge gained will be better.

Abstract

Drawing training for children is an enjoyable and creative activity, yet it is often overlooked in today's digital era. This background issue arises from the fact that many children prefer to play with gadgets rather than engage in artistic activities that can enhance their motor skills and creativity. The objective of this training is to provide a fun and educational drawing experience, allowing children to express themselves through abstract art and color exploration. The training methods employed include a free and unstructured approach, color games, and emotion & imagination-based activities, which encourage children to create without limitations. The conclusion of this training indicates that drawing activities not only improve children's artistic skills but also awaken their aesthetic sensitivity and motor creativity, making art an essential medium for holistic development amidst the challenges of the modern world.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji representasi keberdayaan komunikasi karakter Tuli bernama Yuki Itose dalam anime Yubisaki to Renren. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah adanya laporan tentang representasi yang kurang tepat dan stereotipikal terhadap karakter Tuli di media, seperti digambarkan sebagai objek yang dikasihani dan tidak mampu berkomunikasi dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana anime Yubisaki to Renren menggambarkan karakter Tuli yang berdaya, utuh, positif, dan menampilkan kesehariannya, serta bagaimana ia berkomunikasi dan menjalin relasi dengan teman-teman Dengarnya di kampus. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan teori representasi Stuart Hall dan pendekatan konstruksionis. Data dianalisis melalui bahasa visual dengan konstruksi konvensi sosial dan kode-kode budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Yuki menggunakan bahasa isyarat Nihon Taiou Shuwa (Signed Japanese) sebagai bahasa utama,  ekspresi wajah, dan gestur yang melengkapi dan mengubah makna. Selain itu, terdapat gestur dan ekspresi umum yang diperlihatkan Yuki. Kesimpulannya, komunikasi non-verbal dalam anime ini tidak hanya sebagai sarana komunikasi, tetapi juga menggambarkan dinamika relasi, emosi, dan konteks budaya. Hal ini menampilkan karakter Yuki yang utuh dan mampu berkomunikasi dengan lancar dengan teman-teman yang tidak Tuli. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman dan sarana edukasi bagi penonton non-disabilitas, sehingga stigma negatif terhadap komunitas Tuli dapat dihilangkan.
