Abstract

Vegetable waste can be used as ruminant animal feed because it is abundantly available and has economic value, the price is cheap and does not compete with human needs, besides that it can reduce environmental pollution. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of crude protein and crude fiber in market vegetable waste as an alternative feed with the addition of EM4. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) method which consisted of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The results of this study were the addition of EM4 and molasses gave a very significant effect (P<0.01) on the crude protein content of vegetable waste (cabbage, mustard greens, corn husks). The highest protein content was in treatment P0 and P1 with an average value of 19.28 and the lowest crude protein content was found in treatment P2, namely 17.19 and P3 with a value of 17.73, while the effect was not significant (P<0, 05) on the crude fiber content of vegetable waste (cabbage, mustard greens, corn husks) with the addition of EM4 and molasses with the lowest average value at P0 of 18.72 and the highest average value of P2 being 21.26. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the addition of 10% EM4 and molasses in market vegetable waste (cabbage, mustard greens, corn husks) can reduce crude protein content and increase crude fiber.

Abstract

Permasalahan peternak mengalami kesulitan dalam penyediaan pakan berkualitas pada musim kemarau. Tujuan: Memproduksi inokulan unggul untuk mempercepat fermentasi silase pakan berbasis limbah agroindustri. Metode: Produksi inokulan dilakukan di laboratorium, kemudian diaplikasikan ke masyarakat peternak di Desa Baruga melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan. Hasil: Tersedianya 500 kg inokulan (250 kg padat dan 250 L cair), serta peningkatan pemahaman peternak dalam pemanfaatan fermentasi pakan. Dampak: Peternak dapat memproduksi pakan fermentasi sendiri, mengurangi ketergantungan pada pakan komersial.

Abstract

Desa Bontolangkasa Kecamatan Bontonompo memiliki potensi pengembangan sapi potong. Pemeliharaan ternak masih bersifat tradisional dan mengalami kendala dalam pemenuhan kualitas pakan. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan penyuluhan tentang pembuatan pakan komplit berbahan limbah pertanian dan pentingnya leguminosa pohon sebagai konsentrat hijau. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini adalah penyuluhan tentang leguminosa sebagai konsentrat hijau dan demontrasi pembuatan pakan komplit berbahan limbah pertanian. Legum pohon yang diperkenalkan kepada peternak yaitu gamal, indigofera, lamtoto dan turi. Demonstrasi pembuatan pakan komplit menggunakan bahan baku lokal yang terdiri dari jerami jagung, rumput gajah, dedak padi dan starter. Jerami padi dan rumput gajah dipotong pendek dengan menggunakan mesin pencacah, selanjutnya ditambahkan dedak padi dan starter kemudian dimasukkan kedalam karung yang dilapisi plastik. Pakan komplit disimpan selama dua hingga tiga minggu dan siap untuk digunakan. Teknologi pakan komplit merupakan teknologi aplikatif dan efisien dalam manajemen pakan. Pemanfaatan legum pohon dapat menjamin ketersediaan pakan sepanjang tahun.

Abstract

Increasing livestock productivity can be done through efforts to improve livestock nutrition and environment. The basic problem faced by partners is a lack of feed in certain seasons and the production of quite large amounts of fecal waste. In this case, universities, as one of the institutions responsible for providing solutions, of course feel the need to take "action". This activity can be implemented in the form of technology transfer, especially related to the issue of animal feed and waste. This activity aims to increase the capacity of members of the farmer-livestock group "Abbulosibatang" in the Batulapisi Dalam village, Malino Sub-District, Tinggimoncong District, Gowa Regency, especially in processing fermented feed. This activity is a manifestation of the university's concern for the condition and productivity of people's livestock businesses which are increasingly declining. Technology applied activities have been successfully implemented in the Batulapisi Dalam village , Malino Sub-District, Tinggimoncong District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. The partner involved is the farmer-livestock group "Abbulosibatang". One of the technology packages that has been disseminated is rice and corn straw "silage" fermented feed technology. Technology applied methods are carried out through face-to-face and practical training activities. Next, assistance and monitoring efforts are carried out. The results of the implementation of activities show that technology application activities have a very positive impact on partners in increasing capacity, especially related to the ability to process and produce fermented feed as reserve feed in certain seasons.
