Abstract

Trail runs have a high risk of injury like ankle sprains. Proper ankle sprain first aid requires preparedness to prevent more serious danger and ensure its success in the pre-hospital setting. This study aimed to explore key determinants of trail run athletes’ preparedness to perform pre-hospital first aid for ankle sprain using the PRECEDE-PROCEED Model theory. The research method used a descriptive correlational which approached cross-sectionally. The research recruited 120 trail run athletes of two professional clubs who were selected by simple random sampling. Data was collected using questionnaires. The variables measured were knowledge, belief, value, attitude, and confidence. Bivariate analysis used chi-square and spearman-rho tests. Multivariate analysis used a logistic regression test. All of the statistical analyses used α = 0,05. The research results show that half of the respondents was 18 – 35 years old. The factors correlated to the trail run preparedness to perform pre-hospital first aid for ankle sprain was as follows. The majority had a medium level of knowledge (54,2%) and a significance level of p = 0.000. Similar trends were found between belief, value, and confidence in which there were no low levels of those variables with the same significance value of p = 0.000. Lastly, respondent’s percentages of attitudes were almost equally distributed between negative (45%) and positive (66%) with a significance level of p = 0,000. In multivariate analysis, all the variables had p-values < 0,05. The OR was as follows, knowledge 14,713; belief 77,919; value 27,554; attitude 7,213; and confidence 12,408.  The conclusion is found that knowledge, belief, value, attitude, and confidence were significantly correlated with the athlete’s preparedness Together all variables were correlated significantly to the athlete’s preparedness to perform pre-hospital first aid for ankle sprain. In conclusion, to improve athlete safety during trail runs is by improving the preparedness for any adverse event including trail runs. All of the factors could increase preparedness, but some factors resulted in higher preparedness. The factors that have more effect on preparedness than the others are belief and value.

Abstract

People with chronic kidney disease who underwent hemodialysis therapy programs are at great risk of experiencing cognitive impairment, as well as mental health disorders such as emotional disturbances, anxiety, and stress, so they need support from their families. Psychosocial problems are very prone to be experienced by people with chronic disease, especially the elderly, however, nurses tend to raise physical nursing problems, which makes psychosocial problems are still not sufficiently addressed as the implication. This study aims to determine the effect of family support on stress and anxiety levels in the elderly with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Respondents in this study were elderly people with kidney disease who underwent hemodialysis therapy at Bhayangkara Hospital, Kediri City with certain criteria. The number of respondents who participated was obtained by accidental sampling technique. The data was obtained using a questionnaire for each variable and then it was tested using the Spearman correlation test. The results obtained show a significant value for both family support with stress levels and anxiety levels. This proves that family support has a good relationship with stress levels and anxiety levels.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a condition of pregnant women who tend to be high so they are at greater risk of developing hypertension. This is mostly caused by maternal age and gestational age. Preeclampsia can be treated with nonpharmacological methods, one of which is foot hydrotherapy. The study aims for knowing the influence of hydrotherapy: foot soaks against drop pressure blood on a mother pregnant with preeclampsia at Aura Syifa Hospital Kediri. Type study This use study Pre Experimental Design with design research used One Group Pretest and Posttest Design with 21 respondents with use Purposive sampling technique using sheet research instrument observation and analysis with the Wilcoxon test. Pretest and posttest analysis produce a drop in pressure blood on the first day of 0,8. Decrease pressure pre-intervention blood and post-intervention day second of 0,85. whereas descent pressure pre-intervention blood and post-intervention day third of 0,71. with a value of 0,000, which means there is an influence of foot hydrotherapy against drop pressure blood on a mother pregnant with preeclampsia at Aura Syifa Hospital Kediri. Hydrotherapy using warm water to soak the feet can dilate blood vessels, and reduce muscle tension so that blood flow becomes smooth.

This study determine wheter there are relationship between knowledge about gout and dietary compliance in elder people with gout in Kauman, Tulungagung or not. This study was cross sectional research with 187 respondents. Spearmen rank correlation test result showed a significance value (0.000) with 0.728 of coefficient value. Knowledge about gout showed positive and strong relationship with dietary compliance in elderly people with gout. It can be inferred that the better knowledge, the better and higher respondents dietary compliance

Abstract

Background: The low level of public understanding about tuberculosis (21.9%) and the limited implementation of home ventilation as a preventive measure (31.3%) prompted the launch of the “SEHATI LESTARI” program, which focuses on strengthening health cadres to create a tuberculosis-free community. Objective: This activity aimed to increase community knowledge about TB prevention, promote the adoption of healthy behaviors, and empower health cadres as agents of change at the community level. Method: The program, conducted from 16 September to 15 October 2024 with 32 participants in Tunge Village, combined interactive lectures, simulations, and field audits to ensure a comprehensive understanding. Results: Post-activity evaluations demonstrated significant improvements: participants’ knowledge of TB increased from 21.9% to 71.9%, the adoption of home ventilation practices rose from 31.3% to 68.8%, and 32 trained health cadres were successfully established. Conclusion: This community-based empowerment program through health cadres proved effective in improving knowledge and behavior related to TB prevention. To ensure program sustainability, it is recommended to establish a monthly cadre forum facilitated by the community health center (Puskesmas), integrate the TB education module into routine Posyandu activities, and develop adaptable intervention designs for other agricultural areas with similar characteristics.
