Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between critical thinking and creativity among elementary school students, considering the influence of age and gender. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, involving 167 students aged 9-13 years. Non-parametric statistical methods, including Spearman's correlation, Kruskal-Wallis H test, and Mann-Whitney U test, were used due to the non-normal distribution of the data. The results revealed a strong positive correlation between critical thinking and creativity (? = 0.902, p = 0.023). Creativity significantly differed by age (H = 1.756; p = 0.041), with the 9-10 year age group exhibiting the highest creativity scores. A significant gender difference was also found in creativity (p = 0.029), with males scoring higher on average. Conversely, females exhibited slightly higher critical thinking scores. The study concludes that critical thinking and creativity are closely related in elementary students, with age and gender playing a significant role. Educational interventions should aim to foster both skills, considering the decline in creativity with age and the observed gender differences.

Abstract

This study evaluated the quality of test items in the Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) Final Summative Assessment (ASAT) for Grade 6 students at SDN Kutasari 03 Cipari, Cilacap Regency. Using ANATES software, 25 multiple-choice and 10 essay questions were analyzed from a sample of 5 students. The analysis focused on reliability, discriminating power, difficulty level, and distractor effectiveness. Results revealed high reliability for multiple-choice questions (0.72) and very high reliability for essay questions (0.93). For multiple-choice items, 48% demonstrated good discriminating power, 32% had balanced difficulty levels, and 40% showed significant correlations with total scores. Among essay questions, 60% exhibited good discriminating power, and all items had moderate difficulty levels. Based on these findings, several test items require revision to enhance assessment quality in the Physical Education subject, particularly focusing on improving discriminating power and difficulty balance for optimal student evaluation.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the misconceptions of grade 6 students at SD Negeri Danasri Kidul 02 regarding physical fitness. The approach used is descriptive quantitative with a three-tier diagnostic instrument. This instrument reveals misconceptions through multiple-choice questions, reasons for answers, and students' level of confidence. The research subjects are all 15 grade 6 students (8 female and 7 male). Data is analyzed to examine the types of misconceptions, the frequency of their occurrence, and students' confidence in those misconceptions. The research results are expected to provide an accurate overview of students' misconception profiles. This information is important for designing more effective and targeted learning strategies. The three-tier instrument is considered important for an in-depth evaluation of students' understanding, beyond just right or wrong answers. This research also encourages the development of teaching materials to minimize misconceptions. Consequently, the conceptual understanding of physical fitness at the elementary school level can be improved.

Abstract

This study critically analyzes the implementation of differentiated learning in improving science literacy and creativity among elementary school students. Through a qualitative literature review approach, various research findings were synthesized, demonstrating that differentiated learning, especially when combined with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, significantly enhances student outcomes. The results indicate improvements in literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, and creative skills when learning is tailored to students' interests, readiness, and learning profiles. Differentiated learning not only addresses the diversity of student needs but also fosters active engagement and innovation in the classroom. The findings support the integration of differentiated strategies in science education to build foundational 21st-century competencies among young learners.

The development of interactive learning media is a factor that can influence student learning outcomes. This research aims to analyze the effect of developing interactive learning media on student learning outcomes. This research is a Research and Development (RnD) type study aimed at developing and producing a product. The development of this research refers to the 4-D model (Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination) developed by Thiagarajan, which was conducted at SD Negeri Gumilir 05, North Cilacap District, Cilacap Regency. The research population consisted of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri Gumilir 05, with a research sample of 6 students (3 students from class VI A and 3 students from class VI B). Class VI A with 23 students served as the experimental class, while class VI B with 25 students served as the control class. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and questionnaires. Prerequisite tests were conducted before hypothesis testing, consisting of normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent T-tests. The research results obtained from the t-test and simple linear regression analysis showed that the development of Canva-based interactive learning media had a 5% effect on the science learning outcomes of Class VI students at SD Negeri Gumilir 05.
