Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesian Army has made various efforts and actions to create harmony with Indonesian citizens which is known as Territorial Development that is organized through Creative Social Communication activity. Current study aims to find out how the communication strategy carried out by 1611th/Badung Military District to socialize Creative Social Communication activities in 2017. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The result analysis using four elements of Anwar Arifin: 1). The audience is determined by Command in the form of directive which are Elementary and Junior High School Students in Denpasar and Badung. 2). The message is determined based on the theme and material that is issued directly. 3). Establishing Method, by means of its execution canalizing, the form of its contents: informative and persuasive. 4). Selection of Media Use, which are using directive based on command, face-to-face and technical meeting. Abstract

ABSTRACT Bali Media Grafika is a print media company in Bali with its newspaper product called Harian Pagi Tribun Bali. Tribun Bali Newspaper is a new newspaper that has been present in Bali since 2014. Tribun Bali is incorporated in the Tribun Network which is a group of newspapers owned by Kompas Gramedia. The purposel of this researcha is to find out the marketing communication strategy used by PT. Bali Media Graphic in increasing brand awareness of Bali Tribune newspaper among Balinese people. Thisr study usesa a descriptive qualitative approach. The technique of determining informants in this study uses purposive and snowball techniques (snowball techniques). Data is obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The author uses interactive model data analysis techniques, Milles and Huberman through several stages, that is data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of this study indicate the marketing communication strategy used by PT. Bali Media Graphic in increasing brand awareness Tribun Bali newspaper that is applying the concept of marketing mix (marketing mix) with 4P elements, that is: product, place, price, promotion, and using 8 elements of the promotion mix. The eight elements are: advertising (Advertising), direct marketing (direct marketing), interactivep marketing (interactive) / internet amarketing, sales promotion, publicity or public relations, personal selling (personal selling) , event (event), word of mouth marketing (Word of Mouth). Abstract

ABSTRACT This research contains the representation of tolerance meaning in the lyrics of “Peradaban” song by the .Feast music group. This research uses the semiotic theory of Ferdinand De Saussure. The Saussure Semiotic theory explains that sign has an interrelated element, namely a marker (signifier) and a sign (signified), then obtained a meaning or significance. This process connects the lyrics of “Peradaban” song with the real external world. The result of this research, the lyrics contains interrelated meanings about the importance of tolerance. Songwriters make very complex song lyrics, describe conflict, human attidudes and hope that are inserted at the end them. The theoriatical model of Ferdinand De Saussure focuses directly on the sign itself. In this research, the researcher divided the entire song lyrics into several verses and the analyzed the using the semiotic theory of Ferdinand De Saussure. Abstract

Communication Apprehension is one of the obstacles to communicating. People who experience communicate apprehension will as much as possible avoid communication situations. This research aims to know the forms of communication apprehension on early childhood and the impact of the anxiety the child communicate towards social interaction of children in her environment, so that the habit of communication apprehension children can eventually minimized. The design of this research uses qualitative research conducted at TKK Thomas Aquino B1 group with conducting observations at TKK Thomas Aquino particular observations, interview, and documentation. From the results of the study found that other forms of child’s communication apprehension among them, are not active in the activities, over communication, just silent, brooding, not excited, did not want to follow the events, depending on the teacher, did not want to run the command, crying, unwilling to be left to parents, not want to with friends, do not want to convey opinions and didn't want to talk in public. Communication apprehension on early childhood have an impact on the interaction of the child, especially in the social environment, away from the conversation with his friends, does not come into play and rarely get out of class, can‘t socialize with others and sometimes disrupt or interfere with the activities of the people in the vicinity. Abstract

ABSTRACT Tirta Mumbul Jaya Abadi is a company of mineral water (AMDK). This company is a branch of Water Supply Local Company in Buleleng regency(PDAM) which is part of the Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD). It cooperates with private company, Mara Jaya Dewi Sakti that has been establish in organizational way since 2004.  This water company is quite new in its operation but it has succeded to become the market leader of mineral water in Buleleng regency. It is due to the effort of whole staffs of Tirta Mumbul Jaya Abadi Company especially its public relation. This research applied Image Building and Two Way Symmetrical Model analysing the strategy used by public relation of Tirta Mumbul Jaya Abadi company. It is a descriptive qualitative research that applied triangulation technic in collecting data. This research took place in Singaraja city. The result showed that strategy which was quite effective to be used were publication and public relationship. Public relation of Tirta Mumbul Jaya Abadi Company is active in using electronic and outdoor media as well as maintaing good relationship with their external public through sponsorship effort in both product or financial to build the image of company. Abstract

ABSTRACT Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts, is one of the films that describes women's resistance to fighting negative stereotypes circulating in the community. It’s still strong patriarchal culture caused women to be depicted as weak and number two. However, women come up from adversity because women have a strong soul. This research uses Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis by looking for denotative meanings, connotative meanings and myths in analyzing the signs in films that represent women in this film. The results show that in the film Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts show the signs that represent women, that women, even though they are considered as the second class are able to show their strong side and can fight, women also have the courage to voice what they want and showing women still need protection. Abstract

ABSTRACT Film is one of the mass media that provides the reality through the code and particular symbol in audio-visual form. The representation of reality presented in a film tends to influence the viewers’ understanding toward reality. Film does not merely have a positive effect, many films also contain the representation of gender inequality. One of them is Disney Princess Fairy Tales. Disney film progressively receives the critics from the feminists since it represents a passive Princess that relies on the Prince’s help. Responding to the critics, Disney eventually presents the different Princess figure which is tougher. Thus, this research aims to explain the representation of feminism in the film entitled Beauty and Beast 2017. This research used qualitative study approach and interpretive constructivist paradigm employing the analysis method of Peirce’s semiotics. The result of the study shows that feminism representation reflected in the figure of Belle is the postmodern feminism since Belle focuses more on showing her existence as a woman by being herself. Belle’s postmodern feminism is reflected by her intelligent characteristic, bravery in opposing the man’s view, tough and brave attitude, decisive figure as well as the presence of gender equity in a film. Abstract

The myth of I Gede Mecaling has been enveloved in Batuan Pakraman Village and passed down from generation to generation. The myth told about the act of I Gede Mecaling who always hurt the people who lived in Batuan Pakraman Village. The act of I Gede Mecaling had an effect, then he was expelled from Batuan Pakraman Village. he cursed and swear that Batuan Pakraman Villagers will be affected if they cross to Nusa Penida. That myth caused the dualism attitude among the villagers in Batuan Pakraman Village, going or not going to Nusa Penida. The aim of this research is to determine the factors that affect the attitude of Batuan Pakraman Village to the myth of I Gede Mecaling. This research used qualitative descriptive reseacrh type. The data that develoved in this research used interview, observation and documentation studies method. For the selection of the informan used purposive sampling and snowball techniques. The research of this research shows that there is a dualism attitude among the villagers to the myth of I Gede Mecaling affected by expirience factor, economic factor and the value factor in the family. The myth is a communication medium because there is a message in it. Then the myth is spread oarally from generation to generation. Abstract

The goal of this research is to know the communication pattern used by lesbians in the Srikandi Dewata Community in the process of developing interpersonal relationship up to the stage of intimacy to be a lover. This research uses descriptive qualitative type. Informants were selected by purposive and snowball techniques. Data were obtained by using in-depth interview technique, direct observation, and documentation study. Data analysis techniques used in this study through several stages namely, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that lesbians within the Srikandi Dewata Community used four patterns of communication in the process of developing relationships to the stage of intimacy to become lovers. First is the primary communication pattern in which they use verbal and non verbal communication in the development of their relationship. Second is the pattern of secondary communication, they use the second channel or media in the delivery of messages, namely mobile and use of chat applications. Third is a linear communication pattern, this communication pattern is formed from the stages and process of developing their interpersonal relationship, from interpersonal communication stage, contact stage, stage of engagement, and stage of intimacy. Fourth is the circular communication pattern, this pattern is used in the stage of involvement and stage of familiarity to know the respond an feedback from the message given from the communication to the communicator. Abstract

ABSTRAK   Bali merupakan pulau yang kaya akan warisan budaya dan kesenian tradisional yang beragam. Salah satunya adalah alat komunikasi tradisional yaitu kulkul. Kulkul adalah alat komunikasi bagi organisasi tradisional Bali (desa adat, banjar adat, dan subak). Desa Pakraman Sukahet dan Desa Adat Kuta menjadi fokus pengamatan dalam penelitian ini dengan mengerucut kepada masing-masing satu banjar adatnya, yaitu Banjar Sari dan Banjar Pande Mas Kuta. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah ingin  mengetahui perkembangan penggunaan kulkul sebagai media komunikasi dalam desa pakraman di Bali dan ingin mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keberadaan kulkul sebagai media komunikasi tradisional dalam desa pakraman di Bali. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus analisis situasional. Teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis interactive model, Milles dan Huberman. Hasil pembahasan dalam penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa eksistensi kulkul di kedua desa adat tersebut masih terjaga dan masih aktif digunakan sesuai dengan fungsinya di tengah perkembangan globalisasi, khususnya perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Di samping pengunaan kulkul yang masih aktif, penggunaan kulkul bulus di Desa Adat Kuta sudah ditinggalkan. Penggunaan kulkul pemuda juga sudah tidak aktif lagi di Banjar Sari dan Banjar Pande Mas Kuta.   Kata kunci: Kulkul, Penggunaan kulkul, Desa pakraman, Desa adat
