Abstract

The study aims to determine the association of milk as complimentary breakfast towards learning achievement of elementary school students, using a retrospective case-control research design. Subjects were determined purposively with the inclusion criteria having normal BMI and not lactose intolerance. The minimum number of subjects was based on calculations were 38 children. Subjects as many as 22 elementary school children were exposed to a complete breakfast habit with milk and 17 elementary school children became a control group for breakfast habits without milk. Completing the 2x24 hour food recall questionnaire and 7-day food record and subject interviews were conducted for 1 week. Learning achievement is measured using the final score of the semester 1 by K13 curriculum. There was a significant relationship in the exposed group and the control group on learning achievement especially Bahasa scores (p = 0,001) as many as 90,91% in the exposed group and 88,24%, in the control group, also, the tendency for a better IPA (Science) scores in the exposed group was 81,82% compared to the control group at 64,71%. Thus, the habit of breakfast supplemented with milk is closely related to the learning achievement of elementary school children.

Abstract

Tujuan umum kegiatan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat ini adalah terbentuknya Kebun Gizi Masyarakat Percontohan di Komunitas Kerajaan BGBJ, Bantar Gebang, Bekasi, Jawa Barat sebagai motivator dan penggerak masyarakat sekitar untuk ikut serta dalam POKIMAS di masing-masing rumah tangga. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini menyesuaikan situasi dan kondisi pandemi Covid 19, pelatihan dilakukan secara daring dan modul edukasi diberikan secara lengkap yang akan diberikan kepada semua sasaran sehingga mudah dipelajari mandiri di rumah. Tim PKM akan memberikan TOT (Training of Trainer) secara daring kepada tim inti Komunitas Kerajaan BGBJ dan selanjutnya tim Inti tersebut bertanggung jawab memberikan pelatihan ke 10 peserta sasaran POKIMAS. Hasil dan manfaat yang telah dicapai antara lain: data-data baseline awal tentang kondisi sosio-ekonomi dan pemahaman awal masyarakat sasaran sekitar mitra tentang kebiasaan makan sayur- buah dan kebun; 3 modul terdiri dari rangkaian video-video singkat dan sederhana dalam bentuk Compact Disk (CD) dan link YouTube antara lain: edukasi POKIMAS perwujudan gizi seimbang, pembuatan pupuk takakura, dan pembuatan vertical garden rumahan; serta tindak lanjut pelaksanaan kegiatan POKIMAS di 10 rumah tangga sasaran.

Abstract

Karies gigi umumnya terjadi pada anak usia sekolah yang gemar mengonsumsi makanan dan minuman manis. Salah satu upaya pemerintah dalam mewujudkan Indonesia bebas karies gigi tahun 2030 adalah meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang pemilihan makanan yang tepat untuk kesehatan gigi. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada anak usia sekolah tentang pemilihan pangan yang tepat untuk mencegah karies gigi dengan media UNAGI (Ular Tangga Gizi). Metode dalam kegiatan ini adalah ceramah dan diskusi dilengkapi dengan permainan UNAGI. Lokasi pelaksanaan berada di SDI Karya Mukti Citeureup, Kabupaten Bogor, Jawa Barat. Kegiatan ini menyasar para siswa kelas 3 SD berusia 8-10 tahun berjumlah 18 orang. Pengabdian masyarakat berjalan baik dan berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pemilihan pangan cegah karies gigi pada sasaran dengan rerata skor sebesar 76 menjadi 86. Kegiatan edukasi pemilihan pangan cegah karies gigi dengan permainan UNAGI menarik bagi sasaran karena dapat menyediakan proses bermain sekaligus pembelajaran secara bersamaan.

Abstract

Background: The work pattern that occurs during the pandemic is working from home (Work from Home). Before the pandemic, breastfeeding mothers who worked normatively had the right to leave for three months. This regulation often becomes an obstacle for breastfeeding mothers who work to practice exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months using Direct Breast-Feeding (DBF). Objectives: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of WFH on the implementation of exclusive breastfeeding with DBF in working mothers. Methods: The research design is a retrospective case control. The subject category was divided into two treatments: full WFH mothers and partial WFH mothers. The subject treatment groups were divided based on the method of breastfeeding: direct breastfeeding (DBF) and mixed feeding (MF). The subjects of this study were 27 working mothers, 20 mothers as cases, and 7 mothers as controls which were determined purposively. Results: The difference test between the DBF breastfeeding method during the exclusive breastfeeding period and the WFH treatment showed a significant difference (p=0.000) between the partial WFH treatment and the choice of the exclusive breastfeeding method for DBF in infants. On the other hand, there was no significant difference (p=0.083) between the full WFH treatment and the choice of exclusive breastfeeding method for DBF in infants. The difference test between the WFH partial treatment and the DBF breastfeeding method during the exclusive breastfeeding period showed a significant difference (p=0.030). The difference test between the full WFH treatment and the DBF breastfeeding method during the exclusive breastfeeding period showed a significant difference (p=0.005). The mixed feeding method also showed that there were differences (p=0.000) in working mothers who were fully WFH. Conclusions: Full WFH affects the success of exclusive breastfeeding with the DBF method. Full WFH during the Covid-19 pandemic in breastfeeding mothers proved effective for implementing the practice of exclusive breastfeeding using the DBF method.

Background: Food intake, exclusive breastfeeding, and nutritional adequacy can affect normal nutritional status in children, especially during the first 1000 days of life. Objectives: Analyzing the effect of the exclusive breastfeeding method on the nutritional status of infants in Work From Home (WFH) working mothers Methods: The study was conducted quantitatively descriptively with a cross-sectional study design. Research respondents were selected mothers during the Covid-19 pandemic (PSBB or PPKM levels 3-4, namely from April 2020 to October 2021) who provided exclusive breastfeeding, and respondents worked under the WFH scheme. Respondents totaled 27 people who were divided into direct-breastfeeding (DBF) and mixed-feeding (MF) groups. Respondents have selected purposively sampling. meetings online namely by using platforms, namely Whatsapp and Zoom. Results: Significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding methods with a weight-for-height z score (WHZ) (P = 0.031; R = -0.417) and a bmi-for-age z score (BAZ) (P = 0.044; R = -0.391), In addition, a significant difference was found between the mean of the DBF and MF groups on the WHZ (P=0.031) and WHZ (P=0.044) with the mean nutritional status of MF on the BB/TB or BB/PB index of 0.490. ± 0.970SD (at risk of overweight). Conclusions: Exclusive breastfeeding method has a significant relationship with normal baby weight. In addition, there are significant differences in the nutritional status of infants between the DBF and MF breastfeeding methods. babies with the MF method tend to be at risk of more nutrition. Mothers who work WFH are expected to maximize exclusive breastfeeding for babies, especially with the DBF breastfeeding method. In addition, the researchers hope that this research can serve as an advocate for the draft government regulation regarding 6 months of maternity leave to maximize exclusive breastfeeding for babies.

Abstract

ABSTRACTABSTRACT Background: Work from home (WFH) has various positive and negative impacts. Working mothers have enough time for their families. One of which is exclusive breastfeeding for their babies. However, the transition of work patterns to WFH can increase device usage or screen time among working mothers. So, it affects lifestyle behaviors related to physical activity. In addition, the workload during WFH tends to be higher and it affects mothers in carrying out their roles as mothers and employees. Obejective: This study aims to determine the association between screen time, physical activity, and workload among working mothers with exclusive breastfeeding through direct breastfeeding and mixed breastfeeding during the Covid-19 pandemic.Methods: This research was conducted on 27 breastfeeding mothers with≥ 6 months and ≤ 2 years old children. This research design is a cross-sectional study and sampling techniques using purposive sampling. Data analysis using spearman rank correlation. Results: Results reveal that there is no association between screen time (television, laptop or computer, and smartphone) with the breastfeeding method with p>0,05 (p-value = 0.239; p-value = 0.403; p-value= 0.714) and there is no association between physical activity with screen time (TV, laptop or computer, and smartphone) with p>0,05 (p-value = 0.692; p-value = 0.277; p-value = 0.239). But, there is an association between workload and breastfeeding through direct breastfeeding and mixed breastfeeding with p<0.05 (p=0.036). Conclusion:  Screen time and breastfeeding methods have no association. There is also no association between screen time and physical activity. However, there is an association between workload and breastfeeding methods in direct breastfeeding and mixed breastfeeding. Ibu yang bekerja secara WFH cenderung memiliki waktu yang cukup untuk keluarga salah satunya yaitu pemberian ASI eksklusif bagi bayinya. Namun, transisi pola kerja ke WFH dapat meningkatkan penggunaan perangkat berlayar atau screen time pada ibu bekerja sehingga memengaruhi perilaku gaya hidup yang berkaitan dengan aktivitas fisik. Selain itu, beban kerja saat WFH cenderung lebih tinggi sehingga memengaruhi ibu dalam menjalankan peran menjadi ibu dan pekerja.Tujuan: mengetahui hubungan screen time, aktivitas fisik, dan beban kerja pada ibu bekerja terhadap pemberian ASI eksklusif secara direct breastfeeding dan mixed breastfeeding saat pandemi covid-19.Metode: Metode penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 27 ibu menyusui yang bekerja WFH dan memiliki bayi berusia ≥ 6 bulan dan ≤ 2 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional dengan penentuan subjek secara purposive. Analisis data menggunakan uji spearman rank correlation.Hasil:  tidak terdapat hubungan antara screen time (TV, laptop atau komputer, dan handphone) dengan metode menyusui dengan nilai p>0,05 (p-value = 0,239; p-value = 0,403; p-value=0,714) dan tidak terdapat hubungan antara aktivitas fisik dengan screen time TV, laptop atau komputer, dan handphone dengan nilai p>0,05 (p-value = 0,692; p-value = 0,277; p-value = 0,239). Terdapat hubungan antara beban kerja dengan metode menyusui secara direct breastfeeding dan mixed breastfeeding dengan p-value = 0,036.Simpulan: Screen time dan metode menyusui tidak memiliki hubungan. Tidak terdapat juga hubungan antara screen time dengan aktivitas fisik. Abstract

Prevalensi anemia pada remaja putri di Indonesia masih tinggi. Salah satu penyebab dari permasalahan gizi tersebut adalah kurangnya pengetahuan mengenai anemia. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi permasalahan anemia adalah dengan pemberian pendidikan gizi. Pelaksanaan pendidikan gizi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja putri mengenai anemia. Pendidikan gizi ini dilaksanakan di SMKN 45 Jakarta dengan subjek sebanyak 33 siswi remaja putri dari kelas 10 berumur 15-16 tahun. Metode yang digunakan dalam pendidikan gizi ini adalah metode pre-post test dengan pemaparan mengenai anemia zat gizi besi menggunakan media buku saku, powerpoint, diskusi dua arah, serta hasil dari pendidikan gizi tersebut diuji menggunakan perhitungan statistik. Hasil dari pendidikan gizi ini berdasarkan uji statistik Wilcoxon didapatkan nilai signifikan p = 0.001 (p<0.05) menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan pendidikan gizi pada siswi kelas 10 di SMKN 45 Jakarta. Upaya pemberian pendidikan gizi anemia dengan media buku saku terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan siswi kelas 10 remaja putri mengenai anemia gizi besi di SMKN 45 Jakarta. One of the causes of these nutritional problems is the lack of knowledge about anemia. Efforts that can be made to reduce the problem of anemia are by providing nutrition education. The implementation of this nutrition education aims to improve the nutritional knowledge of adolescent girls about anemia. This nutrition education was held at SMKN 45 Jakarta with 33 female adolescent students from class 10 aged 15-16 years. The method used in this nutrition education is the pre-post test method with exposure to iron nutrition anemia using pocket book media, powerpoint, two-way discussion, and the results of nutrition education are tested using statistical calculations. The results of this nutrition education based on the Wilcoxon statistical test obtained a significant value of p = 0.001 (p <0.05) indicating a significant difference in the increase in knowledge before and after nutrition education for 10th grade students at SMKN 45 Jakarta. Efforts to provide anemia nutrition education with pocket book media have proven effective in increasing the knowledge of 10th grade adolescent female students regarding iron nutrition anemia at SMKN 45 Jakarta. Abstract

The incidence of obesity at all ages in Indonesia, including adolescents, has increased. Obesity has a negative impact on physical and social health in adolescents. Excessive food consumption and lack of physical activity are risk factors for obesity in adolescents. Based on this urgency, it is necessary to prevent obesity in adolescents. The purpose of this Community Service activity was to increase adolescents’ understanding of the importance of the 4 pillars of balanced nutrition in efforts and to change attitudes by measuring waist circumference regularly to prevent obesity. Increasing knowledge and attitudes to prevent obesity was obtained by providing a Nutrition Education Program named "SAGARI" (Check Your Own Waist Circumference). The program activities included counseling on the 4 pillars of balanced nutrition with lecture method, demonstration for measuring waist and hip circumferences, measuring nutritional status for SMK students consisting of measuring waist circumference (WC) and body mass index (BMI), and providing measuring tape "SAGARI". The results of this activity were an increase in the median knowledge score from 70.00 to 80.00 and an average attitude score from 3.00 to 3.91 related to obesity prevention in adolescents. These results showed that the "SAGARI" nutrition education program can increase students' knowledge and attitudes regarding obesity prevention which is expected to be implemented through daily behavior. Keywords: Balance nutritional, waist circumference, obesity, adolescent, nutritional status.
