Abstract

This study explores the complex interplay of respiratory health, air quality, and demographic traits in the Tangerang locality. Moderate pollution levels were found through continuous monitoring of air quality measures, such as particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and ozone (O3). A 12% rise in hospital admissions for respiratory illnesses and a prevalence of symptoms were found in respiratory health assessments, which included surveys and health records. Analyses of correlation and regression highlighted the importance of O3, PM2.5, and NO2 in affecting respiratory health outcomes. The insights pertaining to demographics revealed differences in vulnerability among various age groups, genders, and occupational categories. The results inform suggestions for focused interventions, continuous surveillance, public education initiatives, and subcategory evaluations to tackle the complex issues brought about by air pollution in Tangerang.

Abstract

A vest as therapy is a vest that can be used to reduce work fatigue in workers and improve posture in lunch box workers. Based on a preliminary study conducted on July 30, 2023, using the Nordic Body Map questionnaire to measure pain levels in 28 body locations. The questionnaire was conducted by interviewing 10 lunch box workers. One method used for vest intervention as therapy is to wear the vest on workers with time variations of 10, 15, and 20 minutes. Objective: to determine the effectiveness of work instructions for varying the time of wearing a vest as a therapy for the application of musculoskeletal pain complaints in Lunch Box workers at CV Tunas Jaya Abadi Bantul. Method: This study is a Quasi Experiment with a Pretest-Postest with Control Group Design approach. The number of research objects is 60 respondents. Results: The decrease in musculoskeletal pain complaints with a time variation of 10 minutes was 17.07%, a time variation of 15 minutes was 45.68%, and a time variation of 20 minutes was 73.75%. Based on the results of the One Way Anova test with Asymp.Sig of 0.000 < p value (0.05). Conclusion: The variation of the work instruction time for wearing a vest as the most effective therapy in the application of musculoskeletal pain complaints is at a time variation of 20 minutes.

Abstract

Tegallayang, Caturharjo, Kapanewon Pandak, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, is one of the designated locations for the Healthy District or City (Kabupaten atau Kota Sehat, KKS) assessment in Bantul in 2025. To achieve the objectives of this program, the local government must establish a forum focused on empowering community cadres. However, not all regions have effectively implemented the Healthy District or City program. Challenges include the lack of outreach and socialization by the government, resulting in limited public awareness of the program, as well as inadequate cross-sectoral collaboration. This community engagement activity aims to enhance knowledge about the Healthy District or City initiative and provide guidance for creating residential areas that meet health indicators. The methods employed include delivering material using PowerPoint presentations and LCD projectors, targeting the Healthy District or City forum groups in Kapanewon Pandak, Bantul

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of community-based approaches in addressing infectious diseases at the local level, particularly in the city of Surakarta. This approach involves community empowerment through the engagement of local health cadres and the formation of environmental awareness groups that actively carry out disease prevention activities. The method used is a case study with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the community-based approach has successfully increased awareness and behavioral changes among the public in adopting healthy lifestyles, such as maintaining environmental cleanliness and independently conducting case tracking. Moreover, the strengthening of social capital and local leadership has proven to be crucial factors in the success of the program. Challenges encountered include low digital literacy among cadres and the general community, limiting the use of information technology. In conclusion, the community-based approach is an effective strategy to complement formal healthcare services in controlling infectious diseases. This model is recommended for replication with adjustments tailored to local socio-cultural characteristics.

Abstract

Abstract

Air problems are problems that require special attention in human welfare and health. This condition can cause various risks of disease due to poor air quality. Observation results show that the condition of the men's bedrooms in the dormitory is very dirty, students rarely clean their rooms and some students smoke in the room. Initial test results showed that the room humidity was 73%, the room temperature was 31ᵒC and the air germ count was 1.500 colonies/m3. These various factors can influence the number of air germs, so the room needs to be disinfected. One natural ingredient that can be used as a disinfectant is lemongrass stems, because they contain flavonoids such as quercetin, alkaloids, saponins, tannins and polyphenols. The aim of this research was to determine the most effective dose of kitchen lemongrass extract as a natural disinfectant in reducing the number of room air germs. This type of research is Quasi Experimental with a Non Equivalent pretest-posttest Group approach. First, the room is checked for air germ numbers before (pre), then intervention is carried out with kitchen lemongrass extract disinfectant liquid and waited for 1 hour, and finally the air germ numbers are checked after (post). Based on the research results, it can be concluded that among the three disinfectant doses of kitchen lemongrass extract. The 5% dose is the most effective dose in reducing the number of airborne germs with a reduction percentage of 1.033.3 colonies/m3 (65.40%) and meets quality standards.
