Abstract

xABSTRACT8 Filmxhas strength in constructing people through symbols it sends by every scenes. Besides construction of meaning, film also has the power to manipulate reality. This is known as hyperreality. The basic conceptx usedx inx thisx researchx isx thex hyperreality theoryr by Jean Baudrillard. It is applied on the serial anthology Black Mirror episode Nosedive. The research method is to observe the whole film content and to analyse each and every signs, verbal and non-verbal, to find out their correspondence to Baudrillard thoughts, followed with exposition according to semiotic text analysis of Charles Sanders Peirce.The results show many signs in this film have strong relation with Baudrillard concept. Consequently it has pictorial potencies which can be determined as hyperreality phenomena. A society unawareness that live in a world of technological simulation and social interaction in accordance with algorithm preference. Abstract

ABSTRACT The emergence of negative stereotypes about Islam was formed and built by the mass media through the messages it brought, especially after the tragedy of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. One type of mass media is film. As a message conveyor, film has a rather strong effect because it is usually based and inspired from the reality that exists in real life The film that shows American stereotypes of Muslim is the film Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika. This type of research is descriptive-qualitative. Data collection techniques using the study of visual material by examining various signs both verbal and non verbal and then describe it using the semiotics theory of Roland Barthes. The results of this research shows that there are stereotypes of Muslim that are identically with terrorist, the American Islamophobia against Muslim, and then there are discrimination against Muslims. Abstract

ABSTRACT Film is a mass media that presents reality through certain codes and symbols in audiovisual form. There are still many messages contained in a film containing lame gender representations. One of them is the representation of masculinity. In the Bohemian Rhapsody film, Freddie Mercury is portrayed as a man who is metrosexual, likes a luxurious and elegant lifestyle, and is flamboyant. Therefore the aim of the study is to explain the representation of masculinity in the Bohemian Rhapsody film. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with an interpretive constructivist paradigm with Peirce's semiotic analysis method. The result of this study indicates that the representation of masculinity reflected in this film is the masculinity of the 1980s. Freddie Mercury's masculinity of the 1980s was reflected in his metrosexual figure, lavish and elegant lifestyle, and flamboyance in the film. Abstract

ABSTRACT To fulfill the need of information for the hearing im-paired, since 2017 news program in television translation in sign language has been provided. Focus of this study is measure the effectiveness of Redaksi Sore TRANS7 BISINDO on Bali Deaf Community, a community who does socializing BISINDO. This study used Direct Rating Method as indicator and Uses and Effect theory. This study did the instrument testing using validity and reliable test and statistics descriptive analysis. The result is, average score of the effectiveness of Redaksi Sore TRANS7 BISINDO is 69,98 and shows that there are five indicator on DRM that influence the effectiveness, such as attention, readthroughness, cognitive response, affective response, and behavioral response. The primary principlethis theory is whether the users (Bali Deaf Community) receive an effect after using mass media (Redaksi Sore TRANS7 with sign language translator). Abstract

ABSTRACT Communication has an important role in life, so also in organizations. The right organizational communication can facilitate management and employees to coordinate with each other. one of the results expected by the company is loyal employees The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which organizational communication plays a role in increasing employee loyalty to Adhi Jaya Hotel Kuta. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method in the positivist paradigm. The results of this study indicate that family communication in the organization applied in Adhi Jaya Hotel Kuta plays an effective role in increasing employee loyalty. Organizational communication that is run in a family manner can provide openness, a sense of comfort when working and still respect each other between superiors and subordinates as well as fellow colleagues who are equal This is a factor in increasing employee loyalty to the company. Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia is one of many countries in the world that deny any sexual preference other than heterosexual because gay and bisexsual are considered wrong in term of religion and norm. From research that have been done by PEW Research Center in 2007 said that only 3% of the respondence from Indonesia support gay couple and the other 97% said didnt. This thing makes gay people choose the way of closeted community and extremely hard to surface. This thing also make gay people are deciding to stay away from their family and friends. This research focused on the self disclosure on gay in Bali Province. This research using qualitative method and social penetration. The object is gay that already open to their family. The result is most of the gay people are usualy cover them selves because they are aware that other people can not accept them by who they are. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research titled Gerakan “Feminism Hura-Hura" Mari Jeung Rebut Kembali di Video Musik Tika and The Dissident (Studi Semiotika). In 2016 Tika and The Dissidents released a single called “Tubuhku Otoritasku" and Mari Jeung Rebut Kembali with collaborators making the music video that shows the freedom expression and had a big role in perceiving and influencing audience towards the mindset of women in society. The purpose of this research is to know how the movement of feminism in “Tubuhku Otoritasku” music videos. The type of this research is qualitative research with a constructivist paradigm and using approach analysis of Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic. The data source used in this research consists of primary data form the scene, background, or lyrics and secondary sources are from the articles, websites, and publications. Abstract

ABSTRACT Advertisement has a major role in supporting the marketing success of a product and service. In the case of binding to the public's attractiveness, the female figure is often used as a symbol to display the visual form of the audience. The image of women formed generally is a combination of sex objects, mothers or wives. But now with the times, advertisement has also undergone a change, as is the Kecap ABC “Perasan Pertama Lebih Kaya Rasa”. Through qualitative research using Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis method, the results show that the construction of the image of women in Kecap ABC “Perasan Pertama Lebih Kaya Rasa” is the image of the Pinggan, the image of the Pillar and the image of the Pigura. Abstract

ABSTRACT’; Advertisement is representing an activity to launch ideas and items using persuasive tricks. One of them is to create an ideal image for men in accordance with market demand through the appearance of a muscular body and handsome face. However, it’s different with Extra Joss Advertisement version called “laki go to health” which represent a different masculine image from the previous advertisement. Through qualitative research methods with the constructivisti paradigma ands semiotic analysisf of Rolando Barthesi, researchers found a different construction of man masculinity in Extra Joss ads called “laki go to health”. The changing masculinity in this advertisement is not only based on physical appearance, but is more than showing man lifestyle. This can be seen from changing regular and irregular lifestyles which are constructed fromaathe beginningito=the1end of the advertisementdand are increasingly confirmed by the man tagline called “laki go to health”. Abstract

ABSTRACT Various kinds of content are available on Youtube to be watched, such as a vlog content about bikers that are used as a means of information. Some riders of bikers in Vlog RG700 showed a habit which made another riders felt uncomfortable. A sign that represented discomfort by riders in the RG700 vlog was analyzed using John Fiske's Semiotic Theory. The results showed that another riders in the RG700 vlog gave uncomfortable feelings such as riding at high speed, using excessive accessories, joking on the road, asking for priority, and harming other road users. What appeared in the vlog will be better if it is filtered before being followed and do some things that do not violate existing regulations. Keywords:Hedonism, Representation, Semiotics, Youtube.
