Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penambahan tepung herbal daun pepaya dan kunyit, serta Se dan Zn proteinat terhadap kadar glukosa darah, laktosa susu, serta dapat menjadi bahan untuk memperbaiki produksi susu pada sapi perah. Materi yang digunakan yaitu 16 ekor sapi Peranakan Friesian Holstein laktasi, tepung kunyit, tepung daun pepaya, mineral Se dan Zn proteinat dan pakan basal (rumput gajah dan konsentrat). Rancangan yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, yaitu T0 (pakan basal), T1 (pakan basal + tepung herbal), T2 (pakan basal + Se dan Zn proteinat), T3 (pakan basal + tepung + Se dan Zn proteinat). Penambahan tepung herbal berupa tepung kunyit dan daun papaya 0,03% dari BB, Se dan Zn proteinat diberikan sesuai kekurangan ternak dengan dosis Se 0,5 mg/kg BB dan Zn 60 mg/kg BB. Parameter yang diamati antara lain glukosa darah, kadar laktosa susu dan total produksi susu. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata kadar glukosa darah pada T0, T1, T2 dan T3 yaitu 83,61; 82,33; 83,27 dan 91,55 mg/dL. Kadar laktosa susu pada T0, T1, T2 dan T3 yaitu 4,38; 4,38; 4,48 dan 4,42%. Produksi susu pada T0, T1, T2 dan T3 yaitu 8,98; 11,58; 9,00 dan 11,15 liter. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh nyata (P>0,05) dari perlakuan yang diberikan terhadap semua parameter yang diamati. Sehingga, kesimpulan dari suplementasi herbal dan mineral proteinat pada sapi perah tidak mengubah glukosa darah dan laktosa susu. Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membandingkan tingkat kontaminasi bakteri pada susu segar yang dianalisis dengan uji reduktase, uji alkohol, kadar asam, dan standard plate count (SPC). Susu segar didapatkan dari lokasi peternakan, tempat pengumpulan susu (TPS) dan Koperasi Unit Desa (KUD). Hasil dari seluruh sampel susu yang didapat jumlah bakteri dalam susu melebihi SNI  3141.1: 2011. Sampel susu milik KUD adalah yang paling tinggi ( P < 0,05) diantara sampel susu yang lain dan tidak terdapat perbedaan antara jumlah bakteri antara peternak dan TPS. Meskipun jumlah bakteri melebihi standar SNI, rata – rata waktu reduktase diatas 8 jam, yang diindikasikan bahwa susu tersebut dalam kualitas yang baik. Jumlah bakteri akan meningkat ketika dibawa dari peternakan sampai ke KUD. Meskipun beberapa sampel terdapat hasil positif dalam uji alkohol, kadar asam dalam semua sampel masih dalam standar SNI. Kesimpulannya adalah peternak dan pemerintah harus memperhatikan higiene pemerahan, penanganan dan perlunya rantai dingin untuk memperlambat pertumbuhan bakteri. Kata kunci: jumlah bakteri; kontaminasi; susu segar; kualitas ABSTRACT This research was conducted to determine the level of bacterial contamination in raw milk as analyzed by the reductation test, alcohol test, total acid and standard plate count. The raw milk samples were collected from dairy farm, milk collection centre (MCC) and dairy cooperative. Results indicated that the bacterial count in all of milk samples were higher than SNI 3141.1:2001 standard. The dairy cooperative milk sample had the highest (P<0.05) bacterial count among the samples and there is no different (P>0.05) in the bacterial count between the dairy farm and MCC . Although the bacterial counts were above the SNI standard, however, the average of reductation time were above 8 hours, indicating good quality of raw milk. The number of bacteria increase when the shipping time from farm to dairy cooperative increased. Although some of the samples were positive in the alcohol test, the acid concentrations in all samples were in the range of SNI standard. In conclution, farmers and government should pay attention to milking hygiene, handling and cold chain to prevent the bacterial contamination in raw milk.Keywords: bacterial count; contamination; raw milk; quality

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengkaji hubungan konsumsi serat kasar (SK) terhadap produksi susu dan kandungan lemak susu sapi perah. Materi yang digunakan adalah 30 ekor sapi perah laktasi. Kadar lemak susu dianalisis menggunakan analisis gerber, sedangkan kadar SK dianalisis menggunakan analisis proksimat. Data dianalisis secara korelasi untuk mengetahui besar kecilnya hubungan variabel bebas dan variabel terikat sertaanalisis regresi non linier kuadratik untuk mengetahui hubungan dari variabel-variabel.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsumsi SK rata-rata sebesar 5,99 kg/ekor, produksi susu rata-rata sebesar 10,95 kg/ekor, kandungan lemak susu 0,33 kg/ekor. Koefisien hubungan konsumsi SK pakan terhadap  produksi susu sapi perah rendah (r=0,275), dengan koefisien determinasi (R2=0,076)dan persamaan y = - 0,208x2 + 3,026x +0,828. Hubungan konsumsi SK pakan terhadap lemak susu sapi perah adalah sangat rendah (r=0,190), dengan koefisien determinasi (R2=0,036) dan persamaan y = - 0,005x2 + 0,070 x +0,086. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa hubungan antara konsumsi SK terhadap produksi susu dan lemak susu mengikuti kurva quadratik, berarti peningkatan konsumsi SK tidak menyebabkan peningkatan produksi susu dan lemak susu secara linier.Kata kunci : serat kasar; produksi susu; lemak susu; sapi perah ABSTRACT The research was done to evaluate the correlation between crude fiber intake with total milk production and milk fat by using a total of 30 dairy cattle. The concentrations of milk fat were analyzed using Gerber method, while crude fiber in the diets were analyzed using proximate analysis. The data analyzed by corellation method to find relationship value of independent variabel and dependent variabel, the non linier quadratic regression was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the average crude fiber intake was 5.99 kg/d which give total milk production of 10.95 kg/d, with milk fat content of 0.33kg/d. Correlation coefficient between crude fiber intake and total milk production was low (r=0.275), as well as the determinant coefficient(R2=0.076)with these equation y = - 0.208x2 + 3.026x + 0.828. Correlation coeficient (r) between crude fiber intake and milk fat content were very low (r=0.190), and the determinant coefficient (R2=0.036) with these equation y = - 0.005x2 + 0.070x + 0.086. In conclusion, the correlation between crude fiber intake, milk production and milk fat were followed the quadratic regression. Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji berbagai kandungan urea dalam pakan terhadap fungsi hati kambing perah Peranakan Etawa (PE) fase laktasi. Materi penelitian terdiri dari 16 ekor kambing PE laktasi. Bahan pakan yang digunakan adalah wheat brand, tangkai gandum, bungkil kelapa, bungkil kedelai, tetes, mineral, urea, onggok, tongkol dan jagung giling. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 kelompok, perlakuan yang diujikan yaitu T0= urea 0% dalam 100% Bahan Kering (BK) pakan, T1= urea 0,4% dalam 100% BK pakan, T2= urea 0,8%dalam 100% BK pakan, T3= urea 1,2% dalam 100% BK pakan. Parameter yang diamati adalah kadar Serum Glutamat Piruvat Transaminase (SGPT) dan kadar Serum Glutamat Oksaloasetat Transaminase (SGOT) dalam darah. Sampel darah diambil pada hari ke-28 sejak pakan perlakuan diberikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berbagai kandungan urea dalam pakan sampai dengan taraf 1,2% BK pakan tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap kadar SGPT dan SGOT kambing PE laktasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa kadar urea sampai dengan taraf 1,2% BK pakan tidak menyebabkan peningkatan kinerja hati yang berlebihan dan fungsi hati tetap normal.Kata kunci: kambing PE; urea; SGPT; SGOTABSTRACTThis research was conducted to determine the effects of urea levels in feed on the liver function as indicated by the concentrations of serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase (SGPT) and serum glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (SGOT) in lactating Etawa crossbred. Goats fed diets in mixed ration which partially replaced with urea in the amount of 0%, 0.4%, 0.8% and 1.2% on DM basis for 28 days. The experimental design used in randomized complete block design. The blood samples were taken from jugular vein on day 28 to measure the concentrations of SGPT and SGOT. The results showed that the concentrations of SGPT and SGOT did not differ among the experimental diets (P>0.05). Thus, urea could be used in the diets of lactating dairy crossbred goats up to 1.2% DM, without any detrimental effects on the liver function.Keywords : Etawa crossbred; urea; SGPT; SGOT

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara konsumsi protein pakan  terhadap produksi  susu,  kandungan protein  dan  laktosa susu  pada sapi perah di Kota Salatiga. Materi yang digunakan adalah 30 ekor sapi perah dengan kriteria bulan laktasi 2-3 dan periode laktasi 2-3. Data dianalisis dengan korelasi untuk mengetahui model dan besar kecilnya hubungan variabel bebas dan variable terikat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi bahan kering (BK) sebesar 13,29  kg dengan  kadar protein pakan  11,33% atau  1,01 kg. Produksi  susu 9,96 liter atau 10,28 kg. Kadar protein susu 2,70% atau 0,28 kg. Kadar laktosa susu 4,10% atau 0,40 kg. Terdapat hubungan kuadratik antara konsumsi protein pakan dengan  produksi (P= 0,115) dengan nilai  r= 0,385.  Demikian  juga, antara konsumsi  protein  pakan dengan  protein  susu  (P= 0,174) dengan  nilai  r= 0,349. Selain itu, terdapat hubungan model linier antara konsumsi protein pakan dengan laktosa susu (P= 0,177) dengan nilai r= 0,329. Demikian juga, antara laktosa susu dengan produksi susu (P= 0,023) dengan nilai r=0,46. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsumsi  protein  pakan  mempunyai  hubungan  kuadratik  dengan  produksi  dan protein  susu.  Kadar  laktosa  susu  mempunyai  hubungan  linier dengan konsumsi protein pakan dan produksi susu.Kata kunci : Protein pakan; produksi susu; protein susu; laktosa susu; sapi perah ABSTRACT This  research  was  conducted  to  examine the relationship  between  crude protein (CP) intake and milk production, milk protein and lactose on dairy cows in Salatiga District.  A  total  of  30  dairy cows  in  the lactation  month  of 2-3  and lactation period of 2-3 were used. The result showed that dry matter (DM) intake, CP content and CP intake were 13.29 kg/d, 11.33% and 1.01 kg/d, respectively. Milk production was 9.96 L/d or equal to 10.28 kg/d with the contents of protein and  lactose  in  milk  were 2.70%  (0.28kg/d)  and 4.10% (0.4  kg/d), respectively. The correlation  between  CP intake and  milk production  were fitted to  the quadratic linear  regression  relationship  (r= 0.385). Similarly,  the  correlation between  CP intake  and milk  protein  content  also  follow  the  quadratic linear regression (r= 0.349). Moreover, the relationship between milk lactose with CP  intake and milk lactose with total milk production were fitted to the linear models (r= 0.17,  r= 0.46).  It could  be concluded that  CP intake have quadratic relationship with milk production and milk protein. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah konsumsi, tampilan produksi dan kualitas susu di peternakan sapi perah Peranakan Friesian Holstein (PFH) yang terletak di dataran tinggi dan rendah di Kabupaten Semarang. Data yang diambil meliputi suhu lingkungan dan kelembaban, konsumsi pakan, produksi susu, kualitas susu dari 30 ekor sapi perah. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu pada dataran rendah 25,70C, lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan dataran tinggi 22,40C (P<0,05), sedangkan kelembaban tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Konsumsi bahan kering, lemak kasar, serat kasar tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) antara dataran tinggi dan rendah, sedangkan konsumsi protein kasar berbeda nyata (P<0,05). Produksi dan kualitas susu di dataran tinggi dan rendah tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan pada konsumsi bahan kering, lemak kasar, serat kasar, produksi susu, dan kualitas susu pada peternakan sapi perah di dataran rendah dan dataran tinggi, meskipun suhu dan konsumsi protein kasar pada kedua dataran tersebut berbeda nyata.Kata kunci : Dataran rendah; dataran tinggi; konsumsi pakan; sapi perah; susu ABSTRACT The research was conducted to determine feed intake, milk production and milk quality of dairy cattle at lowland and highland located at Semarang district. A total of 30 dairy cattle used in this research. Datataken included region temperature and humidity, feed intake, milk production and quality. The data obtained from lowland and highland were then compared using t-test analysis. The results showed that temperature in the lowland were higher 25.70C (P<0.05) than in the highland 22.40C. Nonetheless, the feed intake (dry mater, crude fiber, and crude fat) did not differ (P>0.05) between the regions, except for crude protein intake, which was higher (P<0.05) in the lowland than in highland. However, total milk production and milk quality were similar between highland and lowland. Therefore it was concluded that the altitude of region did not affect feed intake, milk production and milk quality.Key words : Dairy cattle; feed intake; highland; lowland; milk

Abstract

The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the main source of bacteria contamination in milk at smallholder dairy farmers. The research was conducted at Margo Rukun dairy farm group in Semarang regency. Samples were milk and possible bacteria contamination sources during milking process such as: milk bucket swab, cow teat skin swab, farmer’s hand swab, water used during milking and napkin for wiping the udder (cutted at 1x1 cm square). Observed parameter was total number of bacteria using total plate count (TPC) method. The data were analyzed by t-test and linear regression analysis. The result showed that the total bacteria in milk were 320.143 CFU/ml. Total bacteria in the bucket (320.143 CFU/ml) was higher (p<0.05) than that in the water (149.227 CFU/ml). However, total bacteria in the water did not differ with the total bacteria in the teat skin (109.833 CFU/ml). Total bacteria in the teat skin were higher (p<0.05) than that in the napkin (96.750 CFU/ml) and in the farmer’s hands (33.380 CFU/ml). Highest coeficient correlation (r=0.384) was found between total bacteria in milk and total bacteria in milk bucket, indicating that the milk bucket gave the highest contribution to bacteria contamination in milk. Keywords: milk, bacteria, contamination, milking

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of teat dipping of Ettawa crossbred goat using babadotan leaves (Ageratum conyzoides Linn.) extract on the number of Staphylococcus aureusin milk. The udder inflammation degree also was determined using California Mastitis Test (CMT). The treatments were post milking teat dipping using antiseptic solutions containing 1%, 3%, and 5% of babadotan leaves extract (T1, T2 and T3, respectively). Milk samples were collected at before treatment (H0) and on the day 3, 6 and 9 day of the treatments (H3, H6 and H9, respectively). Commercially antiseptic povidone iodine was used as positive control (K+). Experimental research design was completely randomized design (CRD) split plot types, with the different extract concentration as the main plot and the day of treatment as subplot. CMT scores was analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis test. The results showed that babadotan leaves extract 5% had the same effectiveness (p>0,05) with povidone iodine to reduce the number of Staphylococcus aureusin milk. All extract concentrations (1%, 3% and 5%) had the same effectiveness (H>c0,05(3)) to decrease the CMT scores by postmilking teat dip treatments for 9 days. Keywords:Teat dipping, Ageratum conyzoides (L)., Staphylococcus aureus, CMT score

Abstract

Goat management in rural areas is still commonly done traditionally with little regard for health factors. One factor is the presence of parasitic worms in the goat's digestive tract which causes disturbed growth. The research aims to evaluate the effect of the addition of turmeric and multinutrient block plus (MNBP) in eliminating endoparasites and increasing feed intake of Jawarandu goats. The material used was 12 male Jawarandu goats weighing an average of 20 kg. A completely randomized design was used in this study with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Treatment T0: basal ration + MNBP; T1: T0 + 1% turmeric; T2: T0 + 3% turmeric; T3: T0 + 5% turmeric. The parameters observed were feed intake, weight gain, number of endoparasites and total eggs per gram of feces. Data analysis using analysis of variance significance level of 5% to determine the effect of treatment. If there is a treatment effect, it is followed by Duncan's multiple range test. The results showed a decrease in the number of endoparasites. The best treatment to induce an antibody system is T2 treatment, namely the addition of turmeric with a level of 3%. Feed intake was not significantly increasing although improving body weight gain in T2 and T3. The conclusion of the study is that the administration of MNBP and turmeric with a level of 5% has not been able to eliminate all endoparasites until the 28th day. MNBP and turmeric are useful as natural antioxidants. Increased level of turmeric can increase weight gain and immune system of goats. This study aimed primarily to investigate the effect of Zn-Proteinate (Zn-Prot) supplementation on in vitro rumen digestibility and rumen fermentation. This research used a completely randomized design with four treatments and four replicates. The experimental treatment was the supplementation of various levels of Zn-Prot (0; 12.5 ppm; 25 ppm, and 37.5 ppm) on a dry matter basis. Parameters determined were in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD), in vitro organic matter digestibility (IVOMD), partial volatile fatty acid (VFA) (acetate, propionate, and butyrate), A/P ratio, CH4, and the efficiency of the conversion hexose to VFA. Data were analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that goats fed with a diet supplemented with 25 ppm Zn-Prot had the highest IVDMD and IVOMD values. There was no significant effect on the VFA and CH4 concentrations, A/P ratio, and the efficiency of the hexose-VFA conversion within treatment groups. In conclusion, supplementing 25 ppm of Zn-Prot into the diet of dairy goat increase the dry matter and organic matter digestibility.
